goldbrick records third release comes from irish duo ringolevio. made over the course of a few months in various rooms around dublin, the record sways from playful electro to straight up jams with a few emotions in between. as more and more young people cant afford to live in dublin city, ringolevio has some advice: eat your landlord, stone the dáil, defecate in the banks, moon the dup, hammer neo-liberalism, repeal the fuck out of the eighth, vandalise the donut shops.
what does teen spirit smell like, anyway? it might smell something like noise addict. like the real life stars of some sort of choose-your-own-adventure book about pursuing rock stardom, few bands ever led a more charmed existence, springing from the sydney suburb of bondi into seemingly overnight international fame as friends and collaborators of sonic youth, fugazi, and the beastie boys. through a combination of relentless drive, luck, and an admirable lack of self-doubt, noise addict spanned puberty to surpass the haters and join radio birdman and nick cave as a strange but permanent piece of australian punk history.
compiled here are 25 tracks, including their evan dando-worshipping satire i wish i was him, the thurston moore produced demo, choice cuts from their grand royal-issued ep and lp, and covers of lets lynch the landlord and back in your life. the entire sordid adolescent tale is covered in incredible detail inside the black and white 16 page zine. and finally, for the first time in the history of record pressing, and for no good reason at all, the cover for 10.000 kids with guitars doubles as a working chalkboard.
limited to 2000 copies on black vinyl.
imyrmind s debut album uniwersum luxus surfaces at record stores worldwide on february 27th, 2017 courtesy of berlin-based money $ex records. idiosyncrasies of both imyrmind himself, and indeed the label as a whole, seep through the fabric of the album, a patchwork of tasteful re-appropriation and sophisticated originality.covering a broad landscape of raw, gutsy minimalism, mesmeric synthwork and trademark ultra-loose beat-making, imyrmind has crafted a record that embodies his rapacious ear and well-groomed production style. in a maturation of techniques explored across earlier releases, borrowed organic textures meet frazzled analogue electronics and clunky, lagging beat iterations in a collection of tracks ranging from the quivering to the aggressive. uniwersum luxus is a bright convergence of influence and innovation, all reverberating within the echo chamber of the money $ex world, self-aware, playful, and at times even ironic.

the eraly years of a decade are good times for exploration, just like in 1993 when we (alex & sasa) first started working together. we rented a huge loft space on ave b & 2nd st. in the east village in manhattan. the winter was tough, we had 16 snow storms and due to a landlord who hated everybody, we had our heating turned off except for a few hours in the morning, sometimes not even that... the only way to stay warm was to wear hats, gloves and scarves the whole winter... but that was fine because nightlife was a lot of fun. there was a good club/party every night. right below where we lived was one of the best after hour clubs called >save the robots<. but one of my favourite parties was >sugar babes< which was at the cbgbs gallery space right next door to cbgbs, every monday night. the dj used to sample parts of the records he was mixing and then just play the loop of the sample and alongside was a drummer playing to it. it was really inspiring. so we wanted to go back to this idea of sound assembly and create a new series for us to work with called >skematics< its like a diagram or manual to help understand the interconnections between the odd parts we find and assemble, an imaginary manual for a new decade that has not been musically defined yet
the crucials first single love me forever is a faithful cover of the studio one classic originally recorded by carlton and the shoes in the late sixties. recorded at strongroom studios in london and produced by the landlord (ranking records), this is a sweet slice of classic reggae to ease you into the festive period
