leonardo returns with another 4 track ep on his etheric imprint. the voyage ep shows a diverse selection of tracks ranging from peak time to downtempo. the offering delivers energy through solid punchy drums and simple but intense percussion with the main synth bringing a head turning edge. symmetry has a late night feeling to it fusing primitive and hardcore elements over a broken beat structure to create a unique elevating gem. spooky deep tech track the afterlife is dubby work out with haunting vocal samples and trippy synth hooks while droplets completes the ep off in a downtempo vibe incorporating the same edgy raw feeling of many of his previous productions.

leonardo arrives as a new artist in 2018 having been promptly picked up by alan fitzpatrick for his we are the brave label project. a string of releases are planned and in place for 2018 on watb with offerings also coming here on his own imprint etheric, which serves as an outlet for leonardo s music outside of his ongoing relationship with we are the brave. the origin ep is a collection of four tracks that draw on primitive feelings, heavily influenced by recent trips travelling through peru and south america. the ep has a trippy hedonistic feel and represents leonardo s take on a tribal rave in the depths on the amazonian rainforest, while still drawing on futuristic and electronic elements.

its already been two years since leonardo martellis debut with the four-tracker menti singole. he has since been following the direction he took with this first release, at a rather slow path, releasing a lone and haunted mini-album, previsto, in the meantime. with menti singole vol.2, martelli establishes a picture of his music, an update of his aspirations in the feminine.

electro kicks, raw textures, ominous choirs: l immaginario, previstos opening track, ties a bound between martellis two releases on antinote, giving us one last glimpse at the uninhabited post-apocalyptic landscapes drawn in menti singole. however, this time leonardo martelli explores a more urban universe, as the use of rap samples on negli abissi and lo schema suggests. martelli exploits their aggressiveness in a way that somehow reminds us of minimalist rap tapes from memphis. the third tracks title makes it even clearer: called leggende metropolitane, the song is a trip into the darkest blind alleys of the city, an invitation to wander among human wastes, driven by its light kick.

seth troxler offers up the next installment in a lauded series of 12inches on his no nonsense, club-focused imprint play it say it. with previous releases coming from butch, the mekanism and steve lawler, next in line is a new addition to the roster: leonardo gonnelli.

vulnicura strings ist eine von streichinstrumenten eingespielte version von björks gefeiertem achten studioalbum »vulnicura«. um einige der arrangements einzuspielen, verwendete björk die weltweit einzige viola organista, ein ursprünglich von leonardo da vinci entworfenes instrument, dessen bau sein erfinder allerdings nicht mehr erlebte. das instrument versetzt mittels eines traktionsriemens einzelne saiten in schwingung (ähnlich einer geige), wobei die saiten durch das anspielen von klaviertasten ausgewählt werden (ähnlich einer orgel). das instrument wurde in krakau von seinem erbauer s&#322,,,,,,awomir zubrzycki aufgenommen, der damit das album zur vollendung brachte.

the third release on palms & charms comes from tokyo club stalwart masanori ikeda (mansfield, ikeda x), who has had previous releases on the legendary flower records and cos/mes imprint snaker. a resident dj at london club wag in the early 90 s, masanori returned to japan later in the decade and has since provided the soundtrack to many a tokyo night-time adventure, most recently with his continuing residency at shibuya institution oath. with afro tipsy, masanori offers up a monster of rolling percussion and pulsating synths. feel the stress of the day fall away, your veins flowing as if with the very energy of a thousand suns. moving confidently to the dance floor, your head and limbs begin to move in new and unexpected rhythms. don t be alarmed - you feel good. on the flipside, the remix from almunia (claremont 56) takes you deeper than deep. the sound envelops you as you enter the club. the continental winds and low pressure lift you aloft and you circulate around the dance floor, carried far as if on a warm jet stream. the rhythm drives, dubbed-out guitar echoing through the night. leonardo ceccanti and gianluca salvadori taking you to new places.
