since the release of his 2 first albums on favorite recordings, lucas arruda has quickly established himself as one of the most talented young artist and composer from brazil. his music is filled with fusion style, mixing influences and elements from his latin musical background, with his genuine admiration for jazz, soul and funk music. . here s a new single, announcing the release of lucas’ third album. this new opus is pursuing the music direction set with solar, mixing touch of blue-eyed-soul, pop, soul and brazilian styles together, and influenced by the path of legendary brazilian producer lincoln olivetti, who recorded some of the biggest stars of brazilian music (marcos valle, jorge ben, tim maia…).

candido cameron was a cuban percussion maestro who had played with luminaries such as dizzy gillespie, buddy rich and count basie throughout his illustrious musical career which started in 1952. fast forward to 1979 and candido finds himself caught up in the disco boom that had engulfed his adopted new york city. feeling he could add his trademark quick-fire conga and bongo playing to disco s straight 4x4 syncopated rhythm he cut some records with legendary nyc label salsoul. the fruits of this partnership were 2 full length lp s and a handful of 12inch singles that changed the face of underground disco.

transmissions from the cyber dance imprint have been sporadic since its inception in 2005, but when they arrive they are always something very special indeed. ostensibly one of italo discos great lost producers, we suspect that bandidos gang may well be a nom de plume for one of the labels many associates. whatever their provenance, the tracks certainly sound like vintage italo, with >marinche< leading with a pulsating bass arpeggio and synth horn melody worthy of moroder, whilst the flemming dalum & steen gjerulff remix adds layers of vocoder and a variety of cosmic accents to its sturdy frame. >last train to tucamari< meanwhile takes a more languid approach, pulling in an opposite direction to the speeding train samples, whilst flemming dalum & mike saltas remix adds some guitar licks, hazy synth atmospherics and even a flute solo which just adds to the classic italo feel.
