taking on a true trance classic and a personal favorite of his, len faki takes us back to the golden era of big melodies and early raves, sharing two very distinct interpretations of firedance by odyssee of noises, the prolific production outfit helmed by ralf hildenbeutel. originally released in 1994 on legendary label eye q, this track marked a special period for faki, when he was fully immersing himself into the scene, and accompanied him through his most formative times as a dancer and a becoming dj.brimming with the iconic elation of those nights, side a keeps with the emotive theme of the original‘s sunrise version, tweeking only slightly to cater for the needs of these days‘ dancers. re-shaping the classic to match modern productions for it to be mixed with current bangers, faki packs the tune‘s anthemic appeal into a propulsive ride down memory lane…

mad dancer ep is freda’s second offering through sydney imprint moonshoe records - the record maintains the raw crunchy nature of his debut whilst he progresses into more dissonant atmospheres. wobbling jazz loops guide the a side through 2 up-tempo yet calming house tracks. the title track mad dancer is kept alive by crunchy, swinging hi-hats and bouncy synth melodies. smoking causes is a slow burning take on disco. on the flip (breakfast) is the curveball of the 3 tracks. a darker mood is established before a syncopated break drives the ep home, exemplified by a sliding dissonant synth melody.

deaf chonky is an israeli folk, garage & punk duo formed by adi bronicki and tami kaminsky. ep incl.red axes, manfredas remix!deaf chonky is an israeli folk, garage & punk duo formed by adi bronicki and tami kaminsky. the two members of the band grew up in rehovot (israel) where they met and rehearsed. their name (which means girls in russian) was given to them by kaminskys father. the bands musical influences go from garage punk to russian folk music. this is their 1st ep for red axes label garzen records. incudes two remixes by manfredas & red axes themselves!

inspired by the early industrial pioneers, dead crooners and the unrelenting speed of change, uncanny valley combine homemade metallic resonators, pound-shop contact mics and sellotape synthesisers, with human error for unusual effect. remixes come from the fantastic manfredas and mondowski.

freda & jackson’s msh002 is the second offering from sydney’s moonshoe records and their first ep on the label as a duo. in 2016 the two beat-makers burst onto the scene and further-introduced the label with a pair of singles, persius & sumluv to a warm response at home and abroad. msh002, although predominantly house-cuts, sees the pair draw largely on their hip-hop influences with a heavy use of sample chops and and raw percussion. the 5-track maintains an emotional undertone of sadness from front-to-back while each tune holds up as a stand-alone journey.
