after the release of its 5 year anniversary ep with ricardo villalobos & umho, drumma records starts off 2017 with its sixteenth release - resolutions by faster. the romanian artist brings us three outstanding dance floor tracks. >got to give< is an excellent club piece with a funky minimal ostinato, perfect for energetic and deep sets. the tracks long duration keeps us constantly floating and finally reaches a zenith half-way through. without a doubt, this composition will allow long, purposeful mixes and calm any crowds jitters. on the b-side, >got to take< is a track with a relaxed tempo where beautiful bells and percussive instruments ring out while we feel ethereal and mysterious melodies forming as landscapes in the background of a painting. a perfect b-side to listen to at home or to bring down a club in a sunrise set. 180g and vinyl only!

white visitation steps up with his second release for blank slate. 013 sees the rising producer stepping into faster, more techno centric realms with a thumping low end and heavily textured layers of percussion. seriously heavy, high intensity rollers straight from the lab.

musicalitys second release is a remake of the gil scott heron b-side *the klan*, featuring allan barnes formerly of the blackbyrds, and craig huckaby. the a-side has a wind and keys driven retro-funkiness, aided by latin percussion. kemeticjusts remix on the b glues everything together into a slightly faster house-tempo, increasing the propulsion, and likely causing lively dancing to break out. it was mixed by pirahnahead at united sound systems, and mastered by the legendary herb powers. musicality is the brainchild of producer/dj seth dedikate carter.

for this release kurbits once again turns to the romanian artist faster aka laurentiu suciu. since fasters last release on kurbits in 2011, the romanian has established his position on the scene with gigs all over the world and quality releases on labels such as vinyl club and rora. on this release we see faster continiung and developing the deep and hypnotic sounds of previous releases. orchestra modificata is something as rare as a subtle big track. the pads sure speak the language of big room business, but in combination with the exquisite percussion work, the track takes us to exciting unexplored dimensions. on the flip we have daca vrei. its radiant mood and the laid back breakbeats, make it the perfect ingridient for those early morning sessions when a little pinch of sunshine is all you need to take the crowd to party heaven. we sincerely hope you ll have as much pleasure with these tracks as we a have. we ll be back soon with new and exciting rhythms.

the first volume of the new remixes series is up next on bld tape recordings. original tracks previously released have been revisited by artists that support the label since the early days and give shape to this varied and solid 3 remixes ep. on side a, eric cloutier blurs the line between deep house and techno with a signature theorem remix of the transpose layered with acid basslines and scuffled dub chords. stojche pops up on b1 with an advanced power house-ish vision of crawling showcasing drums, chords and leads precisely crafted. and on b2, copenhagen-based anastasia kristensen delivers her take on bubble games bringing us into a trippy and faster dark mood charged by repetition and enigmatic pads.

"moscow is the city full of posh decorations. like a black hole, it’s gorging clouds of chaotic ideas. madly fast, it’s flooded with shallow hippies, jealous dealers and susceptible artists. everyone desires to have its own piece of luck, looking for the shortest way to some easy life. most of the nomads arrive from the capital suburbs and other big cities of immensely corrupted russia. everyone can tell a tale from outskirt. senseless rivalry and art falsity together make the special demands: your tale has to amaze, to inculcate; you must do something notable, freaky one and truthful. to dare to let it. there are no any rules. your voice has no matter, the only important is a sales skill. the local scene is tired of identical copying outside world’s standards. thereby the more your approach is unacceptable, the more valued is it. but the more it’s valued, the faster it will depreciate. the glossy shell with cheap content is the way to survive in such a tight plexus of cruel love, substance abuse and electronic music."

joe powers is from edinburgh, far outside the network of the grime capital of london. his caffeinated productions as proc fiskal are faster than usual, with many clocking in at 160bpm. ‘the highland mob’, his 2017 debut ep, opened up his music to open-eared footwork and drum’n’bass fans as well as the grime crowd. after following that up with a jungle-inflected ep on cosmic bridge, ‘insula’ switches the feel and intention towards a personal, and melodic music with one foot in grime, infused with often comic, often wistful recorded moments from his environment. he says ‘i wanted to be aware of where the music is coming from, referencing things i’m presently experiencing, like making grime, my radar radio show, phone addiction, alcohol, my surroundings, girls, depression, positivity, being unemployed, being employed and hating it, my friends etc. trying to be true to myself instead of relying on other peoples’ nostalgia, and focusing on now.’ the record is a huge leap in vision, with delicate, pointillist melodies and intricate edits reminiscent of grime producers such as terror danjah. it also resonates with japanese video game music like that recently explored on the ‘diggin in the carts’ compilation. ‘i think i probably make tunes to get out emotions i don’t express in day-to-day life. i used clips of my friends talking, drunk folk, and general scottish life to preserve and represent what my experience is like right now, like a time capsule. social media notification sounds are designed to release serotonin, which is what i’d like my music to do, to make me, and other people happy, and in using these manipulative noises in a positive way, i like to think i’m taking back the power of the manipulation.’ proc fiskal is adventurous and thoughtful as a producer, and at the young age of 21, his debut album is very advanced in its ideas and execution

the grand, sweeping sonic explorations of “pretoria”, from john matthias and jay auborn’s 2017 album “race to zero”, are given new life on this four-track remix ep.
moon gangs (better known as william young, keyboardist in bristol-based electronic outfit beak>) takes the reins first, delivering a thunderous take on the original’s faster-paced second half. typically of the artist, the track builds and builds in intensity, climaxing with an apocalypse of emotional, layered synths.
bristol’s cuts strips back the elements for a much darker reworking. a single, repeating piano note echoes into wide, open space alongside the original’s antique violins before clattering percussion and synths enter the mix for the most foreboding turn of the release.
closing the ep, former mogwai member john cummings also bases his reinterpretation around the original’s piano. but where cuts leans on moody darkness, cummings take is more upbeat, courtesy of a driving four to the floor kick and fidgety, high-pitched piano.

following the success of ‘ride’ with miss kittin, eminent sci+tec founder dubfire returns with another chaos-conjuring techno composition. previously the sole-preserve of his epic sense-blurring hybrid show, dubfire is finally unleashing ‘dust devil’… his first solo release in several years, ‘dust devil’ is all about precision momentum. a move that dubfire’s made his signature, you can physically feel movement and destination throughout. especially as we reach the short breakdown where the riff revolves faster and higher, providing space for the echoed stabs that whirl and twist around you intensely. as the drums re-ignite, the riff is suddenly converted into groove energy as the jack-minded persistence brings the elements back together with pure focus. this is what ali has to say… “this was an instrumental i had done that i wasn’t quite sure what to do with. it wasn’t strong enough for a lead single and it always felt as though there was something missing, perhaps a spoken or sung vocal. so i sort of put it out of my mind until it was time to compile the music for the hybrid show back in the summer of 2013. once i had the backbone of the set list, along with the visual look, there seemed to be a more defined mood and look. and when i happened upon this track again it seemed to have been tailor-made for this show. it was also nice to insert something no one had heard before to break things up a bit.

hydergine is back on knotweed. he delivers his immediately recognisable style of dub techno, just a bit harder and faster than his usual self. the tracks are full of dreamy textures, ethereal synths, intricate drum-programming and bird-like sounds. this record oozes positive vibrations and will for sure make you fly during the summer!

without artwork cover - only standard cover (see picture)...ltd warehouse / backstock - the midnite ep is the follow up ep to delano smith s sunrise ep on third ear recordings, released at the end of 2008. the sunrise ep was one of the underground house records of 2009, and the midnite ep is set to be one of the underground house records of 2010. both delano and us think the midnite ep is better than sunrise. after the sunrise ep, we decided to do it again and maintain the theme and name the next ep after a moment, a feeling within the dance floor experience. we decided on midnite. once again we have selected four tracks from a selection that delano sent us. you can play these tracks at any time of the day or night, and we encourage you to experiment in this way. however, dropping any of these tracks at midnite will ensure that you, your dance floor and all the people in the room will be set up for the journey. :-) a1: a special kind is constructed in the classic style of filtered samples from another record over a fat (really fat as this is a record made in detroit) kick drum. the samples are from ashford and simpson s stay free from 1979 on warner bros records. it is a sign of a good dance music producer that s/he can take an already great track and turn it into a dance floor bomb. delano has done this with a special kind. 117bpm. a2: dee s gruv is a very deep, very atmospheric groove. a crisp snare, a growling bass, a kick drum of varying intensity though the track framing the vibe, and a subtly modulating chord that goes on forever. hi-hats and ride cymbal move in and out of the track as it ebbs and flows. this kind of deep, grooving suspension of time is becoming a delano smith speciality. 122bpm. b1: the exploration is delano working through the same ideas as he explores in dee s gruv. hitting harder and driving faster than dees gruv, the exploration is a continuation of delano s search for the ultimate deep house groove. all students of electronic dance music should check this.

youandewan makes his voyage debut with luna via, a three track ep sitting comfortably at home, above the ether. the opening piece is spread across the a side, with two separate interpretations, ciel and vessel . ciel is the faster, uplifting predecessor to vessel , which remains slow and nostalgic. on the flip, a touch of familiarity with the antonymously named stranger (glad eye), a surging take on house music and youandewan s various influences. luna via is also accompanied by a full sleeve interpretation by melbourne s sprinkles.

gouru is launching its own label, submersive, with an ep from brendon moeller aka. echologist, including a remix from french duo hbtvsk (voiski & heartbeat).in 2014, to celebrate the 4th birthday of the webzine gouru, brendon moeller and hbtvsk were invited to play at la machine du moulin rouge (paris). following a car accident on his way to the airport of new york, brendon was unable to appear and play. to make up for this unfortunate incident, gouru offered brendon the inauguration of its new label submersive, and invited heartbeat & voiski aka hbtvsk, the duo he was supposed to share the stage with, to remix one track. 2 years later, the first ep of the label gathers all 3 artists who were not able to share the decks on stage, on the same record. as brendon himself says , “all good things take time” and instead of evoking the nostalgy of a party that did not happen, the record opens the doors of the imagination and takes us to a powerful collaboration between 2 artists’ generations, thereby showing us the techno scene at its best.zur opens the ball and sets the tone of the ep, a dub and progressive rise, based on a cyclic structure, punctuated by a random reverb. tension is maintained throughout and finally leaves room to filth, whose rhythm is faster, unrestrained, yet keeps an air of suspense and unpredictability - the perfect soundtrack for an exhausting race. looking for trouble plays on a more hypnotic side. with a dark yet electrifying atmosphere, rhythms are exalted by a strident and piercing melody, evolving alongside uncontrollable sounds, throwing us straight into a cosmic trip. faithful to the spirit of the ep, the filth remix delivered by hbtvsk is a perfect exercise of style. without denaturing the original track, the remix revisits it. its’ heavy, powerful mechanism is, at the same time, accurate and sharpened. certain parts of the original track are easily recognizable, which finally get lost in the subtle gearwheel of an anthem tinted by noise.

crazyjack records is the brand new project from the parisian underground music website and party-promoting collective of the same name. we are proud to announce its first release with their romanian friends phrasis veteris. being one of the most talented newcomer producers in the recent romanian electronic music circus, barcaceanu ginel & manea adrian aka phrasis veteris released their first vinyl on all inn records, in october 2011. their tracks have been played and supported by many prominent djs.

this music works by releasing carbon dioxide gas into a batter through an acid-base reaction, causing bubbles in the wet mixture to expand and thus leavening the mixture. it is used where the batter lacks the elastic structure to hold gas bubbles for more than a few minutes. because carbon dioxide is released at a faster rate through the acid-base reaction than through fermentation, music made by chemical leavening is called >quick compositions. the tracks are made up of an alkaline component, one or more acid salts, and an inert starch (cornstarch in most cases, though potato starch is also used).

reissue of album from 1975/a satisfying dramatics collection that includes their revised, campy version of me and mrs. jones, which had remained a staple of their live shows. astrology was riding high in the mid 70s, and (i m going by) the stars in your eyes provided fodder for astrological discussions as the guys poo poohed the differences in personality traits associated with the signs. a good balance of fast and slow tunes helps make this album a winner. good things dont come easy and never let you go are two frantic dancers that chug along faster than a speeding locomotive, while trying to get over losing you succeeds in treating losing your lover in a positive, uplifting way. the guys must have been loaded with material to keep this one off a 45. likewise for the aching, painful i cried all the way home, one of tony hesters best compositions, and easily the best ballad on the album.
