after i heard enol s beautiful track white mango on initial cut, i felt the need to reach out. i had a long and friendly conversation with matthieu (enola) about our musical background and agreed on the fact that we both have a weakness for pop music and early detroit techno, and quickly came to the conclusion that something with a little pop would be perfect for the label. enola came to us with >slow motion< featuring the vocals of will caulfield. its something different for enola, and something different for us, deep techno pop, perfect for 5am! enola is the new project of french dj matthieu monnin, who used to be part of the techno outfit noirdegout. matthieu now works on his own, finding his niche in melodious techno, taking inspiration from the sounds of the nineties. he has done work with the likes of rodriguez jr, anoraak, and arno gonzalez, and now he joins correspondant with >slow motion<. on the flip side, nhar, the other half of correspondant turns the darkness into light with for me, his best remix to date. if the original is for 5am, nhars remix is for 5pm, when the sun still shines and its warmth still remains.

barcelona is hip, barcelona is beautiful, barcelona is funky. if you dont believe us, check out these fantastic tracks by cardova. on one hand there is the speedy >baccarra<, the ideal soundtrack to your anxious search for the last tickets for the footy, with a nice little nod to the fab four. and then there is that doo-woppy and soulful cover of, err, omds >enola gaye<. now this is what we call calite!

the title track, lost in shibuya, is perhaps our favorite track from the album. its a very evocative track, a 7 minute journey that revolves around a killer bassline, that captures the trancey techno vibe that made some of the most glorious moments of nineties techno. on the flip side, we asked one of our favorite producers to deliver a remix. his name is quarion and as part of drumpoet community, he is responsible for some of the best deep house sounds of the past years, and is one of the leaders of the neo deep house movement. quarion blessed us with a tribute to mood ii swing that is his dub infected killer usuki shinrin mix.

nooncat is back with a masterpiece, an album filled with captivating and strong sounds. he made an incredible work and it’s apleasure for us at dilek records to release this amazing double vinyl edition full of surprises and quality tracks of our russia

it’s a diverse and distinctive listen loaded with the kind of grubby sonics and curveball composition choices that we so love here in the cassette realm.

back to the future! two years after kanns diverse family horror various double 12, the label fills the gap by releasing catalogue no.10 including interpretations of 3 tracks from the compilation. it is no accident that the original artists met their brothers in mind for choosing their favorite horror track. whites edward converted johannes beck, hamburgs analogue king rvds rolls up with even tuell and the swedish duo of dancefloor-masters axel boman and petter called salax peep show restarted the machines for map.ache. the family stories continues.

manic street preachers originally gained a loyal following and cult status with their combination of androgynous glam punk imagery, outspoken invective and songs about alienation, boredom and despair. the bands later albums retained a leftist politicization and intellectual lyrical style, while adopting a broader alternative rock sound, especially after the mysterious disappearance of lyricist and rhythm guitarist richey edwards in 1995. >everything must go< is the manics fourth album and was released in 1996, now back on 180 gram audiophile vinyl.
