the first release on the hotly anticipated recore records, a-fair comprises of three tracks from jack barton, with a remix for the lead track from pawas, a must have name in anybodies record collection. jack barton although relatively new to production, with this his second release, he is no stranger to making waves on the dancefloor and can be regularly seen playing not only in his hometown of manchester, but also much further afield. this ep showcases his talents as a producer with a spectrum of sounds from each track.

mind fair return with a deadly two-part interpretation of the joe jackson classic steppin out. for their latest rogue cat sounds incarnation the golf channel mainstays have enlisted the indispensable talents of charmaine baines on vocals, climax blues bands derek holt (bass &guitar) and alex bradbury (sundown drive) on keys. this slowed down, melting pot of soca not soca meets lovers rock, reggae, blues and soul is brought to you in two parts part one deals mostly with the song, charmaine s vocals sounding suitably dreamy and laid back whilst part two puts focus on the instrumental groove where the guitars, strings and rhodes are the main attraction. mark e provides one of his merc dubs on the flip which takes a afro rhythm meets beat down central then builds intensively with rhodes and a horn section breakdown to die for the man is on form! essential music to step out to this summer for sure!

the french duo of eric guillanton and seb fouble are remote, a pair charged with serving up the next release on the ever-excellent meant label. this twosome has been active for more than a decade now, releasing lps and eps on labels like kill the dj, zone and fondation as well of course meant to which they return now two years after their label debut. here they serve up two new ghetto tinged, darkened electro tracks that come complete with remixes from fairmont and headman.

standard fair was born in 1980 in sapporo, japan, and played the bass in a punk band until he was 20. he is very influenced by various genres of music but now he produces sophisticated deep house. after some excellent releases on resopal and little helpers he returns on joyfull with some great dance tracks.
ep includes 2 remixes produced by someone else (the philadelphia based dj and producer, co-founder of the tuning spork and fuzzy box record labels and owner of little helpers) and aldo cadiz (one of the leading producers of electronic underground in chile and one of the most respected djs in south america).
