for good or bad reasons, you cannot see it but you can feel it. the catholics call it spirit, science call it energy, but in the streets and among all of us, is where it is best described.
as technology consumed the antikytherian empire, the council of conjunction had no choice but to take desperate measures: probe 2187 was launched into the event horizon of markarian 335. its mission was to find an escape route into an alternate reality. a hazardous mission and as the orbit failed, the probe made one last transmission before it was submerged into oblivion. the phantom regiment, with their time manipulation abilities, managed to capture these signals. trusted sources claim transmitters 1200 & 1210 are the only reliable outputs for these remnants of a technologically advanced society. the antikytherian empire, believed to be the first cosmic empire, was never heard of again
after the lost tapes, the found tapes and the hidden tapes, electronic emergencies releases the closet tapes - a compilation of queer electronic music on pink vinyl. spacemaker and leather e have rounded up an unorthodox and fierce combination of queer legends, contemporary queer heroes and future queer stars. these include andy butler from hercules & love affair, eddy de clercq, bezier from the honey soundsystem and hard ton together with our own popsimonova. we are proud to be queer and this is what we love.
pavel ludin returns to poker flat wax with a gripping four-tracker showcasing his myriad of talents. born and raised in eastern siberia, pavel iudin found his way to the underground scenes of moscow and saint petersburg where he firmly established his credentials. the probe ep finds him at the height of his powers, serving up some serious burners. ‘probe 2′,,,, is a throbbing, deep roller with shimmering synths and a shuffling, evolving groove - one for keeping the floor on lock whatever the situation. ‘halo’ has more classic feel to it, clearly a nod to the chicago masters of the 90s, but maintaining a tough and fresh feel that is all ludin’s own. half way though, things really open up into thick, swingy vibe via a killer bassline and snappy percussion. ‘probe 3′,,,, is more acidic outing - although never resorting to the iconic 303, the track is a lysergic journey into dubbed out tech-house. closing out the ep is ‘groundlevel’ - a driving, loopy groover that uses ludin’s feel for atmosphere and tension to the max. the whole ep exudes a steely-eyed mastery of the studio and the dance floor - making pavel iudin one to watch over the next months.
more early support from amandra (ahrpe), antonio de angelis, arnaud le texier, blndr, dj sandrien, edanticonf, elle, nima khak, oscar mulero, refracted, retina.it, rraph, samuli kemppi, shaded explorer, subforms, the noisemaker, tommy four seven, unam zetinebm, victor martinez / error etica, vilix among others.
industry sheds all personalized effort and tests how far you can get by using presets only. all sounds are factory presets of 3 obsolete 1990s japanese workstation synths, all effects are presets, all notes are quantized and most panning is purely accidental (laid out in the preset sounds). industry doesnt rely on successful presets, but on failed sounds of now obsolete synthesizers - industrial assumptions of where culture will go, but where it chose not to. the result is a surprisingly pleasant listening experience with effortless grooves and rich textures - and mildly demonic connotations. from smooth to kicking - a conveyor belt enjoying mood swings. as beautiful as the scheduled meeting of a pvc sheet and a thermoform mould on a workbench.
coming off an outstanding 12 inch,, release on dixon avenue basement jams this mysterious artist returns w/an ep that ranges from slamming acid and bass heavy techno to a thick house jam with a dizzying jazz influence.
deep space acid ambient techno on a 10 track mini-album by roswell return, who made his debut in 2009 with the massive iftodex c0001 release. ten priceless detroit influenced techno excursions through electronic galaxies for adventurous djs and tripping psychonauts. available in a very limited vinyl pressing.
