for the past three years, allez-allez have developed an enviable reputation as two of londons most in demand and respected bloggers, djs and remixers. their weekly podcasthas featured guestappearances , they have played host to kompakts series of london parties at plastic people. well received, forward thinking allez-allez remixes for the likes of fever ray, simian mobile disco, hot chip and telepathe are now followed by a debut single for colognes highly respected kickboxer imprint. part of kompakts associated labels, the track (entitled >defeatist<) is a growling analogue peak time stormer, backed with >slump< a melancholic kraut epicdescribed by optimos jd twitch as sounding >like chris & cosey riding a flying hoover over the city in blade runner<. the package features a slamming remix by border community s ricardo tobar, which has already beenrocking the crowds from the record boxes of none other than bc boss james holden and krautronica master four tet now for some time! also included are two rerubs by winners of the foem remix competition - soundcasterand karizmxxxx that twist the original into exciting new shapes for diverse dancefloors.
allez allez are one of those early 80s hidden gems of the belgian new wave dance scene who shone so brightly for a few years (81 – 85) and then were gone – but not forgotten! based around the writing and production nucleus of brussels based kristiaan debusscher and nicolas fransolet a third dimension was added by american vocalist sarah osbourne and early hi tempo hits such as african queen, allez allez and shes stirring up became global club classics.
the original allez allez track dates from 1982 (!). the belgian funky new wave band was very successful during those early eighties days, but this was without a doubt their biggest tune. our norwegian homies lindstroem & prins thomas took care of the remix on the flipside. northern quality as usual!
