daniel savio - the swede who coined the term “skwee” back in 2006 when the first odd-sounding electro-funked and tempo-twirling 7inches came about from finland and sweden. his 6-track record for laton consists of true-to-the-game skwee sounds and rhythms incl. oriental-like melodies that has been penetrating the genre for years. harmonic in melody, diverse in tempo from the originator. laton presents some of the proprietors of skwee & the phenomenon of this fennoscandian sound with three different 12inches and a lp compilation. “holtiton” was originally released in 2012, limited and is back on demand.

daniel savio is one of the originators of the skweee genre, and actually the one who first coined the term skweee to describe the process of squeezing each and every sound used in his tunes from one single synth. it goes whithout saying that myor is very proud to present this 7 inch by the master of his trade. assecs denied is about as close as youll get to a banger within this freakazoid genre: compelling drum works, catchy synth bleeps and some obscured vocal snippets. on make it personal señor savio treads a slower and more modest pace. still skweee though, just a bit more relaxed and even slightly melancholi

intergalactic, retro-futurist broken beat-ish track by legendary drum&bass producer seba teaming up with o persson under the east bound moniker. daniel savio follows with a laid-back spacey synth journey, spiced with a 70ies sci-fi flavor, yet with a modern approach. the b-side meanwhile takes off with a dark, yet progressive techno groover by young talent bonaca, ending with daniel araya s analogue-rich bomb, with a body-music type of vibe. operating under the radar, but romb records have so far been pushing an immensely diverse, yet cohesive soundscape of quality underground electronic music. the thirteenth release is no different, neatly summing up the label s genre-defying philosophy, presenting a four track collage of electronic mastery. that s how you do it!

the eleventh release on romb is a wild yet beautiful mini compilation, combining detroit and chicago vibes with uk breakbeats and a dash of melancholic electronica: a generous ep with dj friendly tracks that will also work perfectly at home. the a-side starts off with a detroit flavored acid house groover by new artist almost automatic, followed by solarity, a stormy, break-ridden dance stepper with an epic feel. on the flipside sean dixon, well-known from releases on clone and rawax as well as his own final chapter imprint, delivers a clean-cut italo infused chicago house gem. the ep ends with a beautiful, melodic down-tempo synth journey by daniel savio. all in all a diverse and playful ep with old-school vibes, yet with fresh twists and turns. limited to 200 copies only, this is a gem not to be missed.

one of the most intense tunes by sven sossong’s album „atropa is lifted for this remix-ep - „world . the original is warm and spheric breaks-techno piece of art, but now we are coming up with 4 strong remixes. frankfurt-based frank savio adds a solid groove and restages the main theme into a powerful peaktime remix. the welderz from paris give the next contribution. they released on labels like flash rec., analytic trail rec. and sleaze, and here they are in the game with a dark and driven interpretation. two further remixes are done by the close environment of sossong: kenny b and daniel cuminale. both catching up the epic mood and define the track newly by bringing in the personal notes. it rocks!
