30drop records presents the first release of close encounters, the newest and the final concurrent collection of the label. four tracks, four artists and one common goal. the proposal is based on feasible, or better said, future encounters with extraterrestial beings or civilizations from outer space. the idea behind the whole work is to construct a conceptually and musically self-sufficient bundle of tracks developed by several creatives. on this case, dj surgeles, jeroen search, 30drop itself and another label s member, oryx 9, are the manufacturers of this first chapter. dj surgeles has a solid career as dj and producer with, for instance, his releases on something in the sky, the captivating and exquisite label of jeff mills. jeroen search is another well known talented producer with a large discography behind him that opens the ep with a steadfast cosmic shot, -aeon-. -umbra-, a spacey on a firm body track by dj surgeles, takes over from. on the b side, 30drop drops us to a -lunar mission- launched directly from the dance floor and, finally, oryx 9 invites us to a psychedelic floating experience on a distant galaxy -black market-. first contact ep is a massive set of sci-fi techno cuts that you should not miss it!

cyber dance records return with a full-length double-vinyl album from manchesters kid machine (aka mark wilkinson) following a string of instantly sold-out eps for viewlexx, red laser and flight recorder. a long-time collaborator of world-famous italo disco dj flemming dalum, it is no surprise that many of the tracks have that hallmark space sound reminiscent of the likes of cyber people and koto, but mark stamps his own distinct identity on the genre by slowing down the bpms and incorporating many other influences throughout so that this is no retro affair but a distinctly fresh and modern take on the genre.

east londonder sukh knight has remained one of the most consistent dubstep artists over the past decade, through a long list of releases on hench, true tiger and new world audio among other record labels.
the scorpion ep remains on level, boasting a variety of heavy bass music styles - from the gritty dubstep sounds of the title track, the digital bonus foot soldiers and first contact, to the anthemic 93bpm roller creation and finally dj madd’s percussive, deep 160bpm remix of scorpion. a well-rounded bass music record for the heads - don’t miss.

for its 23rd release, berlin-based italian label out-er welcomes techno fellows dj spider and phil moffa for v ep .
the collaboration between the italian label and the two techno producers, follows a meeting in nyc between out-er co-founder simone gatto at the producers headquarter gatto always appreciated the artists musical peculiarity and, generally, supports distorted electronic sounds, which anyway already found space on the label’s previous releases thanks to the efforts of the analogue cops, christopher rau and marieu.

with the seventh vinyl release evod music welcomes kwartz, well-knowed spanish producer who released on label like pole group and mord. the release is splitted with evod, two tracks for side. the two tracks by kwartz are noisy, warm, with turbulent grooves, both tunes are overwhelming, with twists of low frequencies sequences and brilliant noises/rhythmics. evod s tracks are a true compromise between old school and modern sonorities, thanks to the raw/analog warm accompanied by abstract and synthetic sounds.

jurassic 5 flexed serious old-to-the-new muscles in the ‘90s, beginning with their independently released single “unified rebelution” in 1994, and book-ending with their stellar debut full-length: 2000’s quality control. they walked a tightrope between underground and mainstream hip-hop, and toured alongside rap peers as well as punk rockers on the vans warped tour.

voyage returns with the discovery of an until now unknown artist. unearthed from the hull of an abandoned discovery probe, the origins of ausländer are undisclosed and unlikely to be uncovered. the three artefacts revolve around what is only understood as ausländers theme, which is twice reinterpreted on the flip. no doubt made with machines, this wondrous exploration of thought, rhythm and undiscovered worlds is a welcomed addition to the voyage catalogue.
