bereits während der letzten drive-by truckers tour begann patterson hood am vorliegenden album zu arbeiten. ursprünglich hatte er geplant ein buch zu schreiben, dann stellte er aber schnell fest, dass die texte sehr an songformaten angelegt waren und sie sich nahtlos in seine musikalischen entwürfe einfügten. das album wurde in seiner heimatstadt athens/georgia aufgenommen, und er ließ sich dabei von fast der gesamten drive-by truckers crew musikalisch unterstützen. ein album für fans von wilco, neil young, alberta cross und natürlich drive-by truckers.
