small great tunes vol.1 is varied and offers a traveling dj multiple vibes to choose from. the energy on this new record takes off within the few first bars. the opening track >sport casino< by kid simius introduces a lighthearted mood and 80s synthesizers. peter lcs >sogni dinfanzia< is very likely to become the next lofi-house classic on disco dancefloors around the world. dreamy and melancholic but groovy nevertheless. the b1 track >kamal<, a collab between david silver & luca olivotto is a tasty house mood. the tune features a powerful and groovy bassline and sparkling synth leads all accompanied by rhythmic piano chords. b2 is similar to a2 in the way that its also a lofi-house track with nostalgic moods and careful sound design. with each side of the record featuring both a sunnier and a moodier track, the ep is a perfect fit for summer sets in a heated club or leisurely listening sessions on late afternoons enticing the listener to let go and bringing back memories that have yet to be created.

impressed by the wealth of wonderfully varied analogue electronic music being released by this small, fiercely independent french label, it was surely a matter of time before py & errs’ likeminded paths crossed- and following a “cold wave” styled small run cassette release, gilles releases a full length on py for august.
“phase” is a timeless, minimal electronic record, heavy on hypnotic, emotional tonal arpeggios and sequences. dreamily crafted introspective pieces, and short “broadcastian” interludes, using a semi-modular system. comprising of various analogue oscillators, effects and sequencers (pittsburgh modular, moog, arturia, yamaha, korg to name a few…).

following the critically acclaimed debut album from tensal, soma presents a specially commissioned remix ep to compliment the album. a varied collection of artists are prominent on the release with new and established alike, each delivering their own take on tensal’s originals.

in search of the sublime, contemporary electronic musician steve hauschildt has designed grids and panoramas of sound across multiple releases through the rise and dissolution of his former band, emeralds, an american touchstone of 2000s home-recorded psychedelic noise music. consistent with his solo work is hauschildt’s ability to coil his craft in precise, varied, and distinctly physical forms. gently spinning arpeggios converse with post-industrial decay. sonic fibers sway like pendulums from static melancholy to motorik bliss. dissolvi, the artist’s first full-length with ghostly international, engages sublimation from an ontological perspective: by dissociating the self. hauschildt steps out from the singular path, for the first time in a traditional studio, to compose and arrange contributions from friends. as a result, his most collaborative work to date extends a vast, vibrating framework in which to consider the state of being. the vinyl release includes a download code.

forging a distinctive sound in todays crowded techno landscape is no easy task. madrid based mario campos aka kwartz has grown his robust, propulsive sound into one of the most interesting and vital strains of modern techno. after notable releases for mord, warm up, pole recordings, and his own label ‘order & devotion’, we are excited to present a 6 track kwartz offering for horo.
purists will have their desires satiated with the driving, undulating title track and dancefloor favourite ’altered states of consciousness’ while the rest of the ep sees mario take his style into exploration mode. ‘beyond belief’ functions as an emotive centre point to the releases’ varied moods, while the off kilter static of ‘over a sign recognition’ and the writhing bounce of ‘recoil’ and ’frame dislocation’ complete the carefully sculpted form of the release.

as a dutch label, were proud supporters of the homegrown sounds of guys like nachtbraker, frits wentink and fouk. adding another dutchie to our list of exquisite producers, we present you pitto with his debut on heist recordings. pitto is a musically omnipotent creature, venturing into deep house with the underground hit richklap on wolfskuil back in 2012 and dreamy electronic pop with his album breaking up the static on sonar kollektiv and virgin. he has also moved beyond producing his own music, running studio stekker, a dutch music festival that focused on freeform creative interactions between musicians where the artists performing on the festival locked themselves up a week in advance in kytopia (colin benders synth paradise) to make new music together. through this, hes worked with people like kyteman, matthew johnson, sebastian mullaert and colin de la plante, better known as ‘the mole, who is also present on pittos heist debut with a remix. the ‘late night studio moves ep is one of varied styles, where pittos inspiration from african music, jazzy and soulful samples becomes evident. he finds his ‘funk in repetition, clever sample combinations and combining electronic and live elements in the most organic way. ‘late night studio moves finds its basic groove in an african percussive loop.
