sébastien léger delivers two solid originals and is backed up by arjuna schiks’ trippy dreamy remix. oracle has a french house sound to it characteristic of léger with a moroderesque arpeggio bassline. his excellent production skills shine brightest when he plays the keys in the second break. trytosphere is a somewhat new direction for the frenchman, a sunny track with a balearic feel to it. a real summer soundtrack. arjuna schiks adds a trippy take on the original with a nice upbeat energetic groove layered on top of a spacey bell and synth soundscape which echoes in the background.

radioblues take me home on fenou no.16 is the sweetest piece of minimalish housy electronica in a long time on this label. as a mere mortal you cannot resist the dreamy voice of sylwia van der wonderland. you just want to fulfil her wish to take her home and get caught up in her world. solely the music itself makes it impossible to leave the dance floor and thats thanks to robert - the rocket scientist - who is the other half of this organic duo. with remixes by umami, arjuna schiks and le prix you can choose from various styles, but when the last beats fade youre almost forced to flip to b side and back to the a and so on and so forth

in his biography, arjuna schiks is described as a producer with an ability to bring the human out of the machine, unleashing our emotions. after listening to doha , we were affected in the same way. simply put, his music makes us feel good. melodic accents and danceable rhythms blend in purposeful unison, and it is with the doha ep that arjuna will join wir. he has appeared on gem records, manual music, traum, and trapez, with original eps, and has recently graced a number of labels with remixes, leaving his signature on each ep. his production output is impressive, and like most greats, his sound continues to grow and develop with each studio session. arjuna resides in amsterdam, where he has developed a distinct and solid sound, and a loyal fan base. he performs live close to every weekend all over holland. we invited arjuna to come and perform as the special guest at our treibstoff 14.5 year anniversary party for his first ever performance on german soil. his set was received with smiling faces and hands in the air, coming from the brimming dance floor of colognes gewölbe, a warm welcome to say the least. we had the pleasure of spending some time together after the event, and his character is just like his music. he is a cheerful and passionate person with a bright sense of humor and we are elated to welcome him to wir. keep your ears open, for there is more to come..

everything is in solution. no more here, no more when - the sounds loosing their way while creating something new and mysterious. waterkristallen is a transparent and absolute haunting track from arjuna schiks which will be released on einmusika records at the end of july. its a deep and tech influenced number with dizzying atmospheric parts and a lot of power on the other sight - its a dancefloor-number detached from the seasons. arjuna schiks was inspired by new age, meditation and world music, a hippie-child from amsterdam - that is what you can also hear in his productions one more day and my cup of tea. they are so strong and free - good vibes for your soul and precious diamonds for the clubs. once again einmusik is preparing the stage for a young and great producer and it is not supposed to be a short-time collab.

dark star safari, a newly formed group featuring samuel rohrer, jan bang, erik honoré and eivind aarset, present its eponymous recording debut, an evocative song-driven album.

max loderbauer, who has so far made consistently engaging contributions to the arjunamusic family, is back to lend his unique interpretive skills to the master recordings for the brightbird album by joão paulo esteves da silva, mário franco and samuel rohrer. loderbauer has set himself up for a challenge, since the original album’s completely improvised flow of small-ensemble, conversational jazz feels complete enough without outside intervention. however, loderbauer’s role as electronics operator in the similarly attuned ambiq trio has already shown that, through his mastery of tone color, he has a talent for teasing out the additional hidden details within an apparently ‘complete’ sonic environment. it’s a task he manages to accomplish without ever overriding or contradicting the cohesive message provided by his collaborators.

the second ep of samuel rohrer’s range of regularity album presents two more striking reinterprations. burnt friedman’s own dramatic interpre-tation of “microcosmoism” pairs up his consciousness of deep bass and analog inventiveness with rohrer’s continually transforming sound ob-jects, making for a flowing and wordless narrative that simply dares listen-ers to stop paying attention. feeling more like a collaboration in “real time” than a remix proper, friedman brings his characteristic ‘mad scientist’ wit to the proceedings and delivers an energetic piece that simply glows in the dark.

the second ep of samuel rohrer’s range of regularity album presents two more striking reinterprations. these new remixes provide an intriguing parallax view of the original tracks, using the percussive eclecticism of the parent lp as a starting point from which to journey into sonically vibrant, feature-rich territories. the production specialists on hand for this project include burnt friedman and ricardo villalobos. villalobos, has already formed a strong working relationship with rohrer’s ambiq trio, lends his talents to both of the eps. (ror remixes i - amel-ep716). nonplace label boss friedman, as well, has carved out a unique space for himself within the electronic world, logging several decades’ worth of releases that with dub-wise production sensibility, skewed humor, and riots of tone color. though each individual remix has its own character, they are all united in their ability to provide a quick cure for fatigue with the common “loop”: though not improvised, they are strung together from fleeting phrases that evolve as if they are taking on a life independent of their creators. burnt friedman’s own dramatic interpretation of “microcosmoism” pairs up his consciousness of deep bass and analog inventiveness with rohrer’s continually transforming sound objects, making for a flowing and wordless narrative that simply dares listeners to stop paying attention. feeling more like a collaboration in “real time” than a remix proper, friedman brings his characteristic ‘mad scientist’ wit to the proceedings and delivers an energetic piece that simply glows in the dark. this is complemented nicely by villalobos’ remix of “microcosmoism”. it carries the energy level of the 1st ep over to a new disk, while heavily experimenting with feelings of emotional ambiguity. at some points aggressive and at other points merely curious, this mischievous collage of attitudes feels as inspired by the questing jazz of sun ra as it is by continental techno. contemplative keyboard runs, enthusiastic spring-like percussion and malfunctioning machine chatter all coalesce to make this a most fascinating piece of multi-purpose electronic music.

samuel rohrer, the multi-faceted, forward-thinking percussio- nist and producer behind the arjunamusic label, the ambiq trio and a wealth of other musical projects, has set out on his own with a new full-length solo album range of regularity as a double ep set with a deceptive title if ever there was one: the sonic experience of this record is, in fact, a highly irregular one (and a highly welcome one at that). constructed almost entirely upon electronically-treated recordings of acoustic in- strumentation, with a bare minimum of synthesizer voicing, ror vibrates with a compelling organicism as if old-growth black forest trees had conspired together to make an album of ultra-modern improvisational music. indeed, the record feels limned with contributions from some other intelligence, despite being a clear extension of the fluid, percussion-driven musical technique that rohrer has exhibited in previous years.

songs without words, suggestive and emotional transparency and connection, contemplation and departure, meditation and attack: this music fascinates from the very beginning. it has no need to boast or become talkative, but stays true to itself as it casually develops its poignant pulse and lets it grow, and grow. the web of sounds soon begins to radiate from within, it inspires images in ones head, and invites to musing and introspection. against the background of a wide horizon the details of their music join, develop a life of their own, and lift off to collective flights of ideas. this music is an invitation to listen without prejudice, offering a way to get lost in dreams while, at the same time, remaining solidly grounded and completely awake.

tyler friedman brings a hyper-realism to the table which meshes in very interesting ways with rohrer’s conversational percussive instincts. sounds like villalobos meets burnt friedmann.

finale sessions is really pleased to launch new series finale sessions limited with berlin up and coming act arcarsenal. duo comprised of alan mathias and etienne dauta, both founders of bass cadet records and its dedicated vinyl store located in the heart of the german capital, they are also active members of the large underground quality family. arcarsenal have already started to establish themselves as proponent of a crossover sound, mixing many influences from jazz, house, ambient to dub and techno.
