tang breaks out a little-used alias, transmitting from the concrete jungle, audio hallucinogens changes thoughts. the “habit” is a subtle rumbling bass line evolving into a fluid, acidic language, which only crickets would understand.

sean hernandez, a.k.a. chicago skyway presents * empty patterns* on emphasis recordings. in the past, chicago skyway has recorded for labels such as eargasmic recordings, m>o>s deep, uzuri, altered moods recordings, and machining dreams, to name a few. empty patterns is a collection of tracks named after empty, programmable user patterns founds in most modern sequencers, synthesizers, and drum machines. we can only speculate which instrument was used for these tracks. all tracks are dj tools and is geared towards djs and dance floors. lots of chicago jacking house style drum patterns and bass synth stabs, with added reverb and distortion for grit and color.
back at it again, taking the true essence of the “jacking” sound of chicago house and putting it’s own stamp on it is what obsolete music technology has done with their new 12″,, entitled, “volatile.” warbling, wobbling, distorting, sinisterly acidic basslines abound is the best way to describe this release! for dance floors only! you have been warned! “volatile” starts off with some 707 drums intro and then fading in, is this tripped out, bubbling bass sound that sends you off a cliff! just when you think that’s all to the track, dark, melancholic pads comes in for added atmos-fear! rounding out the a-side is “killin,” with it’s 2 acid style basslines, one sounding at a high octave and the other at a lower octave. riffs playing separately sounding great, but when played together, there is something slightly, mentally off. on the b-side, “broken siren” is high energy! 808 tom drums bringing the funky low end while a short, electronic piano lick drenched in warm, fuzzy, flange effect. setting it off is a decayed sine wave, mimicking an actual alarm sound. lastly, “electric current” best describe this distorted acid bassline and its tweaking filter and resonance controls over jacking 808 drums
dutch artist, having dropped 2 midnight shift & mord records as charlton, suits up with an ethereal jacking track, a bubbling, burbling acid track, some dutch techno, & crowns it with dark, wide spaces in the mind.

emphasis recordings is proud to present the latest tang single, >bass synergy<! the title track continues in that chicago/detroit vibe that we all come to know from tang. it starts off with a bass heavy, industrial styled, drum programming before a pulsating bass comes riding along a funky melody. just when you think you got the beef of the track, things break down to rumbling arppegiated bass roll. then boom! both basslines and percussion come back in for the for the finish! did i mention theres strings?
