some things are heavy and some are not. why is it like this? style for instance seems to have no weight as long its timely and modern. gravity might change, but style endures. it s not how low you go, but where and when you show up. temporarily the peripheric mainstream may attract more likes then the contemporary self-contempt. gravity can be a bigger enemy then yourself. don t let gravity get you down! mix mups new 12 is fighting for a world where gravity is for everyone, regardless of rpm, bpm or bitrate. in this times mix mup and mikrodisko are standing as proud allies together. we shape magic carpets out of black gold! m12 vinyl slices will beat the terrestrial gravity! hover the spoon. over the moon.
big electro rave remixes that remind of the early 00s when the gig i-f, tiga and miss kittin tunes rocked the clubs. disko b is back in action with a remix package of the huge control track by artist unknown! the hacker, housemeister and ferenc on remix duty, but the original is an essential track itself.

deo & z-man, the blood-brothers from hamburg, pulled off one of the most creative feats of last year with their debut album, no bullshit , with zero bs but plenty of inspiration, the pair melted together a range of influences with a healthy dose of tongue-in-cheek humour for their underground opus. the remix lp to follow this ep solidifies their commitment to the eclectic, drafting in friends and family like lee burton, erobique and tigerskin to rework the magic.

our fourth release comes from ogris debris, part of the affine family (home of dorian concept and cid rim) and an internationally acclaimed producer duo from vienna. combining cutting-edge digital production with finest ingredients of techno and house, ogris debris create a unique brand of dance music that is widely acknowledged as innovative by the global scene.
for this release, ogris debris deliver a uk-bass influenced, chord-driven primetime house stomper, somewhat different to their previous releases. on the b-side, hyperdubs grime and funky don scratcha dva eases the rhythm with his rolling bassline sound for a weighty dj tool track, while the clonious diverts the energy with his soulfull keyboard skills and swinging drums into an infectious late-summer future funk affair.
the third diskotopia release of 2013 comes transmitted from somewhere out in deep space, courtesy of label mainstay, rbma alumni & tender hooks co-founder mau lin. building on from last years excellently received function open ep, mau lin continues his exploration of ruff and rugged polyrhythmic techno abstractions in fine style. the four original tracks which comprise the quotient ep, plus a stunning boxwork remix, are mau lins strongest and most visceral tracks to date.
disko404 is a long-established promotions crew based in graz, austria, whose renowned monthly events are all about celebrating the bass in dubstep, funky, house, juke, grime, hip hop, electro, and experimental sounds. earlier this year they branched out as a record label, launching with a well-received split ep from sun people & franjazzco. their second release features two new tunes by sun peoples simon/off as well as a splendid remix by bass clef.
early support comes from scratcha dva (hyperdub), brackles (rinse fm), phon.o (50weapons), and bunzer0 (sub fm), and with a strictly limited run of 250 pressed, this is a 12 inch that will be in demand long after supply holds out.
dfa has long been a favourite at the bitches hq and we were chuffed to be asked to remix one of our favourite acts, the rapture. we certainly were not shy and dove headfirst into this mix bringing out the guitars and the lovely beach boy-esque harmonies twisting it into an indie-electro-house dance floor stomper. its not for the wallflowers to be sure.dfa have released this goodie digitally, but as we bitches love our biscuits, we had to see it released on vinyl. and of course, we must ensure premium sound quality so this release is 45 rpm on 180 gram vinyl. happy listening.
from one possible interpretation to the next: a view from a car. click. nighttime, being on the move. click. before or after the accident? click. – mix mup offers us a plot on the way from a to b, which could be a piece of a secret, perhaps even a great story. in order to decide on this, we must lose ourselves first. lose ourselves in disorder and early sorrow.
nice price deal !!! 2 bears is joe goddard (from hot chip) and raf rundell and the remixes are by darkstarr diskotek which is colleen cosmo murphy and ashley beedle. the 10-inch has limited edition hand silk-screened covered and hand stamped labels courtesy of artist james morrison and is the fifth and final in the bitches brew 10-inch series. getting the big up from the loft party in london, chris coco, ross allen, liv spencer (houseofhouse/still going), jim stanton (horse meat disco), leo zero and more.
three new tracks by mix mup on mikrodisko. three musical statements, instead of drawing from a wide range of samples from old vinyl, as he did on his last release >dj of higher quality<, mix mup this time mostly relies on his own voice and an all-in-one sequencer. you can hear his love for raw chicago-acid-house b-sides, his affinity for italodisco and sonic experimentation. this is not about a clean sound and a clear arrangement, the tracks were produced in a moment for the moment. all tracks were produced in a single session, without quantising, without a screen, without a mouse. always with some scepticism and his tongue in his cheek
tracks from the smoothie man album on sunset04 get remixes by krikor (kill the dj, karat), franco cinelli (adjunct, multivitamins), metrika (crosstown rebels) and dapayk (mosferry)
