the first vinyl version of the upcoming cd album with some magical works of unit moebius. this first 12inch contains some of their hottest tracks including the legendary >world goes around<, an evil cover of a classic chicagohouse track by cool mccool. the flip side contains the more deeper side from their first releases. for those who were there in those years 91/92/93, at the famous parties in the hague and rotterdam, this is a walk down memory lane, for those to young or living in other parts of the world... imagine these tracks in a dark, very dark sweaty basement with only strobe light and smoke machines, camouflage nets, and jacking acid and techno sounds for more then 10 ours. djs such as i-f, serge, schmerzlabor, peter ptau ptau and live acts such as unit moebius played the hottest and freshest music all night long until you lost your sense of time and place and ended in a total mind trip. the pure essence of house and techno! the golden years :-)

reissue - miraculously rare and seriously obscure killer dubs. one of the very few hard core seventies dub albums mixed by errol brown. a selection of solid dubs originally recorded in 1978 by bb seaton at duke reid s legendary treasure isle studio and mixed in-house by the duke s nephew errol brown. a radical departure for all concerned this bold dub album was never officially released although a few clandestine copies reputedly did the new york rounds at the time. mojo by david katz - extremely rare 1978 dub album stands up against any from that era - -errol brown began engineering through family connections, producer duke reid was his uncle. trained by the highly-skilled byron smith, chief engineer at reid s treasure isle facility, brown cut his teeth mixing alton ellis, the paragons, peter tosh and marcia griffiths. -orthodox dub- dates from 1978 when bb seaton of the gaylads was working closely with brown at treasure isle, cutting tracks with ken boothe and mikey dread along with self-produced work, and although only ever issued in tiny numbers as pre-release lp in the bronx, these dubs pack a mighty punch, easily on par with any of the dub sets issued in the era by channel one or joe gibbs. outstanding tracks include -roots rockas-, a stripped down cut of boothe s -who really cares-, and -black forest rock-, a bass-heavy reading of seaton s -is life-.-

the new york downtown producer/composer returns with his first new album in 3 years!
eighteen: the year of release, 2018. eighteen: the age at which i first used a synthesizer. in creating eighteen i worked independently in the studio, initially building up tracks with synthesizers and found sounds recorded in my daily comings and goings. after working with the tracks over a period of months, i shared them with a few musicians, who added their own instrumental layers. though working independently, we all shared a similar working process: working in our personal recording spaces, as opposed to larger recording studios.

this ridiculously soulful summer-house ep is the first installment by peter on big bait since 2015. we baked the essence of 3 years of studio work on 12&#8243, vinyl. amongst two brilliant solo tracks, peter brought in two coops with some exclitingly interesting producers: -arpeggio funk- is the first co-production by the columbian shooting star felipe gordon with big bait label boss peter clamat. the guys met up on soundcloud and immediately started working out some tunes together. -she hates getting photos- and -tanzflächengebet- are solo productions by mr. clamat. outstanding, colorful, perfect work as usual. last but not least track no. four is the uplifting, 90 s flavored remix of an unpublished clamat-gem by ugly drums and chesney. the two guys are old-stagers of the german house culture and well known for their releases on kalakutta soul, ava, quintessentials etc.

kampana delivers once again with a pair of dance floor gems that will please lovers of funk, disco and gospel alike. on the a-side, aroop roy means serious business with reason to dance. driven by an outrageous slap bass, infectious horn stabs and a limb-shaking vocal refrain, its no surprise that this has been the secret weapon of his recent sets around the world. on the flip, detroit native peter croce, fresh from the huge success of his razor-n-tape ep, comes in equally strong, with the gospel-fuelled disco cut just like heaven. the track builds patiently, lingering on a raw disco groove, honing in on a powerful brass section and spirit-lifting vocals, and eventually climaxing with epic strings and thunderous piano.

peter croce has been making some noise lately with his rocksteady disco party and record label, and here he brings his burgeoning rework sensibilities to rnt with a varied pack of revisions straight from detroit! on the ecstatic uptempo face-melting tip, we have spirit dance and get up and boogie, either of which are sure to burn down any disco. then there s the hard-working, grown-ass groove of proletariat blues, and made in china, a beautiful slow-burner for those early evening spins or late-night comedowns.

around was the first song from same language different worlds that everybody heard. tim burgess had sent a home made cd-r to lauren laverne as soon as the record was completed and she texted asking if a song could be featured on the 6music show that morning. peter gordon and tim had spent the precious few months crafting the album in new york, norfolk & manchester - tim sent the song to pete kember and proclaimed the resultant remix as “one of the best tracks i ve ever had the pleasure of being involved with”.
