its time to deliver the second ep from adana twins latest mix compilation and with this one we set the focus to the more organic and off kilter leanings from lehar, sbth, acid pauli, musumeci and stereocalypse. kicking things off is italys lehar with his super slick ‘blue wolf where robust percussions culminate in a potent groove laying the foundation for lush sonic melodies that transport you into uniquely sublime spaces. sbth follows with the exceptionally unique ‘4w1r6 where they forgo the standard four-to-the-floor approach and employ a distinguished and uncommonly unique 3/4 time signature to full effect creating a swelling and brooding number assuring a definite, clear memory long after it ends. flipping to the b-side we see the renowned acid pauli in top form as he relies heavily on thick organic percussion and plush musicality with his ‘greetings from orgonon before switching gears as musumeci delivers a stunner with ‘invaders where past meets present as disco, techno and house all meet in one harmonious culmination. to round out the ep, stereocalypses ‘jubeelee! is an expertly crafted venture into the modern techniques of infectious afro-house concluding an extremely well rounded ep showcasing the diversity of adana twins selection and diversity.

as always, the return of ruede hagelstein is inevitable and with each return he ups the ante tenfold showcasing his ever growing prowess behind the studio door. it seems as if, with each ruede ep, the amount of elements utilized shrinks while at the same time the sound grows in power and dominance and that could not be better exemplified than here. consisting of two originals and a remix from the one and only martin buttrich, the ep is a gross display of well thought out, mature dance floor jewels. opening the short player is hagelsteins ‘dematerialize feat. justin evans where a sinister yet soothing vocal sets the tone for the entire track, laying the groundwork for a gorgeous bass drum and shimmers of distant percussion carry us into celestial spaces. ‘forward vision is up next and follows suit by relying on a brooding minimal groove to drive the shimmers of glistening atmospherics and sparkling sonics optimal for dizzy and delirious club moments. last but certainly not least we turn to the legend who is martin buttrich to twist the original ‘dematerialize feat. justin evan into a more straightforward composition with his signature stylings opening the doors of accessibility to a wider demographic of disc jockeys resulting in a track that stretches the playability to a wide range of disc jockeys

it was nearly a year ago when these two graced with their hugely successful track ‘hope’ on our ‘watergate xv’ various artist compilation. matthias meyer and ryan davis come together again to deliver the stunning ‘love letters from sicily’ where infectious organic grooves pave the way for a flourishing well of emotions in the form of lush pads and shimmering sonics that unfold into a tale of epic cinematic proportions. from start to finish it’s a intimate piece of aural imagery, yet the duo always keep a keen percussive focus making it ideal for any dancefloor moment. to complement ‘love letters from sicily’, we’ve enlisted the one and only john digweed to rework meyer and davis’ original of ‘hope’, and with no surprise, he’s given it the master’s touch. staying true to the original, while at the same time reinventing the storyline and constructing tension by saving the powerful harmonies for a later climax, he’s crafted a revision that’s both driving and timeless.

its been a year and a half since we last saw la fleur grace watergate records with a proper ep, having been featured on remix duties for sashas trigonometry and her contribution femton to the celebrated 15 years compilation. so her brand new outbreaker ep arrives just in time to curb any impatience you might have waiting for her signature blend of house and techno aesthetics fused with modern production techniques that sets her apart from her peers. la fleur kicks things off with a wild heaving bass line and crisp, distinctive organic claps on ‘devils sigh setting the tone for the hypnotic groove that soon turns into a high energy burner of explosive bursts and an incredibly unique lead guaranteeing an absolute hit. it only gets better when one of the hottest acts on the scene, tuff city kids, lend their talents for a remix and turn devils sigh into an analog heavy, future-retro banger thats as different as it is the same as the original, creating a perfect alternative to the already killer original. wrapping things up, la fleur takes it a little slower and deeper with outbreaker by utilizing lush organic percussion and washed out guitars to build a tune that will be the anthem for early mornings, open airs and beach sessions alike. we couldnt be happier to have the first lady of watergate back at the controls and we think you will agree.

marco resmann returns to watergate after a productive stint at the red bull music studios in cape town with two stellar cuts featuring local heroes deep aztec and black soda. tack on a remix from the one and only oliver huntemann and another revision from resmann himself and you have the ‘babylon side ep. teaming up to kick things off, resmann, black soda and deep aztec embrace the cultural sounds of africas organic percussion and vocal prowess to create a tour de force tune perfectly balance between flashing club lights and vast open skies. following suit, ‘abadala sees marco again with deep aztec for a lush ride into deep emotional spaces by applying mesmerizing syncopated rhythms and spellbinding vocals ideal for deeper or more sentimental dance floor moments. up next is techno legend oliver huntemann who, playing after resmann earlier this year at the 15 years of watergate event at warung beach club in brazil enjoyed his set and the two hit it off, so logically he was asked to lend his trademark sound for a revision of ‘babylon side and he twists the original into a heavy techno belter complete with sinister sonics and fever inducing sirens. wrapping things up is marco resmann himself with his own take on ‘babylon sides and delivers a wild and twisted version of gargantuan low end and psychedelic shimmers of the original vocal resulting in a killer tune with a ton of attitude.

as summer peaks, we bring you the brand new series watergate remixes where standout tracks from our discography are remixed and retouched by some of our favorite artists. kicking off the first installment we have matthias meyer and jimi jules stepping up to deliver their twist on two big tunes from heavy-hitters butch and henrik schwarz. first up is matthias remix of butchs cosmic tale shahrzad, and he dishes out a truly timeless piece of dance floor euphoria. with his trademark organic groove and lush swirling pads meyer guides us through a heavenly journey into the distant reaches of sonic elation. on the flip side, jimi jules brings his a-game with a revision of henrik schwarz classic words in return by demonstrating an incredibly mature restraint of precise and calculated efforts resulting in an enchanting trip of dreamy aural pleasures.

for our next release we welcome back two of hamburg’s finest and most recent international exports: adana twins. last seen on our latest various artists compilation, the duo returns with three absolutely stunning tracks of low slung, infectious cuts blurring the lines between house and techno with an undeniable brush stroke of character the two are quickly becoming synonymous for. ‘flower of cane’ kicks things off in an almost sinister fashion with massive low end bursts and a fever inducing, single note that never stops rising culminating in a climactic crescendo of dance floor euphoria while ‘ortus’ takes a much more ‘up-beat’ approach with dreamy arpeggios and shimmering atmospherics laid over a pulsing bassline resulting in a gorgeous number ideal for a number of memorable moments. wrapping up the originals is the guaranteed summer anthem: ‘relentless fest. jeppe kjellberg’ where sultry vocals and lush aural artifacts launch sensations to uncharted new heights. not done yet, we asked none other than the brilliant andre lodemann to create his revision of ‘relentless feat. jeep kjellberg’ and he, as always, delivered big time. with not only one but two solid reworks of the original lodemann’s remixes need no description other than there is a vocal and a dub version to satisfy any dj’s sensibility. we hope you enjoy.

picking up right where ep 1 left off, ep 2 kicks things off with a bang. first up is catz n dogz and yotam avnis for blakkat a high pace burner ideally suited for dance floors from panorama bar to under the leds of watergate and every club in-between. the duo return with the bright version of afterglow for the second cut on ep 2 and aptly titled, it pushes an intense, glitter filled ride to its limits. embarking onto the b-side, o.a. peas from heavy hitter eats everything & lord leopard take a trip down memory lane with a heavily sample based feel good tune that will absolutely demolish dance floors worldwide. rounding out the ep is a final collaboration between catz n dogz and reno wurzbacher with ma people and its by far the smoothest and most laid back tune of the bundle, but never does it let you rest as a mesmerizing groove and lush atmospherics tell a deep, complex tale of late nights and early mornings.

!! 2018 repress !! flying high after their successful watergate 22 compilation, catz n dogz return to deliver eight exclusive tracks from their mix via two eps showcasing their expert ability to navigate a multitude of different styles. ep 1 commences with catz n dogz original fire burning when we are, a tune that sees them flying solo to create a stunning journey that lands somewhere sonically between carl craig and henrik schwarz where infectious drums reinforce an ensemble of dramatic harmonies tangling with euphoric melodies. afterglow follows suit with an attitude infused vocal from shaun j. wright laid over a trek into a world where old school vibes meet a new school plan of attack resulting in an absolute floor filler perfect for any time. rounding out the ep are remixes from two of the best: prosumer and sebo k. prosumer steps up first to rework fire burning when we ar’ and creates a massive tune with the signature prosumer touch, evident in the timelessness and maturity of the reimagining. sebo k in turn hands over a jackin remake of afterglow by staying true to the original by keeping everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.

following last summers acclaim ruede hagelsteins long player apophenia, we once again revisit the album, this time with a few stunning remixes from the drifter, can be love synth, and ruede himself of the hugely popular footprints feat. c.a.r.. up first is the drifter and he turns out what may be his best remix to date with a swelling, emotional ride that will most definitely be an anthem for the coming summer. taking a different approach, yet just as engaging, ruede reworks his original into a dark, looping psychedelic odyssey perfect for late nights or early mornings. can love be synth rounds out the remixes with a gorgeous pop-esque twist on the original choosing to focus on live instrumentation and retro synthesis resulting in a cross-over favorite. and finally, for all the times you want the vibe without the vocal, a dub version of the original gem.

its no secret jimi jules is an integral part of the watergate crew since he is a regular fixture at both the club and our international showcases. as well as being a core artist on our very own w-agency we are extremely proud and excited to say we can now include him as part of the watergate records roster.

the first lady of watergate, la fleur, is back again with a massive three track ep titled make a move and, in true la fleur fashion, it bridges classic aesthetics with future concepts. by employing what is a uniquely la fleur palette of sound, she has created three distinctly individual cuts resulting in the perfect recipe for brilliant and undeniably body shaking dance floor burners. kicking things off is the title track make a move and it hits hard.

it takes time for a series of seperate ideas to evolve into a fully concepteptualized album if it wants to have a place in history for ali and basti schwarz, better known as tiefschwarz. since 1998 the duo, as both djs and producers, have perfected the art of dominating the moments only experienced on a dance floor, deeply immersed in sound. their music is unique as it is creative. the double vinyl lp includes a download code.

la fleur is a dj in the ascendant. now a resident dj at watergate in berlin (and with a brand new ep for their label ready to drop - more on that in minute!) she has balanced her craft and her electronic music production with precision and flair: all of this is the result of hard work and a constant stream of quality gigs across the world. for the uninitiated, la fleur took her first forays into the studio in 2008, with her remix of david ekenbaecks nairu on trunkfunk records but it was her solo debut, the flowerhead ep, for her own power plant label, which really rocketed her into charts and record boxes worldwide.
