parts i & ii of friday 14th were previously released on french label astrolab but these two new versions evolved through playing the track in our live set. while in la last year, we were asked to go into the studio and record something... this is what came from that session. also on the release is a great dubby-proto-house remix from roots unit, and most excellent it is too.

very cool cage & aviary disco mixes

our first release on twhe that doesn t directly involve cage & aviary hails from adelaide in oz. we met sid on myspace, and very quickly signed him up to be one of our 6 remix victims for a series that we re putting out

after a longer gap than intended, part two of the cage & aviary remix series lands with a bang. truck are an enigma of a band, only forming when the astral alignments deem it appropriate - the next is due in 2012. cage & aviary take the brilliant vocal into proto/acid house territory with a killer bassline ready to move any dancefloor. crude vocal cut ups add to the 80s remix feel, while guitar licks, god pads, and all manner of prophet warblings come and go in a patchwork of angled sounds. sinister strings cut through at the mid way point before the superb outro vocal takes you home. for the dub, ape into jam & leo zero put their heads together and push the track into more of a dancefloor place, employing arpeggiators to keep the cut and paste elements rolling along. leo is a man of many excellent edits, productions, and remixes - watch out for an exciting new vocal project coming from him soon

stunning follow up to giorgio carpenter heads into spaced-out punk funk territory with live bass, guitar and extremely hooky vox from nigel and superb handing of synths, drums, funny noises, arrangement and production from jamie. clocking in at 11 minutes and going into an extended groove out for the second half. an out and out winner on all manner of dancefloors. hurry, all aboard! 200 copies worldwide.
