oslo greeted this time with two new artists in the family. first, massimo di lena, a young producer from naples, who was talking to his groovy sound even from itself, and on the other side saac, an artist combo.
>delirous< on the a side of massimo di lena is a classic house piece in which the name is program! the public is enthusiastically kept in the clutches of this hypno track. saac gives us on the b side >crystal< - a special kind of house tool, driving and groovie.
in a subterranean tunnel, halfway between las vegas and new york is a small after hours venue where the walls are covered in red velvet and the floor littered with dreams and broken promises. over the soundsystem is the trace of a groove, deep and stark, cut into a vinyl that was already worn down before it was played the first time. welcome to the afterparty that never finishes. be careful where you put the drink!

for the first release on their marbled series, exprezoo comes up with roberto badinis >hate me< and remixes by snuff crew, massimo di lena, decoside and mute oscillator. all delivered on a beautiful transparent and smokey marbled vinyl.
first on decks.de!! italys t-bet records returns, and as with the labels past string of releases, collaboration is a key theme. this time around we have a fresh constellation of players: acirne, who is half the duo diamond dog (along with her t-bet partner signor andreoni), teams up with rio padice, known for his work on bassculture and tsuba among others.
it is incredible and a little unnerving to discover that rio padices first forays in production came as recently as 2007. 2008 saw him publish his first productions on mosaik musik, which were of a more minimal, techno nature. 2009 saw the successful collaboration with metroline limited, which has spawned a a number of releases and remixes, most notably his road to alberqueque and twin peaks eps. the same year also saw rio join forces with massimo di lena under their new alias >horacio< to release two ep s on the highly acclaimed raum musik and cynosure labels.with rio currently devoting his time to learning the production techniques of the 90s, blending the use of software, hardware and sampling, his productions, unlike so much of the current trend for looking back, have a mature and studied classic sound and feel to them

dark entries editions is proud to reissue ghost town the 1984 debut 12inch single by mono band from italy. the project was conceived by producer rene d herin and massimo fantinatiti aka fantenax. they teamed up with songwriter and guitarist luigi venegoni aka svengile who had previously worked with progressive and jazz-rock bands arti & mestieri and venegoni & co. as well as cosmic disco group stratosferic band. treading the lines between italo disco and the darker side of new wave, the trio crafted a mysterious sound. melancholic arpeggiators, a throbbing baseline, stuttering samples, and the classic linn drum machine run throughout the track. vocals were handled by an uncredited carlo rossi who raps about a ghost town filled with fear. when female vocalist elena sansonetti begins to softly whisper the chorus one might get goose bumps. the trio were joined in the studio by dj mike aka michele paolino of make up/mike up, dj moody, fabrice bellini of art fine and producer miceli. the song was recorded in a few days at dynamo sound studio in turin and originally released on the popular discomagic records. this reissue includes the original vocal version, backed with a longer dubbed out instrumental ?ghost version? on the b-side. all songs have been remastered for vinyl by george horn at fantasy studios in berkeley. the 12inch is housed in an exact replica of the original sleeve with an astrological photo the planets orbiting the sun. each copy also includes a 2-sided postcard.

almost 2 years after the success of the album the tony allen experiments and a few months after the release of the 7inch amore, nu guinea return to the scene with a new lp published by their newborn label ng records. after touring the world looking for sounds suitable for their vibrations, nu guinea decided to go back to square one, napoli, where massimo di lena and lucio aquilina were born and raised. they watched their city from a distance reconstructing its energy from their studio in berlin, calibrating the synths on the meridian of vesuvius, the volcano that has always protected and threatened napoli. nuova napoli is the result of a long musical research that has become a historical investigation on the sound that shaped napoli during the 70s and 80s, starting from the contamination of genres (disco, jazz-funk, african rhythms) which ended up in nu guineas dna. in this album the synthesizers fill the spaces between the past and the future, tightening in a single body acoustic instruments, electronics and voices in neapolitan dialect
