for the new album, liars and prayers, thalia has expanded upon her touring band of the last few years of daniel coughlin (drums) and david curry (viola, trumpet) to fill out the sound with the bass and piano of winston braman (consonant, sherperdess, fuzzy) and mel lederman (victory at sea). liars and prayers is the masterwork of her thus far impressive career. her voice and songs have never been stronger and the full band and the recording by andrew schneider (unsane, cave in) allows her to combine the delicacy of the arrangements of her trio with the force that was her band come. the very moving body memory is a poignant example of this perfect synthesis.
again loose records comes with excellent driven minimalistic techno tracks full of rollin percussions and wicked samples, this time by rino cerrone & joseph capriati

dj support by : 2000 and one, karotte, james flavour, tobi neumann.... after already four strong 12inches on audiomatique we proudly welcome back robert babicz with his fifth audiomatique release: >dark flower< is a shiny groover accompanied y a beautiful remix from rotterdam based techno-veteran joris voorn. the a-side features two new tracks by robert, >dark flower< & >spiralboogie<. >dark flower< showcases roberts typical handwriting: a dry, but funky groove construct with melancolic and deep synths while some highly seductive bass slaps create this very special babicz feeling. >spiralboogie< spreads its magic on a2. slowly building, having the funk in the trunk and fully focussed on simple, but reliable qualities. forward ever, backwards never. the flipside holds our chefs suggestion: an extraordinary joris voorn remix of >dark flower< which already stirred a huge buzz when steve bug tested it on his recent japan-tour or robert played it out in brasil last month. joris voorns mix perfectly combines floating harmonies with a thrilling drive. simply irresistible
including brandnew deep remix by gnewkow & norm with hypnotic chords and huge breakdowns, and massive electro house rework by olivier giacomotto - next to the original mix! excellent new hifi stories release!
now up to its third release, soul science recordings continues to deliver high quality, soulful, deep electronic dance music with joel harrisons latest: high voltage. commencing with the original mix, this track does exactly what it says on the tin delivering electrifying, pumping, deep, nu school house. taking sparse electro bleeps as an introduction, the environment starts out building steadily with increasing urgency. utilising sweet and cleverly processed vocal samples as motifs, the track develops into a full on dancefloor mover, complete with thumping kicks, fat chord stabs (for fans of the original detroit masters) and a bouncing off kilter bassline - something of a harrison specialism... wearing his influences proudly on his sleeve, joel has created another sublime electronic deep house track for fans of spirit catcher, john tejada, freerange records and beyond...
risen from the dead, the incredible mr john starlight is ridin dirty and kickin some dust with his new one sided bass o mator... killer tune ... already played by tiga (oh man. new starlight is the fucking best!!!), soulwax, housemeister, cajuan and more ... with the track back on cocoon records

prepare for some bonus beats from john spring, following his last year’s fabulously striking >ready to broadcast< (sus_66). from the start >skychef< is bleeping and clonking along with a bold carelessness, until the sprouting bass growth spreads a still dry, but irresistible drive, whose modulated bursts are there to cause joyfully puzzled faces on the dancefloor - john spring in grand condition! the remix of veteran whizz-kid dan curtin adds a full ladle of truthful techno on top. the bustling american celebrates the foundations of the genre with the aid of classic hypnosis and a solidly rolling bass footing, and proves to be the perfect add-on to the lightfooted original.
joseph capriati caused a big stir in the scene when his massive tunes on analytic trail 17 were released. this hit got repressed several times already and is still selling big numbers. especially for labelowner of both mkt and analytic trail he cooperated with the man himself markantonio

dope new highly limited vinyl 7inch of rain forest featuring exclusive mixes of this beautiful psychedelic house tour de force. experimenting with the uncomfortable mixture of dance friendly production and the sternly serious project of psychedelic adventurism!! these mixes are undoubtedly in a more exploratory tone. luscious chords set the framework for this piano led masterpiece, all the while drifting along on perfectly placed synth arrangements. rain forest might appear pretty at first, a closer listen will yield more confusing emotional reaction as the record at once soothes and disorients. of course, anyone experienced in introspective exploration and healing should know nourishment and pain are not mutually exclusive
with this release the spring buds sprout on upon you. lee jones, member of mymy and daniel dreier have delivered two great early blossoms which- like we have expected, holds no house-spuds under the ground. inspired by the facet richness of the sounds in >a man< on a1, marco resmann went on to plant his special note of funkyness on b1
heib jackt bei >odyssey< wie ein johnny depp schauspielert. intensiv! bei der tragenden epik von >solar< dagegen fühlen wir uns eher an ausnahmetalente wie carl craig oder radioslave erinnert. unbedingt ausprobieren
powerful 2-tracker with max dancefloor effect. /fuck on/ is a proper funky minitechno rocker with spectral atmospheres and a vibrant bassline whilst /girotondo/ is mainly based on warm chords, a deep bass and fired twists.
the latest release on two faces shows a slightly different side of the label and introduces the new artist björn leineweber. björn combines modern electronic clubmusic with rock and punk influences and his special german vocals to a very own style. the original mix of >dieser ton< shows his full talent for writing exceptional lyrics, beautiful harmonies and creating unique sound designs. a track with a lot of feelings. on a2 we find position:greenfield - an artist out of the label environment. he developed a remix with classic techno elements and unexpected variances. a track for the early morning hours to deeply touch the crowd. on the flip the label boss himself makes a very compact groovy floorburner. perhaps one of the hits in 2008 ... no more words needed
after big start with john dahlbäck, here comes the massive follow-up release on hifi stories. big collaboration between dj chus & peter gelderblom, including brandnew remixes by roman salzger (joia records) and rob mirage (stereo productions)
a joint effort between prins thomas and word and sound- the idea behind the label is to put out good music and not limiting ourselves to stick with a specific genre, instead opting to stay fresh and individual with each release going in every direction we feel. we re gonna be highlighting new talent, re-releasing some lesser known nuggets and certainly give you some dancefloor killers along the way to. from japanese techno to california kraut : ) just the way we like it... second release up is a taste of what s to come later in 2008 when we drop windsurfs debut album. these 4 tracks where initially planned for release on sentrall but where for some strange reason scrapped and made available as mp3 only. too sad as this is some of the finest heady downbeat electronic music to appear in the current baleric, cosmic blah blah blah call it what you want scene. windsurf consists of 1 part sorcerer and 1 part hatchback, both has records out on tirk and thisisnotanexit respectively and they ve also managed to deliever killer reworks of lcd soundsystem and shawn lee s ping pong orchestra(to be unleashed early 2008). crafting their own musical universeout of layers and layers of guitars and synths, never going for the obvious... well, im not gonna spend more time trying to convince you, check it out at wordandsound.de(paste in appropriate link here f.ex....)
sweet little vocal number here. includes thomas gold remix, a techy house mix by micky slim and this hands up in the air bigroom trance remix by dougal & gammer
number one for splitsound with abnormal boyz & joseph capriati... presenting their image of >electronic music< like a >picture impressed in the vinyl< with an ep with different points of views and the consciousness that the music will break the senses of the listeners... >termal eyes< is a minimal house track of excellent quality, for exigent djs, >another vision of space< is a killing floor track, dangerous alchemy of hypno-grooves with techno flavour. >things changes< remixed by andre crom (heimatmelodie, memo & leftroom) is with his authors words: >the maximise of minimise<, essential structure of bass lines and riffs gives a direct kick into the bones
