lucas koprowski aka his dirty secrets was born and raised in poland, today he resides in beautiful key west, florida. lucas began his career in music whilst attending the music academy in poland, graduating with his masters in classic violin. constantly searching for new techniques to expand his musical repertoire, he began taking recording studio classes, mastering software and analog instruments. eventually he designed the sounds that he later applied to his music, first, with hip-hop, then with nu-disco, which gave the original artists more recognition and independence. winning the competition for the best mix in south florida gave him a chance to play a set in one of the best underground clubs in america, the electric pickle. in 2016, he published his first ep, a compilation of his disco edits and house music with midnight riot in london. the single ended up in at #1 for several weeks on the juno disco charts and gave him the opportunity to release the vinyl with another uk label, masterworks, positively reviewed in mixmag magazine and more.

with the career spanning over 20 years, 50 eps and 10 full length albums, korablove is not new to elusive records roster. this is his third album on the label, and we are happy to have this truly prolific artist back with another seminal piece of work. hugely supported by the likes of varoslav, joachim, pawas, noah pred, toby neumann, marcus homm to name a few, korabloves previous releases on the label have shown the depth, mastership, and skills with which this artist creates his unique, intricate and soulful sound. this time, expect a journey into another dimension, korablove is doing what he does best - bending time to bring you where the past meets the future.

after bursting onto the scene in late 2017, hyperloop makes his drumcode debut with green velvet in toe. followers of truesoul will be clued up on the quality one can expect from hyperloop. last october he marked the label s 100th with in the loop , a superb three-tracker that signalled his arrival on the scene and highlighted a stunning year for the label. as 2018 picks up pace, hyperloop returns with a tougher follow up for drumcode. his mentalizm ep is a classy example of his versatility, a trio of original works, accompanied by two dj tools. beginning on a menacing tip, in your mind (reflections) is a low-end brew of industrial stabs, eerie melodies and subterranean vocals. ‘s-sound is his collaboration with chicago legend green velvet and is a percussive masterstroke of loops and drum riffs which drive the eight-minute track with all the puffing ferocity of a steam train. spring on the battlefield is the perfect contrasting accompaniment, as a warm rush of strings covers a bed of intricate analogue effects and stomping kicks.

strut present a brand new 12” reissue of shina williams monster nigerian disco anthem “agb’oju l’ogun”, pairing the rare original album version (originally released on phonodisk nigeria) with the more sparse 12” remix which surfaced later internationally on earthworks. this is the third release on strut’s new original masters series.

earth, wind & fire are obviously one of the greatest bands of all-time and both of these remixes are works of art in their own right. on the a side we have the much in-demand blaze shelter remix of -fantasy- which stretches this classic to 8.55 and finishes with an unbelievable phillip bailey acappella. as though that wasn t enough we ve put the much sought-after masters at work remix of -can t hide love- - a staple records since its debut in 2002.

h.takahashi, tokyo based architect and sound designer follows up his revered collection where to be? on where to now? records with raum, a full length lp suite of meditative pulse minimalism. raum draws its cues from a melting pot of closely connected yet wholly individual strands of minimalism - from the japanese minimalist works from the likes of hiroshi yoshimura and satoshi ashikawa, to masters such as erik satie and john cage, and ambient leaders brian eno and roedelius, takahashi soaks this historical influence and rings it out it through a modern filter to create a record of stillness, ethereal beauty, and transcendent energy. takahashi composes all of his music on his iphone, and this is no gimmick, rather a conscious decision which allows takahashi to constantly create on the go without the constraints of space, and for takahashi raum serves as a mediation on the relationship between sound and its environment. for takahashi this creative process feels something like an invisible phenomenon taking over & mutating these constantly changing spaces into abstract sound, creating a brief pseudo space which expresses and highlights the features of the environment for a moment in time.” although perhaps quite an abstract statement of intent, when deeply immersed into takahashi’s pieces this idea of slowly gliding through different architectural spaces is naturally conjured through the gentle repetitive pulse which runs through his work and the playful unstructured tonality of objects which weave around this forward (or upward) motion. raum was created across the city of tokyo, be it a café / park / office / road / platform / subway these pieces explore the power sound holds to emotionally enhance and mutate the listeners environment. the power of the music presented is in that which is barely there, embracing space, silence, and cyclical repetition. the music is to help us function - it s music to work to, to sleep to, to help us find a sense of space and oneness within a world that is increasingly wild and untameable.

timely outing from two grand masters of exploratory electronics. kassel jaeger is the moniker of french musician françois bonnet who works at the grm and has released a number of books including the highly regarded the order of sounds, a sonorous archipelago published by urbanomic in 2016. jim o rourke is known to most through his explorations of the song and shapes, the high and low, the east and south. wakes on cerulean is a joint adventure where process folds upon process and the operation of procedure remains unknown. amongst a mysterious cloud of excited high frequencies tiny whistling howls. frog leaps in technique lay out a thrilling and uplifting journey that runs from the soothing to ecstatic and back to the buoyant again. wakes on cerulean is a staggering feast of the joys found in electronic process. a malleable bubble of hovering excitement, melody and joyous refrain.

claudja barry s cult -love for the sake of love- gets mike maurro s magic remix treatment for the 7th release on brookside records. this is no ordinary edit or reworking though, mike got his hands on the actual physical master tapes and turned in a refreshed, original mix of this sleazed out downtempo monster. well known by underground disco aficionados by it s inclusion on dj harvey s earth shattering and legendary -sarcastic study masters- mix cd from 2001 this mid 70 s tom moulton mixed number came out on salsoul and caused quite a stir. this new mix really breathes new life into this stone cold classic, mike utilises lots of alternative takes, vocal vamps and instrumentation from the original sessions giving us a version that s never been heard before! a completely new, original mix. if that doesn t get all you disco fiends excited then something is seriously wrong! on the b-side mike takes claudia s -sweet dynamite- into a new realm too, again using the master tapes to full effect to create a new, refreshed version of one of her more popular jams, a raucous, slamming club cut. also released in 1976 and mixed again by tom moulton, mike maurro s version extends everything in just the right way! his rearrangements and remixes are always respectfully executed and it s clear that mike understands and feels the tracks he works on. again, another cult disco cut reworked beautifully for 2016, essential stuff for all lovers of this kind of music, this release is simply unmissable. the record comes in a full colour picture sleeve and these remixes are exclusive to this release and are fully, 100% legit, licensed and sanctioned by all relevant rights holders. simply put, another set of essential mixes from a modern day master! file under - *essential disco*

did you ever hear about christian strobe? no? hardly surprising, cause its a brand new solo-project by christian schnall, one half of disco trash music (maximal electro) and spruce (dreamy shoegaze). the german guy is musically rooted in the 80ies and early 90ies and as christian strobe, he combines airy new wave pop, retro-futurism with a pinch of house. the original mix of >midnight call< is full of magic, desire and an airy atmosphere, but still a simple pop song. the nightdrive version is recommended for nightly rides with your ferrari testarossa through big city lights. the italo-disco-pop-masters from codebreaker gives the original a funky french taste and reknowned keenhouse conjured a good-feeling remix with lovley summer-piano-chords. midnight call? you could name it sunshine call! in a more and more digital environment, the warmth of the analog vhs-tape version gives you the relaxing mood you need. the placid >lonesome astronaut< completed the debut-ep and takes you to a cosmic trip though time and space. stay tuned for the upcoming full-length album called >heartworks< in autumn 2011.

beg to differ is a dance music duo comprised of house hero nick chacona and wurst label boss roy dank. the two longtime friends started tinkering around in the studio last year, remixing the likes of detachments for thisisnotanxit as well as nicks solo outing with kathy diamond for moodmusic, and quickly finding favor with fellow new yorkers james murphy and holy ghost!. influenced by talking heads, my bloody valentine, and paulsimpson, beg to differs work is characterized by big hooks, live instrumentation, and lush production. the duos wurst debut features two massive - and decidedly different - reworks. parisian afrobeat masters bibi tanga & the selenites get the full beg to differ overhaul on >be africa<, complete with infectious arpeggios, killer keys, and an entirely new rhythm section, with nick himself on bass duties. the pop rock of the hours >ali in the jungle< is transformed into an epic, string-laden anthem taking in disco, rock, and even trance by the end of the mix. heavy to say the very least.

the remixes come from prominent producers around europe, so starting chronological from a2 to b2: sian has appeared on a lot on raves and parties with his surf board. he is an international traveller who loves to be reminded of the times when surfing farmers left their houses with door frames and no doors. his remix works in a way a countdown functions. building up tension at an incredible speed, this track is set out to explode... but sian would not be sian if he had not developed a club friendly torture . sian rides the wave of superfatt basslines and adds a sequence that sounds as if someone had replaced his teeth with thin pieces of metal, creating a humming voice comparable to one of a jaws harp. sian keeps the tension going with very few elements and shows he is a true masterof techno.
secret cinema has been accompanying us since his first releases mid of the 90ies and we truly believe quality prevails, not to mention his mayor chart hit just 3 months ago with “shake ur tech-ass”. well secret cinema is unbelievably massive in his production. we dont see how anyone can fatten up the sound more than he can. but it is not only about tuning and pimping and pimping and tuning... his remix is a masters piece of perfectionbecause it creates something rare... deep emotional hydraulic strength. this is like diving head on into a pool of silicone and getting sucked into it. this track has an hypnotic feel to it that is comparable to radiohead.
darko esser is an icon in the techno scene of the netherlands. his remix takes the track in to a direction you would not expect it could go to. starting rather minimal darkos remix soon takes a turn and brings in jack elements and cool nostalgic melodies that will warm the heart of every detroit techno lover. was it derrick may who played chords like this... these strings are looked up in the back of our heads like childhood memories of having your first popcycle exploding in your mouth. this is soulful music with just enough analogue imperfection and warmth to it.

an unreleased classic from the vaults emerges with beautiful reshapes by cv313 (recorded and reshaped from 2007-2016) this is where the sound of cv313 was realized, culled from cassette tapes recorded live (1995-2000) with nothing but analog/digital hardware, no computer in sight (excluding our commodore 64 midi sequencer, which is still alive and well today). the radius project has been absent since the final release in 2001, the first 12- appearing in 1996 (limited white label run of 100 copies pressed at acme pressing in canada) after revisiting these works we realized there was truly some magic here. this project was initially sent to rod modell & mike schommer shortly after they launched their brilliant deepchord label in 2001. they were incredibly kind in saying it was the best demo they had ever heard and passed it on to octal records for release, sadly, that didn t materialize and since then these masters have been collecting dust in our cassette rack for nearly 20 years now. we ve spent months doing our best to restore the old tapes from our tascam 688, an 8 track cassette recorder purchased and abused since 1992 and to our ears still sounds quite impressive even by modern standards. (that is of course, if you can get past the tape hiss) we ve had nearly every component replaced and re-calibrated to bring this obsolete machine back to life, it s been a truly nostalgic experience re-visiting these masters.

on his debut album the host works in a spacey interzone, using vintage gear to create dramatic panoramas for the headphoned mind. he creates a unique suite of modern impressionistic sonics that tumble and waft in and out of the mix, earthed with strong melodies that take inspiration from net-age genres while never recalling them directly. throughout, he masters all the potentials of vintage synths, drum machines and reverbs, along with guitar and bass to explore a sound that sets him apart from producers working on computers, creating something much more band-like but rich with lively micro-detail.
