after releasing their first two releases on one disc, the third release on amsterdam imprint working titles is a release on its own. label founders scott franka & kaap are behind the label s third release that features two epic tracks from the dutch pair and again finds them exploring new and exciting techno territory with their lively machine jams.
first track poise i is a deep and dubbed out techno track with deft synths slowly shapeshifting and bringing sombreness to the quickened groove. it’s late night music to zone you out with sparse but rich detailing to keep your mind occupied and it gets ever-busier over the course of thirteen enthralling minutes. then poise ii is a 16 minute masterpiece that is watery and dubby. it has undulating synth currents and increasingly textured snares. building to a peak then pulling back, with occasional freaky vocal sounds and sci-fi motifs, it is a truly cinematic piece that closes out an ambitious ep.

it is time for the third owner of taapion records to make it on the spaceship. for the fifth release but mainly his first ep, awb presents two original tracks both remixed by his brothers in arms.

sensible techno with refined layers of sounds and powerful percussion on a foundation of solid subbass on this all paris affair. made in paris is the key word of this second release on taapion records. all these young artists are part of a new french techno movement. antigone or roman poncet already crossed borders (indigo area, concrete, figure). other just emerging from the dark basements of paris. shlomo, pvnv and awb deliver some solid work on the taapion label.

some quality techno on this new label from paris including a beauty of a remix by conforce! for this first vinyl ep, shlomo, one of the label’s owner arrives with two original tracks with a deep atmosphere crossing classic techno drums. the other side presents two remixes, one from the edinburgh’s techno master stephen brown with a fine old school reshaping. next comes the conforce’s remodel which will talk to all ambient and minimalistic techno, 100% as we love his sound. beautiful contracts between the liquid beauty and massive force of techno.

amsterdam producers and good friends kaap and scott franka have come together to start a new label and live act: working titles. kaap is best known as the label boss of tape cassette label yield, scott just debuted with his first 12” on quartet series. together they perform primarily hardware based live sessions. for their label they improvise, jam and record to press these takes only on vinyl. the idea is to capture the real, raw and authentic improvised moments as soon as possible after they happen, hence the name working titles. this first vinyl release features the wt001 and wt002 outtakes on one disc. these sessions were recorded by the pair in an abandoned cabin in the woods in the south of holland, surrounded by nature.
