as well as being a resident at moscow s denis simachev bar, leonid lipelis has been slowly making a name for himself as a producer for some time. there s a whole raft of lipelis remixes for the nu-disco set dating back to 2006, but it feels like the russian producer has stepped up his game of late. inbetween some killer edits for lies and an upcoming public possession 12- as tmo, lipelis dons his beard in dust guise for the latest release from the mysterious bahnsteig 23 label. if you were a fan of that aforementioned lies release or any previous bah 12 its highly likely you will dig the four cuts here with lipelis drawing for some obscure sources with eminently danceable results.

from the tropics comes whiskey disco, a sneaky re-edit label bent on dredging the decanter for diffident dancefloor genius from latent disco perpetrators. its loosely connected to sleazy mcqueen and his assorted cohorts. whiskey disco #18, cut me gently by beard in dust comes from behind the iron curtain. on a recent tour of russia, sleazy mcqueen had the fortune of meeting a friendly moscovite with an excellent selection of re-edits gathering dust on the hard drive. from the stab- centric *it shouldnt work, but it does* re-edit of grapevine to the cosmic groover, revolution in morder, the straight up boogie of highest mountain and the laidback ease of cant get enough-- more than most, this really does offer something for all (groovy) dancefloors.

uk techno veteran broom is one of the most consistent producers in the game and on neon, he delivers four killer dance floor tracks. inspired in equal parts by the swirling, dub techno of chain reaction and the insistent, loopy techno of mid to late-90s jeff mills, the release starts with the steel-plate percussion and churning chord builds of -m19-. broom keeps his focus on that approach for -energy-, where doubled-up claps and clanging chords create an eerie but urgent sensibility, while the title track is a slightly less visceral affair thanks to the inclusion of a sleepy vocal sample amid the churning keys. finally, -involver- sees broom focus his energies elsewhere, its acidic, grimy groove coming across like steve bicknell in a bad mood.
