a year after the launch of vanila , the fourth release of the label comes once again from sawf, four tracks full of energy, each one representing a different aspect of the athenian producer.

vnl003 comes as the result of the one year and half collboration between the athenian artists sawf and anfs, under the name vofa. stripped down heavy beats for the broken hearts.

nihil est means „nothing“ in latin. the title for sawfs new ep on code is law fits perfect for the unsearchable artist sawf with his mysterious essence and sound! since he’s howling with the “wolves” on the so titled sampler, sawf is back with his massive and unmistakable sound. nihil est comes to fill dark places and lost spaces with its ritual rhythm, surrounding twilight vocals and brings tripping parts as well as huge bass storms and killer synthesizer lines! this ep will blow minds – not only on the dancefloor!

vanila is a new born label based in athens greece, its purpose is to explore the relationship between sound, blashphemy and anomaly. the first release is coming from sawf, the athenian producer known from his releases on perc trax, modal ananlysis and code is law. the release includes four original tracks that capture perfectly the wide range of his production skills and the sound of a newly shaped scene in the greek capital.

sonic ep is the second contribution of sawf to the modal analysis catalogue. the greek producer, and core member of the modal analysis roster, delivers a mind-blowing 4-tracker with a clear intention to interpret an industrial-noise aesthetic from a techno perspective. sonic#1 is a cut from the intro of sawf’s live set, offering a powerful combo of processed vocals and distorted soundscapes. sonic#2 comes as a long and stepping beast that creates the uncomfortable feeling of a horror movie soundtrack. on the b side, sonic#3 blends blurry vocals with rhythmic industrial elements on a breath-taking bass-line, while sonic#4 presents sawf’s charisma on impro-noise compositions. *sonic#4 was recorded at ‘sonic shelter studios’ in athens.

the second of the three vinyl eps featuring tracks from perc trax’s ‘slowly exploding’ compilation groups together three of the label’s main artists and closes with a producer making his perc trax debut. the a1 slot goes to label boss perc, whose ‘hyperlink’ builds on the sound of the dancefloor tracks of his last album with a huge kick giving way to swooping 8-bit chords whilst sawf’s ‘goves’, already tried and tested by perc over the last few months is an unrelenting breakbeat monster. on the b-side truss delivers one of the stand-out tracks of this series, with the surgeon supported analogue juggernaut that is ‘brockweir. closing things off is drvg cvltvre, who lowers the tempo but not the intensity with one of his trademark 303 workouts.
