something of a departure into uncharted territory for ostgut ton on the fiftieth single release of the label. following berghains hugely sucessful art exhibition alle which showcased the many visual artists among the members of staff at berghain/panorama bar, ostgut ton shows they cannot be pinned down easily to one genre by offering their anniversary release to two artists of the extended ostgut family who normally wouldnt be associated with what you might have come to expect from the label. shambhu the undisputed queen of the berghain bar ladies (she regulary holds court every saturday upstairs at her very own gitter bar) and rummelsnuff the germanic hulk of the berghain/laboratory bouncers come up with enchanting and surprising results. the release comes pressed as a 7 inch (a first for the label and limited to 500 hand-numered copies) and each side is given to one of the two artists.

raidens label always comes with something different from the usual d&b formula rubbish. martsmans track is very impressive, with his refreshing future sound. on the other side its business as usual from raiden with help from khanage, its funky, and not as full on as normal, but again right at the cutting edge. martsman got into drum&bass around the end of the 90s. debuting on new york based offshore recordings in 2005, he released on smaller as well as established labels like alphacut records or counter intelligence in the following years. in 2008, tracks on warm communications and hospital records sub label med school attract the attention of a steadily growing audience also from outside the drum&bass scene.

second release for the april77 record label... our sound is fast and tough. we dig the clash, buzzcocks, the jam and all that mid 70s early punk stuff. the list could go on and on (lenny pops, singer of the red hearts.). the red hearts are a household name in the los angeles indie rock and punk scene. they are lead by lenny pops, who formed the band in 2004 after having played in the brian jonestown massacre. the guys have shared the stage with cult icons such as silver apples, the avengers, as well as playing with many of todays top bands including black lips and lords of altamont.
