oshanas first ep release with brouqade is reminiscent of summer and good times past

dana ruh and anthea have defied the merciless winter in their studio and the track like a river is the result. clean beats, bathing synths, vocals with telepathic powers driving onward, onward, onward, unexpectedly changing direction.

tune in: dana ruh brings brouqade back from summer holidays. an ep completely rounded, mesmerizing from first to last. sula wakes with vivid snares. precisely produced, finely tuned arrangements and driven by a straight beat and pulsating bass line, the track develops with its deep clubsound to a veritable groover.cautious in the beginning nebouxii gains its selfesteem, builds up subtly, pushes and drives forward and spreads its hypnotic appeal. the mood is constantly high and takes its time to fully develop. sulidae brings you back from the previous hypnosis and gives you insight in a different world: charming vocals glide on a steady synth line, when all around a poetic magic is revealed and some ingenious elements are pulled out of the hat.

crocosmia x sees dana ruh engaging with the sound of house. ramaria flava initiates a desperate groovy beat with clear and energetic vocals that open us out into peaktime. the track was made for us to dance! opuntia the bloomy intro of this ep comes with the voice of the artist yorba. calm and serene she tells us about her passion for rythm and sound while cumulatively the floor of funky house beats expands. the continuiation we find on the b-side is deep, dubby and clear. the beat wriggles around the hookline and here we have the track del sur. the sound of an organ goes ahead with different voices.

dana ruh’s brouqade has long been renowned for its many eclectic and unpredictable sounds. in that essence, the label’s latest signing is a fitting fit. kamran sadeghi is an nyc based electronic music producer who is well versed in unconventional soundscapes. as likely to release an electronic music ep as he is turn his hand to film scores or more ambient textures, sadeghi has collaborated with everyone from patti smith to berlin club, berghain. a live artist of considerable depth and panache, his signing to brouqade marks another high point in the label’s story.

bqd040.1 is a collection of remixes the label released during its early years. back then, the label intended to back up every release with a remix. the rhadoo remix was not just an amazing addition to pherox’s “gabrielle” track, but it was also featured on an ep released with new graphics. buck delivered an amazing interpretation of danilo schneider’s summer track “l’ecole”, that’s still very much a favourite at the label. last but not least, laurine frost’s remix of dana & nvelope’s “flowers”, one of dana’s first released tracks. frost gave the original a rich soundscape an extraordinary vibe. all of these remixes meant something special to the label, and now they’re all here for you to enjoy on one record…
