incl dl code, detroit swindle present ‘high life, their second studio album due on the 28th may on the duos own heist recordings. the heart of the album was recorded over a three week period at their amsterdam studio in march 2017, and the release will coincide with the fifth anniversary of the label. since forming in 2011, the dutch duo have carved a unique place for themselves in the scene. their sound - which merges references from multiple decades into one smooth aesthetic - quickly rose to popularity for its careful blend of soul and rhythm, taking cues from their passion for obscure records, with influences ranging from house and funk to afrobeat and soul. dynamic live shows and dj sets afford them a packed touring schedule across the globe, whilst their label heist recordings is credited with consistently breaking new artists. the album explores the intersection of live and electronic music, with much of the improvised material left largely untouched to maintain its organic sensibilities. detroit swindle describe the album as an electronic album with a live approach, combining our love for house, ambient and jazzy harmonics, making it a record interesting for the club, as well as a pleasant album to put on at home.

detroit swindle have been making great waves in 2013 and more than live up to the hype with their powerful & stripped back soulful take on house. sometimes features a full female vox and that freak stuff walks a darker path with shades of basic channel. soulphiction completes a winning package with a deep underground house mix of that freak stuff!

detroit swindle return to freerange with an exclusive track following the incredibly well received figure of speech and unfinished business releases. their label heist continues to hog the top spots on the leading download sites and their releases on freerange have been amongst the labels biggest sellers. recent detroit swindle remixes of romanthony, hercules & love affair and seven davis jr have helped confirm the dutch duo as one of the most exciting and hyped deep house acts to emerge from amsterdam in recent years. tijuana based artist soul of hex aka sébastien vorhaus already boasts material on the likes of mcde, quintessentials and his own vicario ltd. the new project has already seen huge support from larry heard (including 2 remixes from the man himself on his release lip reading), and is fast becoming an in-demand multi-instrumentalist live and visual show.
2016 repress, without artwork cover
heist kicks off the new year with the first ep of detroit swindle since they put out their album boxed out back in march 14. the punch drunk ep is the result of a series of jam sessions in their studio, experimenting with their ever growing studio setup.

BEAUTIFUL FRIENDS (INCL. DETROIT SWINDLE & KRYSTAL KLEAR REMIXES)
12" Vinyl UK31.08.15
sometimes you wait and things fall into place, this is an a&r man s dream. you can spend hours banging your head, waiting for lightening to strike, trying to find the perfect pairing, it s there floating around in your head but the answer is not clear. the record needs a remix, but who would be perfect?
the swindlers return and not a minute too soon as far as were concerned! the hardest working duo in house music have had a mental couple of years playing every club and festival known to man, having babies, seemingly buying up the entire stock of vintage studio gear off ebay and thankfully knocking out some banging tunes on top of all that. well all club bangers gratefully received here at freerange so with open arms and ears were happy to be bringing you the figure of speech ep.
listen to this if you like: anything that weve put out last year, wrapped together in a lovely double pack of a 12inch and 10inch. the roundup part 1 is the first part of an annual recurring event: the big heist family remix ep, where all artist names get put in a big bowl, and by luck of the draw, find themselves remixing (and remixed by) another heist artist. weve got max graef remixing detroit swindle and turning the break up into a full on graef-affair.
brownswood recordings and deep medi are proud to announce the release of swindles *walters call ep*.
with the title track *walters call*, swindle dives straight in at the deep end with sirens and footwork inspired drums, gradually building themes of energetic brass brilliance into the mix. seamlessly produced, this sets the ep off to a blazing start, introducing the influences of early 20th century chaotic jazz, which run throughout.
BOXED OUT - THE REMIXES (JIMPSTER, MRSK, CUTHEAD, KAYTRONIKS)

swindle has had an incredible year, touring as the pianist in the mala in cuba show and also releasing an critically acclaimed album *long live the jazz* (available on all formats via deep medi musik). with swindles live show going from strength to strength there is no easing up, so its fitting to finish the year with a cut from his album *running cold*, featuring terri walker ... hear legend roni size contribute a killer remix!
this autumn the most prolific label in the game, greco-roman, keeps on giving as they announce an ep from rising manchester dj/producer tcts aka sam o neill. the respected london collective will release *these heights* including remixes by detroit swindle and greco-roman soundsystem.
ltd 2015 repress!!!
finally we close the ep with woman, a track thats probably about as close as the ds boys get to a smooching torch song. lush pads and strings bring a deeper vibe to proceedings but the female spoken word samples keep the energy high and ensure things never stray too far from the floor.
this vinyl release brings together first class remixes taken from the singles, the future is yours and good for the city - which features sam duckworth of get cape wear cape fly fame. first up on the a-side from solomuns diynamic crew is adriatique. the duo were big fans of the future is yours, featured it on the diynamic podcast and got in touch with the kraakers to say they would be up for remixing the song. the result is deep house heaven and a summer terrace stalwart. next up is portuguese disco don moullinexs take which lays down a classic disco style and vibe in the mix.
the 13-track album—which features a handful of vocal tunes, including a contribution from terri walker—is said to be a typically genre-busting affair, with the south london dj/producer reportedly taking influence from the likes of george clinton, parliament/funkadelic, and roy ayers, as well as using more expected grime and dubstep sounds.
we are very happy to welcome our old friend pablo valentino for the second release of 2013. it is no coincidence if pablo & dairmount hooked up nearly 10 years ago when pablo started his imprint faces, dedicated to leftfield black music influenced soundscapes rooted in hip hop culture. both sharing a strong sense of underground activism, a deep love of the black music tree and a lovely obsession for futuristic sounds, it is no surprise that these two naturally decided to join effort under the room with a view umbrella.
next up, pablos monster original received the magic treatment of amsterdams finest detroit swindle. one of the hottest dj & production units of the global house scene confirms here why labels like freerange, saints & sonnets or dirt crew went bananas to sign their early work. the dutch duo has made a spectacular & fast rise and is already in high demand all over the planet. their inimitable blend of melodical grooves, jazzy chords and bumpy bass-lines seemed to be tailor made to translate a new school approach to pablos rooted original tune.
vinyl re-release of detroit swindles debut ep on dirt crew recordings, the amsterdam newcomers nothing else matters ep features a crackin deep and soulful sound, heavy bass lines and funky beats on the originals. the massive morning factory remix was a big hit for the label. in this special vinyl version you will also find the excellent remix detroit swindle did for elefs keep it physical as a bonus track.
the first morris audio release in 2013 is a big one: zoo look with a detroit swindle remix! the zoo look guys are well know for their quality deep house music, and >over me< feat. the beautiful vocals of amy lyon and > the sound of someone< prove that once more! dutch guys detroit swindle can well be called >newcomer of 2012< and have been getting great reactions to their fat sound – with releases on freerange, dirt crew or wolf music to name but a few! 84 – a classic morris release! zoo look are on their way to the top with releases / tracks scheduled for dirt crew, hizou, join the dots and albion!
after their sure-fire succession of great releases detroit swindle end up on the excellent freerange imprint. and if you like the words deep along with atmospheric then this will most definitely appeal to you. from the opening title track with its lush, moody nu-groove styled pads and thunderous hand-claps these three productions simply ooze class and intensity in abundance. next is >gotta know< which rewinds back to classic house sounds and injects a sense of melody into the already swinging rhythms and punchy, detroit bass. which is then followed by >brotherman< and yet more in-depth moods, this time accompanied by jazzy, scat styled vocals for added diversity. finally we have wolf music main man krl stepping up to remix brotherman and a rather sterling job he does to. making great use of the vocal krl brings us a slowed down version with his trademark shuffling drums and a dynamic arrangement. piano stabs and a cheeky boogie synth sample all help bring his own sound to the track and round off the package perfectly.
the only thing that keeps detroit swindle from actually being from detroit is that they are born and raised in amsterdam, a little over 6000 kilometers away. so even though they’ve got their 4 feet firmly positioned on dutch soil, their heads and hearts are rooted deep into the soul of the motor city.
desos is back with his second 12 inch release. deep and raw house music, with a fantastic remix by detroit swindle, the guys with releases on saint & sonnets, dirt crew and murmur.
translucent vinyl pressing.
deep medi are very happy to announce the signing of a new member to the family. swindle has been cutting his teeth on various labels such as planet mu and butterz fusing his unique style of grime, funky & dubstep, he has had some recent underground success with >ignition< feat. footsie and nadia suliman on his own label swindle productions. swindle came to the attention of the medi camp by fellow anti social member silkie. silkie & swindle have been working closely in the studio recently, which inspired the recent collaboration on butterz and earlier this year a mix they worked on for mixmag. swindles >do the jazz< ep unites swindles love of the funk with his twisted rave sensibility and innovative production skills that make people unable not to shake a leg in the dance. >do the jazz< has been getting support and radio play from the likes of mistajam, annie mac & toddla t, due to its pure energy!
with their feet firmly positioned on dutch soil, the heads and hearts of detroit swindle are nonetheless rooted deep into the soul of the motor city, and this ep of finely crafted grooves on jimmy posters and huxleys fledgling saints & sonnets imprint is as brilliant a reflection of their obsession as you could expect. >the wrap around< combines a killer vocal hook with a silky line, but its the bassline that marks it out, coming in with a thudding bassline that twists itself into all manner of unfiltered goodness at the halfway point. >pain tomorrow< meanwhile prefers to let its skipping percussion do the talking with a bumping chord led groove that would put mcde to shame. the ep is rounded off with a killer remix of the title track from deleusions of grandeurs pattern select, turning in a sparse reworking which transforms the light original into a throbbing piece of basement house.
croydons own swindle gets 2011 off to a great start with his first release on the grime label of the moment, butterz. the funk-obsessed producer delivers an exercise in dark half-step on the title tune >mood swings< with all the funky riffs and synths that fans of >airmiles< have grown to love since he debuted with that track on planet mu.
having already gained support from starkey, alexander nut, scratcha dva and dj q, the >mood swings ep< is shaping up to be yet another instant classic from swindle and the butterz label.
london grime producer swindle follows up his incredible planet mu ep with another slab of funked-up grime, this time for a rapidly expanding rwina records. swindles return marks a slightly stripped-down sound: the funk is meaner, heavier, and nastier. >playground< grooves on rainbow synths and leisurely, drawn-out melodies, as a boogie bassline carves memorable phrases in the ground below. all of this is shoved in an approachable halfstep template that means the track could just as easily slot into any dubstep set as the grime scene in which swindle dominates. did we mention theres a killer freestyling organ solo in the breakdown?
planet mu are proud to present the first ep from uk production don and terror danjah remixer swindle. he is taking influences from grime and uk funky to create a new synthed-out funk. the energetic lead track >airmiles< is currently being hammered by mistajam and target on bbc, bok brackles, jj and oneman on rinse. the rest of the ep doesnt let up either, with twisting bass tones of >daredevil<, and the hyperfunk of >coffee< among the highlights.
massive peaktime bomb by dada life !! hands up and booty shakin guaranteed.. incl rockin laidback luke remix and a more emotional and deeper serge santiago remix. played by thomas schumacher, guy gerber and eric prydz
the album explores the intersection of live and electronic music, with much of the improvised material left largely untouched to maintain its organic sensibilities. detroit swindle describe the album as an electronic album with a live approach, combining our love for house, ambient and jazzy harmonics, making it a record interesting for the club, as well as a pleasant album to put on at home.
the debut album by detroit swindle. it has everything you would expect from the swindles, some slow burners with a hint of disco, some deep house, some banging club monsters and hey, even some leftfield hip hop jams.
