this project was inspired by my trip to home to my root land. cape verde island, after 54 years of being on this earth, music and fans of my music actually brought me home.

sven atterton�s much anticipated follow up to �the cove�, thematically named �the cape�, drops on his newly formed cruise club records. anyone that�s experienced the wonder of sven live, is well aware of the prowess and apparent effortlessness he possesses on stage. as at home laying it down on a synth, as he is tearing it up on the bass, �the cape� showcases modern synth boogie as good as anyone at present.

building a formidable reputation as an artist with a diverse set of approaches in the field of electronic music, ukranian producer cape cod delivers his debut album on kiev house in a fine display of musicianship. from the opening track -among the stars- (which features constantine on vocal) it s clear that this will be more than a straight up collection of dancefloor tracks. there are indeed some upbeat house tracks to be enjoyed, not least on the razor sharp garage bumper -we don t have to-, but there s also equal space given over to more introspective jams such as -put u down-.

real name fernando cappelletti, the rosario native�s early releases arrived on airdrop records, followed by appearances on esperanza before launching savor music alongside jorge savoretti in 2011. since then the label has hosted the likes of felipe valenzuela, martinez, kastil, marcman and franco cinelli whilst garnering a reputation as one of argentina�s key purveyors of house and techno. the album�s subterranean aesthetics are present from the beginning, with mesmerising tape echoes in �the real�, deep pads in �trb� and the rhythmic energy of �rainforest�. �geibi� then demonstrates intricate pops and glitches before �in amour� settles for a compelling groove. �flavor� is then a percussive number with a hypnotizing appeal until �faiser� concludes the album with a punchy, dancefloor driven workout.

andres zacco & cape, two old friends and part of the esperanza family come back to the label to deliver a two track ep full of deepness and dubby yet summerish feeling. melodies, pads. chords, strings... just perfect to watch the sun rise from the sea on the beach.

the process of artistic creation is fundamentally determined by the environment of the artist. some cities and geographical locations are synonymous with the artistic techniques and crafts in which their populations became specialized. the muted and subtle sunsets of monets paintings are nothing else but a truthful interpretation of the actual nuances of a parisian twilight - along with a great dose of the artistic wizardry.
these cities and their artistic communities, are the legendary ones that remain in history. defending a fantastic track record in electronic music throughout recent times, rosario - the capital city of the santa fe province in argentina - is one of these places.
franco cinelli, nico purman, andres zacco and jorge savoretti are the leading figures who have, over the last decade, turned rosario into the great sound lab that it is. while developing their own sound and story individually, these boys never forget about their common origin, and the vibe that truly unites them together. on this occasion, they all come around remixing their young friend capes >le post< ep.
this record is pure mother of pearl. it is a tribute to rosario and its prolific actors.
