ori alboher, a.k.a. ori, a berlin based singer/songwriter and producer from jerusalem releases his second solo album “1986”. after his move to berlin, influenced by the city’s abundance of scenes and anonymity, he returned to his very core. “1986” creates a genre somewhere between electronica, r&b, pop and ambient, blending organic soundscapes with electronic influences, exposing his fragile and disarming voice with modified human vocals, loops and beats. ori builds up melodic, rhythmic and repetitive structures that pull you into his music, creating moods that oscillate between intimacy and distant depths. like swimming in a pleasant ocean yet struggling to keep your breath… the vinyl release includes a download code.

west side story became the smash hit stage musical of 1957 through a combination of leonard bernstein’s dramatic score with jerome robbins exuberant dance routines. the long awaited film version arrived in 1961 and starred richard beymer as tony, rita moreno as anita and natalie wood as maria. its original soundtrack album clocked up 53 weeks on top of the billboard stereo albums chart and 12 on the mono, making it the album with the most weeks at number 1 of the rock (post 1955) era.

the third ep of the trilogy works following the releases d6&d7 from sundance in 2012 and flying one hand from op.disc in 2015 comes this one. a) side is the unreleased dub version of the previously released same titled track. b) side is the fine interweave of radiqs percussion + fumiyas base/beat groove with soul vocals. the sound is different from the style of dirtriix works and the each has its distinctive own groove.

*one hand in the air* bezieht sich beispielsweise auf *so appalled* von kanye west - manfred mann hat dessen original nun neu arrangiert. mit the prodigy und disco boys verfährt manfred mann genauso. zudem liest sich die gästeliste beeindruckend: till brönner spielt auf jedem zweiten stück trompete, kris kristofferson leiht einem stück seine stimme und kanye west ist natürlich auch zu vernehmen. zudem wagt sich manfred mann an neuinterpretationen von klassikern wie *light my fire* oder *we will rock you* - absichtlich stücke, die weltweit hinlänglich bekannt sind. manfred mann erklärt: *gerade weil jeder die stücke in- und auswendig kennt, habe ich in meinen interpretationen die optimale freiheit. wenn ich passagen weglasse oder neu arrangiere, denkt der hörer diese ja trotzdem mit*. neuinterpretationen - von bob dylan bis bruce springsteen - haben manfred manns gesamte karriere geprägt, *lone arranger* führt diese tradition somit fort. und keine frage: das album bleibt bei aller konzeption typisch manfred mann, nicht zuletzt weil die spielfreude am keyboard vernehmbar ist.
