it seems that dapayk used to listen to a lot of hip-hop when he was younger. his latest ep for still vor talent >let go< has got these influences written all over it. the title track starts out with a male vocal and some sounds that sound a little like scratching before things then quickly head into the direction of the club. the vocal by singer camara could not be more reminiscent of 80s house music and this track has got all the soul and groove of this era. beneath the delicate vocal and sound patterns lies a wonderfully simply staccato house groove that is sure to get everyone shuffling. on the flip things get a little more techy with >nneka<, a deeper and more melodic tech house glider that gently takes the listener towards a harmonic state of mind. beautifully arpeggiated pads, a warm soulful groove and some reverbed vocals make this one. last up is the sample-based tech-house stomper >upyo< featuring production partner jon hester. this is loop heaven: a pushy beat loop with many snares, reverse samples and an unexpected saxophone melody make this one the perfect changeover track from warm-up to peak-time. this ep shows dapayks skills to combine many musical influences into his unique still of tech-house music

the old stager and stuttgart-representative of the minimalistic house and techno scene vladimir corbin and his ally peddy collaborate on mos ferry number 55. the icing on the cake is the label owners appearance as remix producer! >sinner city (feat. sackjo22)< is a variable and very synthetic techhouse track with a good deal of detroit – a big-time rave tune that should be fitting in any setting from intimate clubs to big festivals. no hesitation! >the grid< comes with a driving, beautiful, rambling stab. an abused tr909 makes this one groove as hell! in conclusion dapayk gets his hands on >sinner city< and gives the track his very special personal note, a dash of warm kick-drum and a hand full of >hands up< – you know the deal!

as a 9volt-musik family member the time is ripe for berk offset to come along with a solo release! he offers two elaborated trax, which show again his manifold skills and musical interests. after his remix for dapayk the mos ferry head is getting even and provides an ultra charged remix to complete the stromberk ep. pretty steep!

fenou #8 - dapayk & padberg on fenou - yes! following up their brilliant >black beauty album< on fenous parent label mos ferry in 2007 and the two album remix records last year this is something new, and different. ok, the duo already had a fenou-like moment with the remix of island (feat. caro) by noze. but this a-side >sugar< shows exactly what the genre description cute minimal electronica actually means. its somewhere between clubby, but distinctive electronica beats, a vocal taht reveals a definite pop-appeal and some lounge-like tunes. the b-side >soir< by dredl kibosh is quite different from that. its a deep and relaxing track developing very slowly to leave a feeling of zero gravity in the end. thereby its not as complex as ezekiel honigs seaside pastures pt.1 on fenou06, but continues the laid-back side of fenou in a perfect way. consequently, the fenou no.8 is presented as a limited edition of 10 records

this summer mos ferry prod. comes up with a new two-track 12inch by dapayk solo, announcing the release of his second album >devils house< in late september. the title track on side a is already giving directions for this journey – provided that theres a proper bass response – >frickelsound< with affection to the little details, in particular with regards to the bass frequencies. but knowing dapayk thats hardly surprising, by now ... on the b side he presents >a saw attacks< - a track like a recapitulation of certain minimal elements that are around for quite a while now. but only the beginning is a typical sportive staccato theme. after a while a full-stereo sawtooth sound and a demoniac vocal sample take the lead, pushed by a strong punchy kick drum and accompanied by a sounddesign of clicks and sweeps
