the music fell into the lap of wt records and it seemed only natural to release this 2 part big room art piece. moon temple is gabriel andruzzi. you may know him as the bass player/sax guy/engineer of a well known defunct nyc band. this well polished piece contains 9 tracks of delicate interludes, big room acid stompers, and weirdo spastic mechanical marches. there is no way to know if this release will end up in a big room, a sweaty basement, or a museum. not only does it sound good but there is a visual aspect too. both 12inches (pressed on 45) are packaged in beautiful silver foil op art by moscows art crime.

this is an official reissue of what am i gonna do for fun by the band pitch (1982 - new york city). this release also includes a fantastic remix or rework by tolouse low trax (toresch, salon des amateurs, düsseldorf). a few words from stuart shape, the producer: feels like it was done by another person. i remember getting the serge synthetiser to stay in tune was always a problem. we were fascinated with the new sampling that were just coming out, and kind of got carried away on the vocals. not sure what i was thinking about with the lyrics, guess maybe trying to figure out what i was supposed to be doing when i wasnt working or playing music unfortunately no other finished tracks from that era have survived. they recorded a lot, but finished and saved very little.

the argentinian based ngly had seemingly appeared out of thin air landing on the brooklyn based l.i.e.s. label in 2014 with an untitled four track white label ep. on this ep, the unsuspecting track -speechless tape- ended up becoming a cult hit with select djs in the scene (i-f, mick wills, intergalactic gary...) eventually leading to it being voted as intergalactic fm s #1 track of the year in 2014. on the heels of his successful debut rudolfo could have stayed the path and produced an easily digestable follow up dance record or two, instead he chose to take his time and reflect. sitting back in the studio tweaking his live act, recording endlessly, transforming and refining his sound.

an obscure tape release discovery by red light radio founder and close friend of the label, orpheu de jong, led to music from memorys latest release. this two track 12inch highlights the work of electronic music pioneer joel graham, a san francisco based artist who self released two cassettes in 1984/85. originally recorded and performed live on pre-midi analogue equipment in 1982 as an outline for a live performance, these visionary tracks provoke much of the same sensibilities found in both contemporary dance music as well as in works of more established vanguard artists of the time. slowly unravelling and deeply hypnotic, joel grahams music seems to manifest a doorway to a profound new world and can be seen as a forerunner of what was to come in electronic music.

relaxer returns with the second installment on their eponymous label. heavy, virulent and filled with longing, relaxer draws us further into the artist’s fascinating & unique world. side a’s “hissing flora” unspools organically over ten minutes, its melodic tendrils wrapping around a corroded vocal atop a heaving low end. on side b, “weekend” drifts through a beatless mist, with flickers of venomous voices and crumpling synths that shine through drawn shades. “climate of fear” snaps the listener out their uneasy rest with stomping percussion, overflowing arpeggiations and keening harmonies.

the ep entitled deceased unknown, a seemingly morbid piece of art (art/music) but look a little deeper! this ep sees b12 pick up the pace from their previous firescope release brokenunbroken “coduktor” an organ plays some subtle chords behind this track while beautiful drums skip along on top, to create a sonic backdrop for the very quirky melodies and top lines that constantly evolve and interpolate. a spiritual experience ? “dont look down” 808 and 909 drum and pads always a killer combination add to this an odd malformed bass line which never really reveals quite what it is doing makes for a pretty interesting track. don’t look down where is the question “blue and green capsule” a pumping kick drum sets the pace for this track which builds up using classic b12 style drums. the swirling pads and sliding melodies interlaced make this track reminiscent of “epillion” as featured on the classic b12 album “time tourist” on warp records in 1996. a track you can move your feet as well as your head to “minor decay” brain decay , world decay , urban decay , human decay , music decay, unavoidable decay - a simple straightforward techno track using its simplicity to conjure up feelings of sadness and thoughtfulness as well as joy and hope. a new hope finished in glorious red with black splatter vinyl with exclusive artwork by sarah sparkes

auf departed glories gelingt dem norwegischen electronic-produzenten und ambient-guru geir jenssen alias biosphere eine eindringliche klangatmosphäre, die mit worten nicht zu erklären ist. die entrückten tracks erhalten ihre kontur durch den hintergrund, vor dem das album entstanden ist. das bild des covers ist vor mehr als hundert jahren von dem russischen fotografen sergei prokudin-gorsky, einem pionier der farbfotografie, aufgenommen worden. es zeigt eine armenische frau in einer landschaft, die heute zur türkei gehört. the crystal clear yet haunting atmosphere fascinated me, erklärt biosphere, was ausschlaggebend für die atmosphäre des albums war. hinzu kommt seine recherche während eines aufenthalts in polen, krakau: das psychologische trauma der mittelalterlichen königin bronislawa, die sich mit ein paar nonnen in den bäumen vor den tataren versteckte, bildet die inspirierende grundlage von departed glories. diese elemente und die hinzunahme einiger klangschnipsel ukrainischer und polnischer volksmusik formen den gespenstischen, in mark und bein übergehenden charakter des werkes.

die in brasilien geborene, in köln aufgewachsene und in berlin lebende künstlerin dominique dillon de byington alias dillon hatte immer eine klare vision ihrer kunst. zwei alben hat sie bereits veröffentlich. für sie selbst sind beide eigentlich eins, denn sie erzählen eine zusammenhängende geschichte. live war dies stets spürbar, denn die dunkel melodischen songs beider alben bestimmten im magischen wechselspiel ihre shows. als sie 2015 vom berliner foreign affairs festival gebeten wurde, ein einmaliges konzert zu entwickeln, entschied sie sich für eine performance mit einem sechzehnköpfigen frauenchor, der sie und ihr kollaborateur und co-produzent ihrer ersten beiden alben, tamer fahri Özgönenc im juli 2015 live im haus der berliner festspiele begleitete.
