the german dj & producer patrick zigon is back – with his label biotop, and with his first vinyl release after 2 years. located at the beautiful lake constance area in southern germany, patrick zigon builds with his label a biotope for friendly artists, which is focused on experimental and open-minded electronic music. after the first digital releases, biotop drops the first vinyl on the market. patrick zigons *ich see* was released on biotops alive compilation, and is without doubt one of the brightest moments in the young label-history.

the second vinyl is full of remixes from the first one. the small vinyl manufactory in the tree house is working in high quality. et voilá, david last (incl. dop voices), demas, florist and sebastian albrecht are the remixers and they have placed their saws and axes in the shed and carved a few tasteful sounds in electronic sisyphean. like the first release, it is musical understatement with pure groove research and a commitment to a culture of sound of the early perlon vinyls. stay tuned for more high quality music.

having emerged from a crop of disco flavoured releases and vocal led remixes a couple of years ago, ashley casselle and asadinho decided to embark upon creating a series of stripped down housey techno dj tools to be used as experimental moments within their own podcasts and dj sets. this degree of honesty, and a desire to hark back to the roots of the music that drew them together in the first place, resulted in the sublime and bouncy *ceefox*. grainy 70s b-movie strings atop an addictive bassline equals a subtle yet huge club moment wherever it is played. we here at murge decided to entice these charming deejays to put out this deep and groovesome tune with us. two remixes come courtesy of new kingpin on the block jordan peak, who takes things into a more stomping club arena, and the beautifully glictchy ambience of julien miers headphone friendly interpretation.

here comes the second editon of nulabel in vinyl after the success of alexander dniels kingdom ep.

this is matthias vogts third installment on polytone recordings! with maintain he proves distinct feeling for musicality once more: as vogt is an accomplished jazz pianist, he is able to move easily between uplifting drive and harmonic substructures. the flip side deals with the welcoming of two illustrious remix artists to polytones roster: bleak and vince watson. bleak is renowned for having his musical output released on labels like delsin and deeply rooted house.

it seems like no part of the world has evaded discos ubiquitous inuence, including the caribbean. the caribbean in the late 70s and early 80s was a hotbed of musical activity and this compilation focuses on the best disco-inuenced tracks from trinidad and tobago, jamaica, and the bahamas. all of the tracks here were ocially licensed and reissued for the first time ever. highlights of the 13 tracks included on this compilation are: the under-the-radar cosmic disco tune -got to have you- by joanne wilson, a rare p&p records-inuenced track -dance with me- by odessey one, the icy cool synth-trenched -living on a string- by wild fire, the incredible dance oor-friendly -instant funk- by merchant, and the disco reggae cover of -rapper s delight- by prince blackman. this compilation was compiled and researched by deano sounds and includes edits by al kent, the whiskey barons, and waxist selecta.

music is strongly linked to memory, sometimes just a simple note will trigger a deep feeling of nostalgia or emotion. the new homesick series was created by music enthusiasts who are living half a world away from their birthplaces. their concept is a play on memory, to re-edit and rework songs from the past into something which is timeless, tracks which feel fresh but retain their memories. for the first release, the homesick team have curated three pieces by drop out orchestra, late nite tuff guy, zimmer, and amadei. doo have carefully reworked -no scrubs- into a warm, bass driven, disco jam suited for the dancefloor, alntg has provided a solid groove theory lesson as only he can, and the ep is rounded-off with a special (double) bonus track for all the people who love 80s-era french pop music, reworked by zimmer and the asia-based newcomer amadei.

andy meecham is a man of many musical incarnations and has been since the early 90s. following on from projects like the now dormant bizarre inc and revived dub-disco duo chicken lips, it is as the emperor machine that he explores his most experimental sounds. to date there have been three full length albums on dc recordings after the project was initially started with the idea of creating music using just one synth, the roland sh-3a. the results lay out the staffordshire mans love of vintage synthesisers for all to see, and combine tough edged disco beats with more cerebral cosmic melodies into alluring soundscapes that bend your mind and drive your feet. as well as a slew of 12s and lps, the emperor machine has also turned his hand to remixes of giants like moby, daft punk and royksopp, and has previously taken a live and inspiringly psychedelic incarnation of the project to clubs and festivals across the planet.
