grischa lichtenberger is a new artist on raster-noton. for >treibgut< he recorded sounds from the world around him like a sliding tabletop, the noise of a radiator or the humming of a broken device. by means of digital manipulation these sounds are transformed into sound-giving instruments
after three digital-only releases polytone switches to vinyl and has signed new tracks from andreas heiszenberger for its first 12 inch release. heiszenberger has enjoyed great success last year with his release on brut! and links to the atmosphere and beat structure of his predecessor here. for polytone heiszenberger also relies on cool syncopated grooves and his heavy trademark beats as well as abstract pads which mingle with sweet harmonies and his laconic vocal snippets.the record is crowned with a great remix by popnoname who has just scored a hit with his new album on italic. of course, popnoname leaps at heiszenbergers harmonies, but also comes up with a really big surprise in the middle of the remix! cool, well-rounded record and a strong start of the vinyl business for polytone.
fenou #8 - dapayk & padberg on fenou - yes! following up their brilliant >black beauty album< on fenous parent label mos ferry in 2007 and the two album remix records last year this is something new, and different. ok, the duo already had a fenou-like moment with the remix of island (feat. caro) by noze. but this a-side >sugar< shows exactly what the genre description cute minimal electronica actually means. its somewhere between clubby, but distinctive electronica beats, a vocal taht reveals a definite pop-appeal and some lounge-like tunes. the b-side >soir< by dredl kibosh is quite different from that. its a deep and relaxing track developing very slowly to leave a feeling of zero gravity in the end. thereby its not as complex as ezekiel honigs seaside pastures pt.1 on fenou06, but continues the laid-back side of fenou in a perfect way. consequently, the fenou no.8 is presented as a limited edition of 10 records

daniel steinberg continues to have great sucess on labels such as microfon, grandpetrol and stylerockets and is also the main representative for front room recordings. with his last e.p, featuring >keep on movin< and >dont you know?<, enjoying such widespread sucess we thought we should call upon the remix skills of roman flügel and siopis for this release. roman has been artistically active sine the 1990s with his own labels playhouse, ongaku musik and klang elektronik contributing some of the best house around throughout the years. his remixes for the likes of pet shop boys, human league, primal scream and kylie minogue have garnered him a worldwide recognition and now he delivers in true style to front room. siopis, fresh from his get physical release >penny from the lane<, has also recently remixed mr. static which has further pushed his name into the international dance music vocabulary. his work can also be spotted on some of the most prominent labels like get physical, bpitch control and crosstown rebels to name a few. three quality remixes making one brilliant e.p that maintains front room at the top of its game.
having quickly established himself as a bright new talent, with releases on respected platforms like drumpoet community, resopal and sthlmaudio, langenberg is the latest promising producer to grace the dessous label catalogue. a long flowing, proud and distinctly current sounding moment in house, >alternate rhythm< stakes its foundations in filtered, warping vocal loops, deeply rooted percussion and dubbed out effects. an urgently rousing synthline lifts the tension higher as langenberg breaks it down in classic style, resulting in a fulfilling and tempting treat for the dancefloor. berlin residing sensation sven weisemann first introduced his talents to the world through his work on the styrax leaves and mojuba imprints. now the young nu-wave-deep-house producer adds his own special touch with his ?allop rhythm remix? stripping down the original? sound palette into a delicious trip into precision dub deepness. taking inspiration from the legacy of both the us and german deep house fraternities, weisemann makes his intentions clear with this beautifully crafted, collectors?cut remix. tracklisting: a alternate rhythm b alternate rhythm (weisemann? gallop remix)
following on from 2006s debut lp path of the gods, arne weinbergs second album will take you on a musical passage from alpha to omega and demonstrate the diversion of arnes palette of sounds. too many modern techno albums feature just a collection of tracks with no real story to tell, arnes second album aims to be more than just that and pushes further the boundaries of modern techno music. from the dark and mystic feel of everlasting to the floor shaking grooves of nightstalker and eclectic spiral or the deep electro influenced ambience of synthetic dissection and with trembling hands this album has it all.
>aurora< is a dubby rhythm track with a fantastic build up in dynamic. house influences are strong and capture a deep intense vibe . >sansula< is to a high degree made out of sounds that create a 3 dimensional sound and an organic and deep atmosphere
after mr.perrys sensational debut album, which was co-produced by tube & berger, they once again make sure with their latest output that you dont require any prosthetics to swing your hips. tempo 1000, jay and symbiose, these are the new tracks of the in-house label kittball by tube & berger. its a real masterpiece and another proof oft he terrific collaboration between these marvellous guys.
he second decade of abstract releases is coming closer with rapid strides. hardtechno with soul? krischmann & klingenbergs tracks are always something extraordinary and this is reason enough to sign their new zodiac signs ep for the nineteenth release on abstract. chosen as best newcomer 2008 no. 10 and best track no. 11 in the annual raveline poll these two guys are outstanding producers and needless to say a rockin act.

baum005 are no other than marko fürstenberg of a.r.t.less/rotary- cocktail/ornaments and thinner fame. on the b side the artist sgi_s joins with a remix. what can you say, but espenhain on the a side is a dancefloor filler. a tight compressed, kick and marko s atmospheric touch of dubby techno. the espenhain remix on the b side, is shaped by swiss artist sgi_s. this track is more of a pure techno track with a old school feeling to it. appegiator groove with a break that builds up to a peak point, but still manages to be deep. ratsholz is the last track on the ep, a soundscape of hiss and noises that forms the hypnotic groove of the track. it starts slowly but it evolves into a sure late night track with a nice melody!
full power play by dubfire, oliver huntemann, popof, stephan bodzin, fergie, style of eye, florian meindl, the hacker, the glitz,… andreas henneberg is part of the glitz (voltage musique, pocketgame, ostwind, karateklub, notorious elektro, areal...) brings home the electro techno bacon once again. hes definitely one of the most promising new electronic artists that emerged from germany in the last years. the federfarben ep comes up like a swarm of killerbees that pushes the honeys right onto the dancefloor. both tracks are overflowing with energy and great interference modulations. this guy simply knows what hes doing and you can be sure hes kicking ass! beware of freaked out dancers!
as the lead front room representatives daniel steinberg has been one of the main flavours on the label with this being his third release in 2008. his releases are frequently played by the likes of ricardo villalobos, luciano, claude vonstroke and richie hawtin to name a few and his talents continue to blossom with every stroke. as well as having great success on front room recordings daniel also regularly airs is talents on labels such as style rockets, leftroom and grandpetrol. with the sounds of tracks like “cobra limbos”, >uptown< and >pay for me< still resonating around the dance floors of the world daniel now steps forward with three killer tracks showcasing his own unique take on house with a twist.
incl darko esser remix! hot on the heels of some serious chart topping action, blistering remix work and increasingly busy dj commitments, nils returns to the dieb fold with his first solo outing on the label
frankfurts arne weinberg comes with his matrix label debut e.p. >a true story<. this brilliant release follows in the footsteps of legendary techno composers kenny larkin, dan curtin, as well as the softer side of jeff mills.
dortmunds very own ‚diskobär, the inimitable ante perry prepares for new double cd long-player extravaganza , flashing disco sounds, with two cuts exclusively produced with close studio comrades tube & berger. these hot co-productions between the long-time buddies simply cannot fail to get the party going. the overwhelming anthemic stir of human you is evident for the very start, but its true dancefloor potential can only be understood after the full ecstatic wonder of the breakdown pours out over a large crowd. super-constructed tech-discohouse is where its at in this high intensity, high drama, big room flashing disco monster. the curiously titled walthervondervogelweide on the other hand is a more brooding beast altogether. working the underlying tension and keeping the pressure tightly locked to the floor its a dangerous late night dancefloor workout... left in the wrong hands this could seriously damage your ability to leave the dancefloor! finally fellow dortmund heavy-calibre producer peter jürgens works his remixing magic and twists human you into a housed up, long building affair that operates on a more stripped, subterranean level to begin with but bursts out above ground with carefully timed energy. warm driving beats and pads layer to reveal the identifying melody of the original.
fetter gabriel ananda & dominik eulberg remix!! techno vom feinstem!! ... supported by carl cox, gregor tresher, nick warren, ida engberg, laurent garnier and many more..
ncl. remixes by gino & snake! supported by: stephan bodzin, oliver huntemann, pascal feos, lemos, butch, kolombo, steve bug, hennon, the glitz... etc. apropos apricot - some unknown ladys apricot colored dress simply flapped away when andreas first new bass line left the speakers. it was the tunes premier and, needless to say, quickly became its name. we hereby thank ms apricot - who had a fruity booty, too! also, a close friend named rikardo was part of the team that magical night… and oh well, he sure liked her, she liked him back - and soon the follow up was born! thumbs up for prorikardo!
big with: magda, karotte, monila kruse, serafin, sebo k, johnny d, audiofly, kabale & liebe, lauhaus, boris werner, markus fix, robert dietz, nick curly, gorge, ali nasser
