benjamin vigneron, also known as vronsky, was born in 1991 in aix-en-provence, france. as a teenager, drawn simultaneously to visual arts, cinema and music production, he made his first contact with techno by working for a local club as a graphic designer. during his 20s, while living between montreal, canada and marseille, france, it was revealed to benjamin he suffered from a heavy bipolar disorder. as a reaction, he started losing himself in free parties and increasingly dangerous habits. gradually learning to love himself despite his flaws, he kicked his risk-taking after he realized the love of music prevailed over anything else. equipped with a strong desire to share his vision despite not being able to perform as a dj, benjamin started a youtube channel and a collective named listening blue.

the first in a series of compilations by jura soundsystem is a blend of dub, ambient, downtempo, boogie and proto house with a focus on music never before released on vinyl, sought after out of print titles and some special versions edited specifically for the album. . the intention with this project was to delve deeper into the reissue pond and unearth some lesser known tracks and artists. highlights include smackos (aka legowelt) ambient epic ‘we can watch alf in the hotel room’, never before released on vinyl, the dub / psych hybrid of minus group’s ‘black shadow’, kash’s sought after ‘percussion sundance’ and special edits of ken dang and tabou combo. the end of the album includes some soothing ambient tools.

some crate-digging compilations are often the result of someone hand-picking their choice favourites from another country’s musical history, perhaps unaware or uninvolved with its cultural lineage in the process. on this release - a treasure trove of synth jams, pop, samba boogie, balearic and electro from 1980 & ‘90s brazil - the tracks are picked by millos kaiser, one half of the brazilian duo selvagem, who are at the helm of throwing some of the country’s best dance parties. it’s a rare compilation that offers brazilian music actually picked by a brazilian.

the third release on the sister label, new york trax imports, comes from the legendary dutch producer and founder of one of the most eclectic underground record labels, vincent koreman aka drvg cvltvre of new york haunted. since 2009, drvg cvltvre has been working on his own blend of dystopian acid, no wave, and experimental house. respected in the international underground for his groundbreaking work in experimental techno as ra-x in the 90&#8242,,s on labels like bunker and kk records, drvg cvltvre comes from a diy punk background and opts for hard work rather than hollow pose. the 4-track ep for new york trax imports is an accurate representation of his style: dark and melancholic, but also uncompromisingly intense.

while the first part was all about house music in a more classical way, concrete resident sweely is showing another side of his skills in “les chroniques de monsieur montana part ii”, going in a more minimalistic and after-hour oriented vibe, but always with the funk, the sense of melody, and the deepness that made the succces of the previous release.
