the fourth instalment on dgtl records is an ep by satori, who delivers a record with three tracks that all bear his signature sound. this will be the first ep he releases after maktub, his well-received album on crosstown rebels. compared to the album, the ep is more dance floor orientated and thus right in time for the summer festival season.
satoris latest album in between worlds gets its second round of remix treatments. first mix is coming from satoris good friend and former release partner el mundo who turned compulaire into a hypnotical tech house version. second is just emma and the duo made a perfect dancefloor suitable mix of ink & orange sky, likewise britta arnold did this to compulaire and spiced it with a acidish bassline. norwegian duo of norway have chosen tuti and mixed it with groovy and relaxed beats perfect for the morning after hours. for the way home alexander christians remix of ehsan is the best companion. last but not least we have joney who turned pink & orange sky into a powerful crossover mix omewhere between broken beats and electronica.
satori returns to crosstown rebels with his atmospheric album maktub. here is a four track vinyl sampler from the album, including a live unreleased vinyl only version of ‘while i miss you’.
music flows through the veins of satori. no ordinary artist, he is creating deeply spiritual music through a range of instruments and production techniques. maktub, his debut album on the illustrious crosstown rebels pulls the listener into an exotic world, blurring the lines between electronic and meditative music.
at the core of maktub is satori’s desire to touch people with his music, and his vocals shine through from start to finish, as he guides the listener on an arabian nights inspired journey.
after the success of ‘imanis’ dress’ and ‘umama’ singles, satori’s album is a work of sonic beauty. this four track sampler features four diverse cuts from the album that will each beguil, inspire and enthrall.
giving us a preview of his forthcoming album maktub, satori is next to release on crosstown rebels with umama. the single features alongside remixes from three of the most prominent artists from today’s house scene.
demonstrating his incredible ability to incorporate world sounds into his music, satori mesmerises with umama. amidst a soiree of african percussion is a soothing hypnotic chant, all encased in alluring synths. italian legend riva starr’s jazzy take on the original, integrates the chanting vocal as a futuristic anthem. louie vega maintains an ethnic feel. his remix, alongside an instrumental, encompasses futuristic synths with a sturdy kick throughout.
IMANIS DRESS (EWAN PEARSON & MATTHEW DEAR REMIXES)
12" Vinyl UK01.02.17
the enchanting and notorious satori unveils imanis dress, the first snippet of his forthcoming album due for release this spring on the illustrious crosstown rebels, with matthew dear and ewan pearson providing hefty remixes. satori is no ordinary producer and live artist. born to a serbian father and south african mother, the man behind the instrument is a meditative music-lover on a deeply spiritual journey. creating melodies on the piano, kora, kalimba, and guitar, his live shows are mind-altering. imani s dress was the spark for the creation of satoris debut album after damian lazarus heard it and requested to hear more from the visionary artist. hungry and eager, satori locked himself in a secluded studio and finished the album, and soon after it was signed to its spiritual home, crosstown rebels. dj and production heavyweight matthew dears remix is a skillful demon that illustrates why he is a pivotal artist in the electronic music arena. ewan pearsons remix is an ode to the guitar. creating music for over two decades, here his warm riffs are infused with soothing synths and a meticulous groove
chilean born and berlin based dinky has forged a solid and illustrious career over the past decade. ‘casa’ announces her new album set for release on damian lazarus’s crosstown rebels this autumn, with remixes from axel boman and satori. a trained classical guitarist, singer and keyboard player that has held a dj residency at berlin’s infamous panorama bar since 2004, dinky’s sixth album, also titled ‘casa’ will be the first since the birth of her two children.’ dinky’s delicate vocal on ‘casa’ is both up-tempo and spacious, with infusions of acid, leftfield and electronica in its veins. axel boman delivers a stunning, emotive and epic nine and a half minute dub version, overlaid with spoken word samples referring to lost experiences. the swedish born producer is much-lauded for his releases on dj koze’s pampa, permanent vacation and his own imprint, studio barnhus, formed with kornel kovacs and petter of border community. while the hedonistic take from satori takes ‘casa’ up beyond the horizon. a future crosstown rebels artist, satori has released on 8bit, under your skin and bla bla records. ‘casa’ sees a return to form for dinky and a welcome return to the crosstown imprint, after previously releasing a single and a mix album for the pioneering label.
uysr029 is the closing chapter of remixes for satori s longplayer. crussen from norway kicks of with a pretty down beat mix of days without you which is pure fun for the morning hours. amsterdam based olaf stuut instead did a driving mix of the wishing spell crossing borders between techno and electronica. hraach from spain put big emotions into his bad looking trouble remix deep house with sensual strings. last mix is from underyourskin resident thomas atzmann who gave a very new danceable attitude to the greatest against the world.
with sincopat 21 we start a new chapter in the label, we ask the illustrator philip cassirer to create a really special artwork for the next 10 eps, is a mosaic made up with ten pieces starting in the 21th release and ending with the 30th, we call it sincopat island and just 300 limited vinyl copies will me made for every single release, so you will just be able to build the puzzle getting our next 10 releases.
besides their duo releases as el mundo & satori the netherland based producer team splits up for some solo releases. 3 deep groovy techy housetracks show the production skills of satori and shows the path he wants to walk as a solo musician.
michel amato aka the hacker is without a doubt one of the most successful and accomplished french djs and producers. since 1992 he is part of the international techno szene, widely acclaimed as a solo artist as well as persuing thriving projects with miss kittin. he is a rare gem ... an artists who always stayed true to his style and his early musical influences of bands such as cabaret voltaire, throbbing gristle, einstürzende neubauten, depeche mode or joy division. for his new satori ep on correspondant he makes no exception! originally hailing from mexico, daniel proclaimed disco caveman and rising comeme (matias aguayos label), transforms michels white funk into a psychedelic disco track. the remix unmistakably bears his signature: it is a maloso. offsets remix is a crawling monster. he digged deep and the result is a dark and hypnotic remix of white funk.
having finished recording the new zombie zombie album (out: april 2012), etienne jaumet leaves temporarily the duo to record a solo piece, as a need to find oneself again … if the word satori means spiritual awakening, the title track that offers etienne seems to describe the way to this awakening … a winding and sometimes dark path, taking inspiration from both dark disco and synth wave (etienne is particularly keen of those genres, you can listen to his new podcast for versatile records as an evidence) and also to some kind of trance… on b side, jon convex, newcomer on the dubstep / uk garage field and signed on martyns label, delivers a clearly club oriented version, by injecting syncopated beat and the funky groove unique to uk garage.
nice price deal !!! incl the mega track >in a blink of an eye< - pure euphoria! decks tipp.. it would be to easy to categorize satori as a techno producer. of course there were the clubhits with his partner in crime el mundo, there were long hot nights, exuberant dancefloors, pounding beats and pure ecstasy. but the person behind satori has another side, a side that also wants to pour his personal impressions into sound. meet in to void, a remarkable debut in every sense. forget about those dancefloors for a moment, the place where satori left his mark so clearly these last years. place yourself in the person djordje petrovic, born form a serbian father and south african mother, raised with balkan music, afrobeat, jazz and world music in all shapes and sizes. someone who educated himself in playing guitar and piano and also wants to showcase this other side of his music. produced in the moments in between his sessions with el mundo a series of tracks came about that characterize satori most accurately. deep, sensitive and worldly, but mostly compelling and utterly beautiful. in to void is a musical moodboard, an emotional blog if you like, where thoughts and impressions by djordje petrovic force themselves to you in a hypnotic trip, subtle but irresistible.
hot beats, killer piano loops and crazy grooves are some of the ingredients present in our next release on bla bla records. label boss daniel sanchez teamed up with bla bla goldenboyz el mundo & satori to bring you 3 outstanding tracks wich bring you to sunny places. enjoy your summer with bla bla records!
big support by d.sanchez, karotte, luciano, p.osuna, r. hawtin, ricardo....... the new be real split ep. it’s a perfect combination that really rocks the dancefloor. the french johnny depp look alike alex dee does a real nice housey a side with deeconepa and fat bastard. and the dutch formation el mundo and satori adds another two groovers for the b side groove the night and my way.
in between worlds - that is the name of the debut album from likeable artist satori alias djordje petrovic released on underyourskin records. the longplayer mirrors his serbian & south-african roots the 30 years old dutchman grew up with. with beautiful melancholy djordje creates a story about life and the love between worlds & cultures. satoris music is a riveting collage of electronica lounge pop, african jazz, hip hop and world music. a homage to the beauty of life.
different fountains return with their 2nd full length album after their debut lp ‘shrimp that sleeps’ released in 2014 in collaboration with meakusma. the 10 tracks on ‘transparent flag’ are a diverse collection of music traversing genres and moods with great ease. after a captivating string of 12” releases on their ‘organism’ series, transparent flag takes off where shrimp that sleeps left us 5 years ago.
acid paulis album bld dropped earlier this year and was a superb reminder of martin gretschmanns unique place within the electronic music. breathing musicality and adventurousness into everything that he does, the album covered a number of moods and emotions, from dystopian carnivalesque vibes to moments of high intensity, through to deep melancholia and synth laden ambience. following on from the a remix package, b brings another huge selection of producers into the fray to reinterpret the originals. first up, hamburg hero stimming works over ‘amadou - flipping the original, into a techy bomb. a thick kick underpins a shuffling, off kilter rhythm and beautifully treated melodics. stimmings feel for gently pushing the dancefloor into new places shines through. ‘rené is reworked by roman flügel, the ongaku/klang/playhouse boss whose influence on the european electronic music scene has been immense. always willing to experiment, ‘rené is the perfect canvas - arpeggiated blips and beeps echo primitive electronic explorations by the likes of francis bebey, and a huge subby kick drum take this track into space. alex boman sets to work on ‘jeanne, locking into his signature groovy, tribal approach to working the dancefloor. the swedish producer adds dubby elements, an irresistible percussion track and disruptive, random sounds to the thick, heady mix. dutch wunderkind satori tackles ‘jorge - twisting the original into a psychedelic groover that finds room for backwards vocals, marimba-like melodies, fat basslines and shuffling breakbeats.
the brainchild of damian lazarus, crosstown rebels has become home to many big hitters. following on from his remix of satori earlier this year, riva starr delivers his own, three-part tribal beast, adventures in drums. my afrika opens up the ep with what would appear to be a tribal leader commanding your attention as the wobbly synths draw you in. as the heady bass kicks in you can’t help but succumb to the rhythm. on eurovoodoo, alien sounding synths are weaved amongst high hats luring you into a trance-like, hypnotic state. el sonido leans towards a faster, flamenco style sound with tribal singing beckoning you to the dancefloor. riva starr is the alias of east london based stefano miele. he has long been a staple in the club scene bringing dancefloor fire to some of the world’s biggest stages, from glastonbury to japan’s fuji rock. his credibility as an artist has led to collaborations with some of the industry’s biggest players, including the likes of green velvet, as well as remixing for a number of high-profile musicians such as wiley and london grammar. founder of snatch!, 2017 was a monumental year for the label having reached its 100th release.

fresh sci-fi hip hop from melbourne! the deep above the noise album picks up where his highly regarded classic codes over colours (2005) left off. with a vast array of instrumental landscapes & guest contributions from guilty simpson, miles bonny, coma-chi (japan), notes to self bbrc and momo (iammmxo). deep above the noise is a heavy hitting affair from start to finish, this is just the start of the next chapter of the plutonic lab story.
as the dust only just begins to settle after the sensational release of matthias meyers watergate 20 installment, its time to unleash the mixes exclusive cuts. kicking things off, meyer delivers an enchanting ride with la strings, where whimsical pads rise and sweep as a hypnotizing bass line whirls endlessly across a landscape of earthy percussion. while still maintaining his trademark sound but taking a slightly deeper path, meyer conjures up the super dreamy uluwatu. settled firmly in rich organic percussion and lush melodies, uluwatu jaunts effortlessly through overgrown rain forests and lavish emotions. next up is gorje hewek and izhevskis turgoyakk and its an absolute gem. opulent pads, sensuous strings and powerful keys culminate in a profoundly vivid tour into truly emotional territory. finally, yokoo & retza deliver an impressive number with the dazzling satori which is laced with ornate keys and soft siren calls rounding up the release with timeless style
we present the second of three 12inches to celebrate our 10th anniversary. deep house legend jimpster re-edits galcher lustwerk s nu day, adding his own mesmerising live keys and steering the original into classic deep house territory.
a lot of water has passed under the bridge since the release of etienne jaumet’s night music, dating from october 2009. his hypnotizing music and enchanting live performances put him directly on the map. it’s just him who is in control of his ship. he moves without complexes from his saxophone to his drum machine (his beloved tr 808) while turning knobs modulating synths, and sending his voice through an echo.la visite, etienne’s brand new album, more luminous and jazzy than its predecessor, has been composed and produced within a two month period in the versatile studio. it became a piece of introspection, mentally as well as physically. in the title track, for which flop wrote the text, we hear etienne travelling through the inside of a body, fantastic voyage style.it is always surprising to see a record taking shape. etienne would arrive at the studio without any precise idea in head, approaching his work rather intuitively. he works standing up, which brings a very different energy than being seated behind a computer polishing up every detail. he is in total mastery of his set-up, ready to capture that short-lived moment of true creation. the only use a computer has for him, is to record his experiments - afterwards being mixed by jerome caron (blackjoy).in between night music and la visite, etienne has not been lazy. not only has he done numerous collaborations (amongst others with joakim, richard pinhas, francois & the atlas mountain) and picked up djing, he has also recorded a new zombie zombie album (rituels d’un nouveau monde) with cosmic neman, as well as the soundtrack loubia hamra. and he worked with artist felicie d estienne d orves on the installation satori. at this very moment, etienne and his saxophone are still part of the tour of james holden.
huge support from: marco carola, richie hawtin, riva starr, gorge, sossa, mihai popoviciu, stacey pullen and many more... suro records is pleased to presents it s new release -be quiet- an explosive tech house loaded with a powerful bass line and a great percussion that make virtually impossible to honour the name of this excellent piece. the side b contain a deep twist with a dark atmosphere wonderfully remixed by el mundo, half of famous dutch duo - el mundo & satori- needs no introduction, his magnificent remixing skills have brought an exquisite track that will spread this amazing sound all summer long.
this pack includes brise021 (veitengruber), brise026 (danny serrano & hector couto & piek), brise028 (hector couto) & brise029 (yapacc feat. robert conroy).. perfect for much music in your case - for a special price
one of the biggest human resources consists of getting possession of ones own ego, carrying it through a path made of liberty, movement, rhythm and communication: soundpark wants to be a part of this and offers something different, to discover.

next up on frustrated funks limited vinyl series is italian producer and visual artist federico leocata. this young producers sound aesthetics can easily be compared with dataphysix style of production with its snappy, minimal and dark characteristics (who knows what their real connection might be). but when looking a bit further federico manages to create a world of its own where unpleasant, obscure and sinister sounding tracks bring you in a dark imaginary world of ropes, burning leather and foggy torture chambers. this is the second ff release in this series of limited hand numbered and hand stamped colored vinyl 12s.first come first serve.
