diese doppel-lp aus dem hause bbe ist in erster linie für djs und beataffine produzenten gedacht. doch auch freunde eigentümlich-spezieller und wundervoll-mysteriöser sounds dürften ihre freude an dem vinyl haben. der sampler wurde von den beiden versierten kompilationsspezialisten mr thing und chris read zusammengestellt. er enthält eine außergewöhnliche sammlung von 23 library-stücken, die aus dem gigantischen archiv von cavendish music stammen. das 1937 als boosey & hawkes recorded music library gegründete unternehmen ist marktführer für produktionsmusik in großbritannien und weltweit mit dependenzen vertreten. mr thing und chris read erhielten erstmals 2014 im rahmen eines sampleprojekts zugang zum cavendish-archiv. bei ihren grabungen entdeckten die beiden eine sammlung mit aufnahmen aus den 1970er-jahren, die bis heute nichts von ihrer frische und originalität verloren haben. die schönsten perlen daraus finden sich auf -the library archive- wieder. sie reichen von tagträumerischen scores im stile lalo schifrins bis zu atmosphärischen proto-hip-hop-instrumentals.

daß die belgier humor und eine vorliebe für körperlichkeiten besitzen, weiß man spätestens seit ihrem 94er erfolgsalbum »voodoo-u«, welches dank des exquisiten artworks vor allem in den usa zunächst einige ernsthafte vertriebsprobleme sein eigen nannte.
»our little secret« dürfte es in dieser beziehung wohl etwas leichter haben, wenngleich sontitel wie »rubber doll«, »fingerlickin‹ good«, »pussy« oder »man s best friend« keinen hehl daraus machen, daß man die inhaltliche fixierung keineswegs geändert hat.
aber wozu auch?! passen das kreisen um sex, lust und obsessionen doch hervorragend zu ihrem brillanten gemisch aus industrial , techno, bigbeat und pop. sängerin jade 4u gibt die vokalsichere schlampe, während der rest der band spielsicher für zuweilen ironisierte härte sorgt.
alles, bloß keine langeweile verbreiten, scheint das motto gewesen zu sein. und so jagt ein grandioses musikstück das nächste, verwöhnt den hörer ein ums andere mal mit phantastischen refrains und bleibt dabei immer dicht am industrialisierten dancefloor.

soul jazz records’ new space, energy and light is a collection of music by early electronic and synthesizer pioneers (from the 1960s through the 1970s), mid-1970s proto-new age gurus and 1980s guerrilla d-i-y cassette-era electronic artists, spanning in total over a near 30-year time frame. all of these artists used electronic advancements in music technology as a means of exploring not only space and the idea of the future, but also of looking inwards to the soul and of creating music in harmony with the natural world.

in april of this year, donato dozzy took a set of mouth harps back to his parents house in the italian countryside and set about exploring the possibilities of that most basic of instruments. the mouth harp had been calling to dozzy ever since childhood, when he had discovered the marranzano on a holiday in sicily with this parents at the tail end of the 1970s. almost four decades later, dozzy had begun to see in this peculiar, ancient sound, the roots of the music hed been making and playing in clubs all these years. it was time to find out how far he could trace it all back. the loud silence is the result of those explorations, an accompanied deep-dive into childhood memory, social history and the roots of psychedelia.

2014 erschien *where the wild oceans end*, das zweite album der als poetin der nacht gefeierten berliner sängerin. mit einer limitierten 7-inch-single stellt andrea schroeder ihren song *until the end* vor. als besonderes extra gibt es auf der b-seite eine aufnahme des liedes zusammen mit dem deutschen filmorchester babelsberg. ein muss für alle fans, streng limitiert auf 500 exemplare.

nach dem erfolg von -drink the sea- und der 2011 folgenden ep -we can make the world stop- (beide auf dem eigenen label glass air veröffentlicht) katapultierte sich die band auf die oberen ränge der tourenden live-acts im bereich dance-music. dazu gehörten schlüsselspots auf major festivals, wie coachella, lollapalooza und electric daisy carnival. the glitch mob absolvierten ebenfalls schon eine eigene headline-tour durch die usa, europa (koko, brixton electric) und australien und verkauften dort prestigeträchtige venues aus. im februar 2014 kam ihr neues album -love death immortality-, was neue territorien erkunden, weniger introvertiert, aber trotzdem die glitch-mob-essenz wahrend.
