after releasing space control an intergalactic journey into synthesizers, back in 2012, the theremynt duo went on to release a successful, if steady, stream of eps, including robotique de l amou r and vampiros discos (a tribute to brazilian filmmaker ze do caixao). with remixes coming from the likes of david carretta, acid washed and club bizarre, these were playlisted by scene djs such as marvin & guy and ivan smagghe, amongst others. now yann and eva are striking back with their second lp, parallels. it s a record that sees them changing their colour palette and mood, but one that s still haunted by ghosts that lurk within their synthesizers and drum machines. the 10 tracks still exhibit peel s ever shifting vocal style and yann s sophisticated arrangements. but the second lp oscillates between ballad and dancefloor, landing between cosmic disco influences, krautrock and other progressive techno sounds. as a bonus, the album also features a cover of famous 80 s anthem self control. adriano canzian has by now developed a trademark sound unlike any other, a genre-twisting hybrid of ebm, techno, industrial and acid beats that has acquired nuance and influences throughout the years, aiming at that uniqueness he’s always been reaching for. confessions of a dangerous mind is a breathless, unrelenting march of a record, a whirlwind of classic industrial sounds driven by a hammering pulse and a shimmer of melting matter. david carretta’s remix smoothens out some edges into a mix of techno and new beats, then canzian charges on again with sick goates, skillfully adding noise frequencies to a goth background, before letting spain’s the plumbers close with their rendition of sleeplessness, marked by a dub-sprinkled techno no less belligerent than most of canzian’s catalogue.

what would electronic music be without remixes? this is a question andrew claristidge had to answer last year after releasing his first solo album danser ou mourir. reworking the song of an other musician is a common thing nowadays. what is the purpose of it ? what if we would do the same in literature ? imagine asking philip roth to rewrite houellebecq... this is pure fantasy and this came to andrew s head.

this classic and legendary track from 79 belongs to the very origins of techno. it has been sampled by djs but was >impossible to find on vinyl<, now this finally changed! the track is back on vinyl and even includes some new remixes. danton eeproms remix a real club monster, and terence fixmer remix with an unexpected groovy mood sound, changing suddenly into a dark deep track. crash course in science have also reworked this year their own original mix and now deliver us a new version, that prove us that they are not out of date, but still remain the real brain of sounds, that for many artists has been the core influence of techno.

after almost 2 years without publishing new material. the label properproud reappears with this ep limited to 250 copies. the owners of the label santi and roger (strange connection) have worked very hard to remind everyone with this record that the electro-techno and ebm will not die ever! this time, properproud back with more force and with the intention of staying forever. closing mouths includes 4 tracks of 4 major artists and the name isn t coincidental. it s time to shut many mouths that don t rely on this kind of music the first one closing mouths (a1) has been signed by the owners of the label (strange connection) is the first time published in properproud. a track of pure ebm, dark and evil but with great force and which has received great support from artists like angel molina and dave clarke who has played several times in his white noise radio show. the second one hurt me (a2) has been signed by jonathann cast in collaboration with the voices of drey. after publishing in dancefloor killers come to properproud and do it in a forceful and dark track that can move any dance floor. bluntly electro-techno and without mercy! on b side, we find 2 of the best signings he has made during that properproud parentheses. in the first cut (b1) adriano canzian, currently one of the most bizarre techno artists, with halim the dream shows because david carretta and dj hell is set in it. a brutal track, direct and intended to enjoy it in a club. dave clarke has supported it without hesitation. and to finish off the ep, ruben montesco (b2), after his passage through lasergun and other labels turn to properproud to demonstrate in madrid that also makes good techno and ebm. insomniac s red room is a dark track, evil but with a lot of energy and a perfect voice. rubÚn besides being a great friend and supporter of properproud is undoubtedly one of the best producers of this style at national level. 4 tracks that shape a piece of craft for lovers of brazen sounds and is the first of a series of 12 inch that will see the light soon and will be limited to 250 copies. properproud is back .... stop the minimal. use your brain!
