short stories is the fruition of musical ideas brought forth by label owner / chief producer gabriel ananda and multitalented instrumentalist and vocalist alice rose. the two of them have come together to resurrect a project from 2001 and have put together a colorful mix of strings, vocals, and melodies. there is something familiar and comforting in the sound of this ep. it could be roses strings, which were introduced with her debut for basmati food for dreams (basmati 06), or elements of anandas live series, there is an aspect to the sound that just fits. ananda and rose have delivered the complete package. the a-side opens with the not-so-short short stories, a fourteen minute evolving trip covering the scope of both producers’ talents. the b-side contains two versions of “struck by light. the techno version comes with power and emotion, crafted for the dance floor, which is followed by the deeper, original version recorded for the first time in 2001.

bettina striegl worked with many crazy and fresh ideas on her own sound. shes creating her personal music-microcosm. the main title, which is called weltenbastler drives you with its sound to dance and move. the wayne harber remix is quite different. with a typical soundmix from his home in south african and his new residence in vienna! only special, only other! finally the track wildwuchs. comes along with deep and crazy notes of bettina striegl sound. weltenbastler - is a very successful publication of a new producer. it is like the crazy mind of bettina striegl.

after conforces tight album release on delsin and other concept projects he did he/we went wild with this one and selected some tracks we just want to play out loud in a club from vinyl (incl. a killer remix by gesloten cirkel for the title track). at first sight these tracks dont have much in common... and probably still not for the second listen, but we didnt really bother for this one. it will be a standard in our dj box for the coming months with 4 tracks that all have a bit of a different groove and a different mood. grain, be there at night, 24 and 24 remixed by gesloten cirkel. this is probably as versatile as a clone basement release can get.
