(vinyl part 1/4) voltage festival is releasing a compilation of 4 ep s to celebrate five years of existence. the ep s are dedicated to four sub-genres of techno and represent the versatility in techno of voltage festival s line-up. the series starts off with a classic techno ep called zener diode, followed by a deep techno one called wiring harness, an industrial release with the name circuit breaker and closing with acid techno called resistor. ltd to 200 copies!

ascs brand new imprint, diode, kicks off with 3 techno tracks. full of vibrance and the usual production nuances we have come to expect from asc over the years. solenoid is the lead track and gets straight down to business with no messing about. heavy kicks, keys laden with fx, and snappy percussion make this a firm floor tune. on the flip, we have the moody and sinister release, which flirts with darkness, and backing it up is the essential carrier. 3 standout tunes from a name synonymous with quality electronic music.

following their 50th release milestone cpu celebrate 5th anniversary with a 2x12- lp remix compilation. cpu has been reticent in regards to remixes, with a grand total of zero during its first five years of existence. this all changes with this dedicated remix compilation celebrating the label s 5th anniversary. the exalted roster have chosen their favourite tracks to remix from the label s back catalogue and are brought together in a very special 2x12- gatefold sleeve. b12, jensen interceptor and morphology all make an appearance alongside some of the label s seldom seen artists. there is also a posthumous microlith remix of tryphème - mélodramatique. electro has again proven its staying power and cpu has played a key role in championing some of the genre s greatest: bringing new artists to the front line and cementing the status of the established. this five year celebration showcases the diverse tastes and backgrounds of the roster, crossing many genre boundaries - all executed with precision and attention to detail that the label is known for.
