eduardo de la calle releases three new records, two on analog solutions, and one on sub label suprawax. musically, the tracks tie in with where he left of, featuring held back percussion, hypnotic and prolonged use of slowly modulated patterns. several tracks even do away completely with hi-hats. once in a while the almost trademark tweak of the delay tears the tracks open that are otherwise reduced to the essence of a deep groove. these records mark a new high point in de la calles musical output: they meld an awareness of techno history - and, let us be candid, sometimes samples out of it - with a tripped-out understanding for the passing time on the dance floor. the result is a form of distinctly contemporary dance music. all the same, de la call’s music eludes present day trends of going overtly retro and being contently at rest in nothing but epigonism. nor are they the maximised-to-death tracks spun of the present day techno functionalist goading crowds by the means of formalistic upbuilds over and over. his sound carves out a niche quite its own: its the ultimate modern day dj tool. all records have been pressed in a run of 320 copies and come in inside-out natural cardboard sleeves. no represses are planned at present.
