drawing on a pedigree of lush synth experimentation and cutting drum arrangements, alfredo mazzilli has been pushing his own brand of hypnotic techno over the past several years, charting releases with lanthan audio, weekend circuit and edit select. now, blankstairs is proud to announce the first u.s.-based release for the italian producer with vanaheimr, a pair of new tracks coupled with remixes from clay wilson and hiver.

italian producer alfredo mazzilli presents us with logical strength, his second ep on weekend circuit. across 4 tracks he expresses his own unique take on the deepest strains of techno and it s outer reaches. ep opener logical strength is a throbbing piece of driving, menacing wormhole music with heavy arpeggiated sounds and rock solid, incessant drum-programming, leaving nothing standing in it s wake it is a firm statement of intent. nuvole sees the pace change slightly, adopting more of an eerie, borderline hallucinatory feel. the track unfolds beautifully with heavenly pads and synth swells draped across some tribally infused drums. on side 2 we have a stellar remix of nuvole from eminent swedish producer evigt mörker who travels a more subdued, sedate path with his interpretation. finishing off this 4 track excursion we are drawn into the beatless, introspective terrain of parhelion . a beautifully nuanced and subtle way to close things. washes of synth and atmosphere embrace us as we travel onwards, deeper into the night. alfredo mazzilli shows us once again his own individual and unique style on this ep, another essential chapter in the weekend circuit story.

label owner, christian gerlach recruited the young and very talented alfredo mazzilli, which already showed his skills with his latest releases on edit select records or planet rhythm. in the ep, which is dedicated to the babylonian gods, alfredo takes us into worlds of sound that reminds us of a run through the jungle and arrivals at mighty temples. shamash opens the ep and prepares the mood for an ritual which is gonna to be celebrated. wrong assessment focuses the piece in its core, but in a deeper way and holds on to a heavy baseline. ishtar reminiscent of an ceremony and the ep reaches its climax which is also continued in the iori remix. the high­energy piece marduck could be considered as an joyfully extract from this distant world. with this packet lanthan audio combines the heavy architecture of old temples, but with an ease that welcomes the coming months with joyful anticipation.

newest episode on cdt & la chinerie s -nation techno- special series. like it was done on sister -nation house-, it was time to focus on italy. this compilation of 8 tracks by 8 artists gives us an overview of the italian scene and its different components. from the finest -italian- techno with it s atmospheric pads, repetitive, progressive and mental sequences to more audacious stuff between techno, idm, electro, breakbeat & breakcore.

amaranth ep is the latest various artists effort through the planet rhythm label. this compilation features sounds by dubiosity, alfredo mazzilli, space above and exilles. also this package contains a mesmerizing remix by glaswegian artist edit select which we are proud to add to the label roster. soundwise, amaranth ep is covering a lot ground within modern day techno. surely a package that will appear to lovers of multiple modes within the genre.

for our fifth release we invited four of our favorite producers to take turns in remixing ken karter’s latest ep on our label. stanislav tolkachev, inland, alfredo mazzilli and array access all managed to apply their own characteristic sound, resulting in a remix ep that could not be more versatile.

side b begins with david att of att series out of spain, with a dynamic, heavy hitting track titled spirits. from malta, hail blk brings church blk, with his signature dark, spacey yet groovy vibe. label founders motionen end the record with escape sequence, blending acid, arps, and big pads for a unique cinematic feel.

it might not always be obvious, but music as escapism can serve as a radical social statement. what some may see as daydreaming or imagination of impossible realities, can constitute a sort of revolution of thought, the seed of a more human and sentient worldview. although on a first listen, high-level basis, it may seem as if the music contained in informa’s 10th release is a series of psychedelic, dystopian and otherworldly tools for escape, it might actually be a proposition for improvement, a route to self-discovery, a reflection on the true nature of our surroundings. although at no point in this release such high concepts are made explicit, there is a consistency in vision and methods present in the art created by the peers that label founder and owner deepbass has selected for this very special, celebratory release. encapsulating the product of eight minds, eight visions, in a common concept for evolution in unity.
