we gave it to them straight: let us remix your song or we re taking all the meatballs.having heard the baggy psychedelic beauty that is?rushing through my mind on lauren laverne s 6music show, we thought we could do a number on it. turn it into a psychedelic disco record (with added meatballs). we think we managed it, reliving the rushy highs from indie-dance s finest moments of 1991. for those of you unaware of the splendid swedish rockers groovy workings, they have already released two albums, debut horse dance in 2015 and last year s excellent mirage, from which the ecstatic? rushing comes. the release comes on joe bugner-style heavyweight vinyl (180g) complete with instrumental and radio edit. mang dynasty is ray mang and bill brewster.

celebrated and mercury-nominated uk duo rae & christian released their first new material for ten years in 2013 on night time stories/late night tales after spending the last decade meditating in a buddhist monastery in swindon. this year the label commissioned a series of remixes from mercury rising and mang dynasty (aka ray mang & bill brewster) take on favourite game featuring rising star of the swindon buddhist circuit jake emlyn. mang dynasty focus on gita langley s backing vocal hooks adding a chorus piano motif and stretch things out into an epic nine minute plus main version aimed squarely at the dancefloor (and afghanistan). jake emlyns more aurally-pleasing melodic parts are utilised towards the end taking things up another level to a happy finish. initial reactions have been so strong it seemed rude not to slip out a 12inch on mangled, home of the hits!

stylistically different from their previous releases, the dynasty ii ep is a catchy, propulsive and perhaps at times even romantic release. providing four energetic songs of varying mood, the ep proves that the boys can always deliver. the ep included cesares road tested >what do u want<, a straightforward old school banger with deep distorted synths and a monster vocal hooks. the track is then also remixed by both jeremy & cesare adding both depth and character to the already powerful original.
