perhaps it is something in the water or just plain vodka, we really have no idea but one thing is for sure - there is something special about those moscow disco heads. they sure know how to find a perfect beat and re-edit it to perfection. after lay-far it is now time for arsenii to step into the basic fingers arena. both sides on this 12 are filled with jazz-funk and library infused disco at its best. *allegria* sounds like bob james is jamming with the headhunters and on the flip *turbo* with its generous use of synthesizers almost has an outer space theme. essential indulgence for disco heads & connoisseurs everywhere.

our afro-latin warrior jose marquez is back once again on basic fingers with two new percussion infected workouts. those familiar with jose marquez s previous works will not be disappointed as this might be his strongest release yet. on quinto y bongo he goes on dark tribal journey with hints of electronic layers and some serious bongo action. the flip track canto del caribe is more direct & to the point with a full on percussion assault and fierce latin chants. a proper floor filler!

alma negra is not only a mountain in the cordillera de la ramada range of the andes mountains, it is also a collective who are based in basel, switzerland. the collective is made up of miajica, dario rohrbach & dersu figueria. they are passionate diggers who loves playing music from all over the world & had their debut last year on the infamous sofrito label with heavy edits from the islands of cabo verde. this release on basic fingers is unique in every way, the keyword of this ep is rhythm. the trio has created something truly imaginative, captivating, and capable of tingling every muscle in your body. three wonderfully inventive & accessible tracks & another basic fingers sureshot.

another debut on basic fingers, this time we head over to japan and the mysterious kgo production team. the first edit is >six millions steps< by rahni harris, a well known soul drenched disco classic that has been slightly pitched down and infused with more boogie loveliness.
>something special< by donald byrd and the blackbyrds is both a pianists workout and a lovely jazz-disco track full of melodic character. kgos edit owes respect to the original and is a perennial favourite in the basic fingers camp.

continuing on from the massive kon 12 inch released on basic fingers we welcome back our good friend kok. on the a side koko delivers a real uplifting feel-good disco/boogie scorcher that will make you wish for those hot summer parties. stay with me by norman connors is perhaps not his most known track but we will guarantee this bad boy will be the prime time number for many djs as koko really takes this track to another level. soulfulness at its very best! on the b-side burning up by imagination has, since its release almost 30 years ago ripped up dancefloors all over with its piano chord hook and a steady bassline. this mix is an updated version with lots more production details and plenty of koko flavour. its already been tried and tested in the basic finger kitchen with an exceptional result.

the nyc edit master kon (from kon & amir) has, after a bunch of hyped reworks on hands of time, bbe and on track delivered basic fingers a 12 inch with two killer disco reworks. we start with windy city >chicago<, a fierce disco edit that kon twisted just the right way! its playful and soulful disco at its very best. but the highlight of the release is possibly hidden on the flip. here we get a +10 min uplifting disco rework of sylvesters high energy hit >mighty real< which now sounds way fresher (and better) than the original if you ask us. yes, we are talkin real dance music on basic fingers ... a label with the goods!
