minuendo recordings returns back with its 15th release, the deepfathers is another super production of the spanish label with ernie and ordell introducing their brand new tracks. pure underground deep house full on body and soul in the same lines of the two previous eps grand deep auto & deep wars. jus ed, is one of the most influential and respected producers from the underground house scene and hes now the special guest. edward is the owner of the uq (underground quality) and has produced for labels like strength or fxhe and some others à the track summer breeze, is a great example of the quality of his uq.
david sugar has been a popular face on the uk, and european chip music scene since early 2004. after being selected to take part in the desiel u music tour in the uk during 2006, his profile has risen, and he will now accompany top ten star clavin harris on his uk jaunt in june and july 2007. he regularly plays to large crowds all across europe, including germany and switzerland, now it appears that the rest of the world is catching onto his unique and quirky, but damn fine pop music. deep not cheap: arrangment tight not filter sweep
a welcome return for big love with a summer anthem in the making. uk duo, haji & emanuel, are back with another distinctive vocal track, this time with the unmistakable voice of roachford. the original has already been causing an early buzz in many dj sets now with a top international remix package. german trio dbn turn out an infectious club mix that pumps up the tempo. dutch / austrian duo hagenaar & albrecht crank up the energy factor on their tribal edged mix and russian pairing swanky tunes really push the peak time button on their storming remix which rounds things off nicely. big love are back with a bang!

big with: richie hawtin, dubfire, dj hell, mandy, dj t, james what, ralph lawson... well what can we say, two tracks that could not be more different from well know mainz/ germany based artist butch aka bülent gürler. the a side >destruction< is a track that so perfectly fits into the scene of german minimal house, we think it will be eaten up immediately by the dj scene. the flipside track >muskatnuss< is more challenging and made for the advanced djs. this track is weird, funky, housey and more on the side of the new school of house we get nowadays from cecille and similar labels. the track makes use of samples from butchs most sought after sample libaries that include fantastic cartoon sounds he has cut up and arranged rhythmically. a stunning performance!
abusing our soft side for dub edgar 9000 gave us these compelling tracks.>play me minus three (patience vs. epiphany mix)< û what starts like a nicely arranged minimal tune bubbles and billows after a short pause up to a big ride on the acid-dub-ghost-train. at the latest when the decently deployed and gated french horn pad sets in on the second half you are completely lost. not for quick peep û but beware: danger of addiction of endless playing is definitely given.meanwhile the title >hook & bait< of the b-side rather reads like the basic principle of fishing. it really sounds like the classic principle of ambient à well almost, since in this case this ambient track is drifting along itself, underlined with a straight driving and floating rhythm fed by an earthly bassline.petri heil! (as we say in krauts-country)
da traxer is a young french guy who makes his computer program sudies in lyon. he also makes music during weekends, and it s brillant. it s pure house music of this new century. you can feel the old school chicago ghetto house and detroit house influence on his music. sometimes bangin and powerfull or sometimes deep, but always funky. shake your booty, baby !!!!! supported by dj hell (berlin/munich) antony shakir (detroit.michigan) jori hulkkonen & more

support by: charles siegling (technasia), laurent garnier, paco osna, adam beyer, angel molina, mr statik, nihad thule, daniel mehlhart... young gun linus quick teams up with renato cohen from brasil for his premiere on incase recordings, which means you can expect two superb techtunes to shake the floor. hile linus stays in the more minimal techno context, renato adds a almost techhousy facette to the original with his remix

selected advent deal. - this debut release on new imprint numbercult is sure to make waves, pulling no punches with this weighty production. the series hits off with a anonymous artist (which most likely is not making his debut here, judging on the production skills). the a side kicks off landlines, 11 minutes of driving deepness, an overdriven stabbing subbass and solid percussion give the track monstrous bottom end with the hypnotic lead line almost vanishing in the vastness. this could be descriped as a kind of mid 90s techno... the rawer side of basic channel or fcom. an absolute sexy monster track that keeps pushing forward and remains its funky almost dubby drive. strong! from the b side clonic is a driving mills esque x 103 ish assault, layering discordant acid lines to produce an intense and relentless track, broken only once with soaring beautiful strings. a side is essential! the b side only for the headstrong. a great start for this new label from glasgow releasing limited releases of high calibre deep techno from a dynamic collective of producers. a label grounded on the basics of techno with an open mind to the future. and what a great start. check!!!
the most intriguing aspect of troy pierces and gibby millers louderbach project is the way it effortlessly pulls in so many directions and as if to underline this fact, shine - the first single to surface from the new autumn lp also appears in classic 7 inch vinyl format alongside the 12 inch and digital remix collections. drawing on shared influences such as bauhaus, coil and joy division, the duo have appropriated the best elements of these early-eighties pioneers, reinterpreting them through a contemporary lens to achieve a perfect balance of style and content
the irresistible force of ambivalent and the immovable object jpls team up on minus74 for a collaboration that can only mean trouble for the dancefloor
summer is coming back, and one of last years summer hit artists (last year with down down down...no tone) is back with another housedance hit including a massive slin project remix!!
nice price deal !!! this second outing in the series of special remix 12s from lee perrys the mighty upsetter album finds tony moody boyz thorpe back at the controls, and this time hes brought his full kit of soundsystem tools along to the job. rocking the spot on an uptempo steppers rhythm, his fired up take on international broadcaster is a tight sprung burst of bogle energy, laying righteous claim to the ground where dancehalls brash excitement meets dubsteps plunging bass dynamics. awash with selectah sounds and mile long reverb delays swirling around a monster sub-bass undertow, an insistent funkin for jamaica beat drives the ride while a slick sing jay hook from lsk rotates to habit forming effect. with the added attraction of mr scratch and mr manuva doubling on abstract deejay instructions ? adjust your face... adjust your waist - the propulsive five minute sunsplash of international broadcaster will kick up dust in every yard where they do the reggae clap. no vocal version excursion on the backside ups the needles to red on the dubwise meter for extra soundboy satisfaction.

after the inclusion of crushed by actress on the most recent prime numbers ep, we return with three tracks from one of our favourite contemporary producers. ghosts have a heaven is a heavily stripped down, minimally constructed piece built on a heavyweight kick drum whilst given movement and accentuated by filtered synth washes and sub bass which change subtly throughout the track. side 2 is taken by two tracks from the actress debut full length release on his own werk discs. hazyville is a twisted piece of electro funk expertly compressed and crackling with static energy. superb locking & popping lace the track sounding something like the avant gardism of subway theme from the wild style o.s.t pushed confidently into 2009. ext up redit 124 provides a deep clipped jackin groove with a glitchy feel. the beats are worked & moulded along with fizzing synths and jerky keys to produce a quality hybrid of sounds with its own idiosyncratic style firmly in place.
supported by: danny howels, fred everything, christian martin, jason phats, john acquaviva, scope, karotte, shur-i-kan, tonka, kolombo, james talk!! time for a special treat. its the bonus e.p. for the vinyl release of ian pooleys latest album in other words. on the bill we have manuel tur, magik johnson and pooley himself. first of is magik johnson turning heat into an old skool houser (we love the chords!), then manuel tur whos speeding up the hippest hip, giving it a deep and rich mid tempo house feel. last but not least pooley gives do the thang a brush up. very groovy as usual. enjoy the diversity!!
albion got his first bookings in high school on his friends parties and played his first gig in a club in the early nineties. ten years later he rediscovered the sound of his childhood, disco. since then he has been throwing parties and playing in clubs, digging deep for records and obsessing about long forgotten music. in 2006 albion started making the astronomix and mixtura mixes for c-b-s which made him gain his reputation as a mixer of the most far out disco this side of the moon. hes now part of the heavy outfit which is ambassadors reception
behind this german-sounding pseudonym hides a lyrical, subtle and ambitious techno. mondkopf reveals on this ep his most federative facet with a tracklist in which immediacy never sacrifices imagination. this combination of a techno basis, trancy hooks and electronica sound processing make these nuits sauvages (wild nights) ambivalent, conquering and melancholy. la dame en bleu, his major piece, is already an underground hymn. les oiseaux de balthazar, mixes vocal pads, bells and birdcalls in a fantasy techno universe on a dynamic tempo. the result, once again, sounds absolutely unique. nuit sauvage softens the layers to emphasis on crunchy riffs and strong kicks, to finally come back to an epic dimension, always around in mondkopfs songs. remix side, matzak got hold of the very mental christmas, keeping its electro spirit.
minus has released a first rate selection of home grown artist albums over the past 18 months, with heartthrob, false and gaiser all creating long players of real substance and this trend is set to continue in 2009 with arguably the label’s most significant release of recent times. louderbach’s long awaited second album autumn represents another jump in the evolutionary cycle of minimal techno, having developed from the largely instrumental project that gave us enemy love into a fully-fledged song based outfit. as a result, autumn has a much deeper feel than its predecessor and indeed breaks new ground, with the dark metaphors of gibby miller’s often chilling vocal performances fitting hand-in-glove with the ominous landscapes and broken architecture that troy pierce constructs so effectively. drawing on shared influences such as bauhaus, coil and joy division, the duo have conceived an album of emotional depth and exquisite detail, appropriating the best elements of these early-eighties pioneers and reinterpreting them through a contemporary lens to achieve a perfect balance of style and content. it’s the result of an unspoken understanding that spans thousands of miles from their respective homes in l.a. and berlin and this distant intimacy is a naturally occurring theme throughout the album, manifesting itself as dark, twilight tales of melancholy romance, burning obsession and the slow, disintegration of desire
