over the course of four unforgettable eps released on throne of blood since 2013, hardway brother sean johnston has cultivated a broad international following for his singular brand of dancefloor fodder. best known as one half of legendary dj team a love from outer space alongside the one-and-only andrew weatherall, johnston’s roots in the dance music scene include a clutch of leftfield 90’s era bangers on labels like sabres of paradise and flashcomm. beyond his original output, johnston has also remixed the likes of man power, the asphodells, museum of love, split secs, clandestino and many more. the laser ep is peaktime hardway bros business. friedman feedback loop revision (a nod to tob boss james friedmans highly-valued opinions) is a masterclass in efficient simplicity, elevating a few basic loops into an exhilarating 8 minute monster. the laser rounds out the a side with a classic electro rhythm/bass/vocal sample combo could easily have landed in retro territory. instead, hardway bros easily flips a clutch of oldschool tricks into an utterly modern execution. the b-side finds tobs label manager max pask injecting friedman feedback loop revision with his love for all things analog and italo. with his impressive collection of synths brought to life by chinatown records brennan green, the song is transformed into an epic set closer thats already devasting dancefloors like berlins panorama bar. the ep closes with afro sirene, a midtempo groover with melodic arpeggios built for the discerning djs warm-up set.

deetron and ripperton have teamed up under their newly created roots panorama moniker for a release on the french label versatile records. the amazing >threee ep< blurs the lines between disco, house and techno … each of the two producers delivers us his vision of the track, between deep house and disco for ripperton. about deetron, its the house / techno way where he takes on. but dont be mistaken, deetron & ripperton join themselves on the dance floor place.

activists on the paris minimal scene since their beginnings in 2006, the group antislash produce sharp, destructive, dancefloor house music. on the decks, they rhythmically exude their passion for electronic music and clubbing. they already played in most of the prestigious parisian clubs and over europe like rex club, nouveau casino, panorama bar, bar 25, club der visionaere or overground festival.

next up on falkplatz we chose one of italys most talented and uprising producers for contemporary dance music. roberto bosco from salerno. bosco already released on francois ks wave music, on orlando voorns night vision and is currently preparing his first full length for len fakis figure label. beside that he founded his own imprint flying donkey music together with claudio mate. for falkplatz roberto produced two tracks, that catch the ears of housefanatics (good lover) as well as the hearts of the technolunatics (untitled). remixes this time come from panorama bar resident steffi, who gave the original a touch of oldschool and sadness and from the falkplatz conspiracy (oliver deutschmann & ed davenport) who mixed a crafty acid influenced warehouse banger out of the original.

geno records first release comes to you from belgium based dan d. dan comes from a traditional of both classical and jazz traditions. dan also developed a love of latin dance in his youth. once moving to berlin in 2001, dan was further influenced by the house sounds of the original panorama bar. dan himself has continued on to dj some of berlins best parties/venues including beatstreet, watergate, arena, maria, and the new panorama bar. club der visionäre has also been very important to dans musical growth. dan has had the opportunity to cut his teeth playing 10 hour marathon sets during his regular appearances since 2004. furthermore, he appeared in clubs like rote sonne (munich) and decadance (gent, belgium). friends like tobi neumann and dinky got him into production in 2003. dans first vinyl release on district of corruption lead to praise from some of the best djs in the business. the african market is quite an evolved sophomoric release for dan. the title track, african market, is a pulsating but stripped down organic percussive journey. afro-cuban rhythms lovingly exchange energy with warm analog synths and crisp techno electronic beats. the flip side, el baile, is a slow burning house jam. el baile features eerily reverberated studio recorded vuvuzela, crisply saturated jazz keys, and the same pumping afro-cuban rhythms that sets dans sound apart from others.

subb-an & adam shelton present one records, cultivated directly from five years experience at the helm of below, one of the uks most upfront and authentic underground parties, the label aims to encapsulate the energy and dexterity of artists and crowds the night has connected with most. the labels debut release comes from its founders, subb-an & shelton, with >feel the musik< ep, a retro infused collection of driving dancefloor tracks. each stamped with a dash of ibican spirit and explosive energy. subb-an has gained familiarity and become a talent to watch through his releases on immigrant and leftroom. he has a distinctly vivacious sound and is a youthful and passionate artist with some tasty scheduled remixes coming up on b-pitch, hypercolour, 2020vision plus a full release coming up with mothership. he is resident at below in birmingham and regularly takes his dj and impressive live set to the best european destinations. this is the debut release from adam shelton, founder of below, which has exploded over the past five years to become named the best uk club night outside london in major press. shelton has found major recognition from his peers and been asked to play everywhere from panoramabar to space in ibiza. his pioneering sound and spirit has propelled below to the heights of appreciation and he is subsequently tunneling this ambition and focus into the one record label. future releases due from the label come from back2basics resident and leeds one to watch buckley, little fritter and further collaborations and solo work from subb-an and shelton. each ep will introduce new talent and deliver first-rate material with 2 solid tracks + 2 added tools for dj use on every release.
