nax acid returns to phorma with botanic investigations on artemis ever dark grounds. a purple flower on the moon is powerful yet melancholic and will catapult your mind into outer space. on the flip side iori adds a more dubby feel to the track and transforms it into an hypnotically turning lunar probe

the environmental radiation dose on the moon ep is the first collaboration between zooloft and aconito records. the two labels are twinned in exploring the limits of techno, experimenting with structures and sequences and ultimately arriving at the place where the deep and dark sublimes. the ep opens with the child that was watching the moon a track lifted right out of the drone-techno hymnal. it starts with muddied, subterranean bass and builds not just outwards but inwards. filled with obtuse references and metallic rasps the atmosphere created is obscure and spectral. on the reverse the moon that was watching the child sounds like its been exposed to radiation. the sounds are distorted, as if created from samples of the genome unzipping. the arrangement is stunning, bells filter in and out and the layers smelt into one another. there is awe at work here, but its an awe that remains underpinned by terror. this release, mastered in berlin at the legendary calyx studio, is something of a record collectors dream. it will be released on solid silver vinyl in a very limited edition of just 200 copies. za000ltd should be enjoyed on wax, this wont be available digitally.

no moon blends electro, breaks, acid and uk bass into a forward-thinking club ep for the 7th release from berlin based collective, mechatronica.
opening with “sirens”, the a-side plunges straight into deep and breaky sub-domains, before sliding on to the brighter and melodic, but equally heavy workout, “bathtub dub”.
on the flip, electro and uk bass come together on gloomy tool “where am i”, before “acid ix” finishes off the record with a blissful, distorted acid frenzy for the floor.

after already putting out great efforts from the likes of josh wink and jesse rose, moon harbour serves up a second selection of remixes of key tracks from matthias tanzmann s 2016 album, momentum.

over 37 minutes of deep dream bliss and celestial beats. featuring vocals by ed macfarlane and remixes by nick mackrory, len leise and marius circus.

2015 saw damian lazarus create his most ambitious project to date in the ancient moons, producing a full-length album message from the other side co-produced by james ford (simian mobile disco, arctic monkeys, florence & the machine), with a wide assortment of vocalists and collaborators from around the world. they went on to support roisin murphy on tour, gain wide acclaim from the likes and lazarus became the final cover-star of the year in the uks mixmag magazine. now the tracks from message the other side have been reinterpreted by an assortment of producers for a remix album. three of these remixes will be released as an ep entitled remixes from the other side (part i), featuring remixes from red axes, acid pauli and mehmet asian. the second remix ep will following in a few weeks.

up first, juice machine is a barreling cut with pinging drums that ride up and down in infectious style. carefully treated vocals echo up top and add a dub flavour as subtle rave horns and old school motifs also colour the groove. when remixed by re.you, the track becomes a more subdued, deeper cut with spraying synths and a sense of late night paranoia in the grooves. lastly, badass acid is a minimal cut with warm pads, hiccuping sine waves and a growing sense of synthetic tension. it s a masterful bit of slow burning craftsmanship that has icy hi hats to die for.

bitter moon has criss-crossed europe to gather a trio of heavy house hitters for lunes de fiel vol. 2. creme organization prodigy innershades gets the show on the road with the synth slamming groove of -moments of euphoria-. new beat memories bounce alongside rumbling rhythms in track guaranteed to ignite speakers. next stop is germany with snuff crew and -your hands-. the jack experts fillet their trademark raw edges for a smooth and soulful piece of late night chitown. smoke curls around chords, claps are softened as samples turn in a twilight haze. the final destination, italy, is bathed in the 303 sunshine of -#acid-. the white rabbit recordings founder uses the building blocks of chicago to produce a fluid floor filler. cymbals, cow-bells, toms and snares are soaked in a devilish brew of acid. bohemian body jerk to a 4/4 beat to bring down the curtain on this latest instalment of lunes de fiel.
