correspondant can finally reveal the release of the remixes for man powers debut lp, which was released last year on correspondant. a year in the making, the remix package features artists and friends hand-picked by both jennifer cardini and man power himself. disco halals moscoman remixes the baggy splendour of beilsteiner, creating a rolling and belching extended opus more focused toward the peak time dance floor. hivern discs jmii takes hunting swan and turns it inside out, exploring space with a cerebral, schizophrenic quality. alternatively, pale blue (mike simonetti) takes boys beware and re-imagines it as an aggressive drum workout. completing the package, suade, the artist who also mastered the original album, replaces ten’s balearic leanings with an idm sensibility, yet still retains the optimism of the original track. all 4 remixes manage to exist as distinct works in their own right, while paying homage to the magpie approach of the original long player.

this vinyl ep is a collaboration between paris label correspondant and germanys gomma records. remixes by los angeles finest psychedelic electronic producer secret circuit (beats in space records) and german shooting star lauer (partner of gerd janson at tuff city kids). why this ep? gomma has a long history with the paris scene. mathias munk modica who runs gomma (and sublabel toy tonics) has been living in france for many years. he worked with many parisian artists from dj chloe (on munks first album aperitivo 2004) to the ed banger crew or black strobe. probably apart of berlin there is no city in the world that saw more gomma events than paris. seems only a project with jennifer cardini missed. so jennifer invited mathias last year to send over tracks. decision was made fast. and so wurlitzer wank and the bösus bounce have come up on correspondant.

while we love to dance at correspondant, we have also been known to think from time to time to, so it s exciting for us to have been given the opportunity to combine the two things when presented with some new music from two of our favourite producers, marvin and guy. as such, correspondant 42 represents a more conceptual approach for the italian duo, informed by long countryside drives, the names of classic cars as learned from an illustrated childrens book, a yearning to move away from the pack of identikit dance music and a need to connect with their music in a physical way, as provided by the recorded hand clapping refrain running throughout the tracks.

correspondants 28th release, polina, delivers another brooding, evocative ep for the label, this time from the agents of time polyhedron: a fusion of ideas and concepts that make up a single reality. the italian trio of andrea di ceglie, fedele ladisa, and luigi tutolo came together in the summer of 2013, and their inaugural album was released via stem records in january of the following year. the group uses both analog and digital equipment to refine their unique amalgam of progressive, techno, and ambient music.

michel amato aka the hacker is without a doubt one of the most successful and accomplished french djs and producers. since 1992 he is part of the international techno szene, widely acclaimed as a solo artist as well as persuing thriving projects with miss kittin. he is a rare gem ... an artists who always stayed true to his style and his early musical influences of bands such as cabaret voltaire, throbbing gristle, einstürzende neubauten, depeche mode or joy division. for his new satori ep on correspondant he makes no exception! originally hailing from mexico, daniel proclaimed disco caveman and rising comeme (matias aguayos label), transforms michels white funk into a psychedelic disco track. the remix unmistakably bears his signature: it is a maloso. offsets remix is a crawling monster. he digged deep and the result is a dark and hypnotic remix of white funk.

marius bubat and georg conrad aka coma combine pop and house, techno and indie rock with an eclectic approach, creating highly recognizable music with an emotional impact. even though emerging just a short time ago, coma have already seen their share of travelling, with a recent appearance at sxsw 2012 and even a journey to vietnam. it was there the boys teamed up with norwegian dj charlotte bendiks, as they fought their way through the chaos of hanois traffic.
