after the success of aboutface s debut ep on amirali s dark matters imprint in october of 2015, aboutface performed his project vaga the river wye as a metaphorical representation of the journey of humanity, live at freerotation (2016), the performance was also broadcast on nts radio on 16/7/16. following this mesmerising and exploratory project, the young london based composer and dj returns with a new release. in the tepid shine we breathe is due out on the 19th of september.

dark matters is proud to announce its fourth release, chromatic dreams, courtesy of label boss amirali. with his avant-garde concoction of electronica, techno and house, the ep is constructed of two original tracks and one remix courtesy of midnight operator, the duo made up of mathew jonson and his brother, nathan. this is amiralis first sonic exercise on the label since the debut release, fearful stay.

dark matters, the eclectic imprint founded by amirali is proud to announce its third release, paul valentin inner harm. growing up in a small village in southern germany, valentin was influenced by his musical family. studying classical guitar himself, he combines acoustic, electronic and field recordings in his music creating cinematic compositions.

aboutface is firstly a composer/live performer and secondly a dj, hailing from east london he steps up for the next release on amirali’s newly founded imprint dark matters. drawing upon both the sociological and environmental landscape as creative inspiration, aboutface uses his background in fine art and painting to help inform his productions. all the last three years music has been inspired by a thousand mile plus journey through eastern europe and around the coastal regions of the uk, each song using the environmental recordings of a different region or city as the creative starting point.

dark matters kicks off with an ep from label boss amirali dropping in july. the ep features a re-work from future label mate aboutface and a remix from prins thomas. the melodic complexities and hypnotic vocals in amirali’s original mix are re-worked, securing this ep as a confident and stunning debut.
