one per customer! edwards 2nd album -into a better future- accompanies you for hours, makes you forget that daily grind. it is serious encouragement of movement, telling you to get away from the thick mess and find your way onto a proper highway. you will pass machines along the side of the road, engaged in a process of construction while your hands feel clean. and once in a while you ll hear the sound of sunrise and sunset racing each other in a tight rhythm.

edwards graceful take on modern house and techno is a perfect fit for trelik, and the german producer sounds comfortable as he unfurls swooning threads of otherworldly music for the tripped out dancefloor. the ogermania mx of mikko is a hazy, string soaked affair pitched somewhere warm and dreamlike, but there s plenty of energy churning away in the lower register. lottery is a more twitchy affair for darker times, all moody bass bounce and looming drones around a shuffling set of percussion. groaning ghosts is the techiest of the bunch, and theres a whole lot of freaked out sound design swirling around in the mix as well. this is simply stunning, highly advanced dance music from a modern day maestro.

three releases deep now, shadow play transports us back to the nineties with this extra special collection of music from uk wizard scott edward. the bristolian producer dropped a killer series of tracks from 1993 onwards, using a variety of aliases to explore the realms of the techno universe. it’s an honour for shadow play to be able to rerelease one of scott’s classics, access activist, alongside three previously unreleased cuts from the same era. we hope you enjoy these classic examples of british underground techno.

norse deity of the discotheque, prins thomas, and knight of the giegling realm, edward, are the first in line to remix sepalcures sophomore album folding time. prins charming applies his renowned diskomiks touch to lead single fight for us, rubbing the sun-kissed r&b of the original into an extended dance-floor affair, all strut, slap and tickle. edward, on the other hand, takes loosen up and screams rave! over ten minutes of blockrocking beats that evolve into a gilded climax of laser beams and melodic euphoria.

aus music ready the remix package from sei a’s forthcoming landmark space in your mind album which is due for release in march 2016. enlisted for the first remix from the lp is gilles aiken the giegling artist better known as edward.and life & death founder dj tennis has turned in two killer mixes his take on ancestors clocks in at 13 minutes and with a palette of tightly clipped drums, spectral vocals and chilly synth lines it steadily renders an unearthly landscape whilst dj tennis takes things much broodier with his two reworks

seems like somethings going on across the pond at the moment with seemingly blossoming, or at least rejuvenated scenes in the united states and canada. our last handful of releases on freerange have included artists from montreal, tujuana, pittsburgh and chicago and were about to add los angeles to the list with this new one from justin jay and ulf bonde. the young producers have been steadily building steam with a number of fine releases the last couple of years and we welcome them to freerange for their debut ep entitled indecision. the title track sets the mood with a low-slung, super-deep house groove complete with an intimate vocal and a charming simplicity which contributes to the powerful end result. elements come into focus then disappear in a fog of reverb whilst playful guitar picks add a live jammed feel to the loping groove giving things a bob moses/francis harris kind of vibe

a groove-led production, it relies on a hefty bassline together with crisp percussion and a heady set of pads that will transport you to a higher plain. new york legend jovonn, a previous contributor to the label and an inspiration to apollonia, also lends his talents to reconfiguring ‘sona’. his version works around that gritty, jazz-infused sound

2016 repress , with this ep reilg makes his debut on his own label, lofile. much more subdued than the first ep, lfr 002s a-side appears almost minimalistic, touched with melancholy - going into a deeper state of mind with its bright, clear and distinct accents - like the first rays of dawn, breaking through its background. its like a dark bokeh, rough and raw, clearly influenced by deep techno tracks.its sounds create a mood close to labels like dial and giegling, geared to the morning hours.the b-side remixes by edward and tilman tausendfreund become much more peak time fitting.edwards soulitude remix with a touch of electro strikes with deep and iridescent gravitational attraction.the derailed remix by tilman tausendfreund tops it off,with its acid bassline and house inspired sound. light and bright like a summer breeze, its impossible to not be touched and drawn towards its timbre.
